Certification of programs with computational effects

In purely functional programming languages imperative features, more generally computational effects are prohibited. However, non-functional lan- guages do involve effects. The theory of decorated logic provides a rigorous for- malism (with a refinement in operation signatures) for proving program properties with respect to computational effects. The aim of this thesis is to first develop Coq libraries and tools for verifying program properties in decorated settings as- sociated with several effects: states, local state, exceptions, non-termination, etc. Then, these tools will be combined to deal with several effects

Wireless Heterogeneous Networks and Next Generation Internet

The recent advances in wireless access technologies as well as the increasing number of mobile applications have made Wireless Internet a reality. A wide variety of bandwidth demanding services including high speed data delivery and multimedia communication have been materialized through the convergence of the next generation Internet and heterogeneous wireless networks. However, providing even higher bandwidth and richer applications necessitates a fundamental understanding of wireless Internet architecture and the interactions between heterogeneous users. Consequently, fundamental advances in many concepts of the wireless Internet are required for the ultimate goal of communication anytime anywhere. This special issue of the ACM Mobile Networks and Applications Journal is dedicated to the recent advances in the area of Wireless Internet. We accepted 10 papers out of 59 submissions from all over the world with a 17% acceptance rate. Papers describing management schemes, protocols, models, evaluation methods, and experimental studies of Wireless Internet are included in this special issue to provide a broad view of recent advances in this field

A Pre-Investigation on the Saving Behaviour of the European Area: A Robust Classification on This Issue

Saving behaviours of countries are shaped with the effects of the some elements as social policies, age structures, cultures, and so forth. Inherently these elements change country to country. Since the possible European countries saving behaviour variation can be seen as a striking issue, the paper aims to explore and classify the different structured countries. For the purpose the classification process is based on Modigliani’s life-cycle model and performed with robust approach.Life-cycle savings model, outlying European countries for saving structure comparison, robust outlier detection.

Does the saving behaviour of the european countries indicate the similar tendencies or can they be grouped regarding their saving behaviour?

Bayesian networks: a tool for macro-level analysis

    Get PDF
The main objective of this paper is to give a brief introduction of the Bayesian Networks and to illustrate it using one of the major domains of macromarketing: ethics. Bayesian networks allow researchers to analyze a domain from a system perspective. It is considered one of the most powerful tools for observing system changes. The method can also deal with multiple variables at once, which can lead to efficient scenario analyses, critical for understanding how a system functions. We belive that the adaptation of this methodology by the macromar-keting researchers is likely to be beneficial for the theory and practice of macromarketing

A macro (Bayesian network) analysis of ethical behavior

This record include extended abstract from conference book ; Proceedings of the 38th Annual Macromarketing Conference Toronto, ON, Canada, June 4-7, 2013.Macromarketing scholars have long voiced the need for (particularly mezzo and macro-level) empirical investigation of ethical behavior. One of the earlier calls on this issue is made by Murphy and Laczniak (1981). More than ten years later, Laczniak (1993), once again, points out the need for "developing empirical traditions" in business/marketing ethics (p.93). The comprehensive review by Nill and Schibrowsky (2007) also suggests "more research to shed further light" on the ethical frameworks and theories developed over the decades (p. 271). In addition, the authors point out that the existing research has particularly taken a "micro/positive" perspective and macro and normative perspectives of ethics have received little attention. Finally, the authors made a special call for the need for macro level ethics studies by stating "we believe that macro articles provide an integral part in the development of marketing ethics field."
