BF Topological Theories and Infinitely Reducible Systems
We present a rigurous disscusion for abelian theories in which the base
manifold of the bundle is homeomorphic to a Hilbert space. The theory
has an infinte number of stages of reducibility. We specify conditions on the
base manifold under which the covarinat quantization of the system can be
performed unambiguously. Applications of the formulation to the superparticle
and the supertstring are also discussed.Comment: 10 pages, Late
The viability of spectrum trading markets
Spectrum trading markets are of growing interest to many spectrum management agencies. They are motivated by their desire to increase the use of market based mechanisms for spectrum management and reduce their emphasis on command and control methods. Despite the liberalization of regulations on spectrum trading in some countries, spectrum markets have not yet emerged as a key spectrum assignment component. The lack of liquidity in these markets is sometimes cited as a primary factor in this outcome. This work focuses on determining the conditions for viability of spectrum trading markets by considering scenarios with different market structures, number of trading participants and amount of tradable spectrum. We make use of Agent-Based Computational Economics (ACE) to analyze each market scenario and the behaviors of its participants. Our models indicate that spectrum markets can be viable in a service if sufficient numbers of market participants exist and the amount of tradable spectrum is balanced to the demand. We use the results of this analysis and the characteristics of the viable markets found to make recommendations for the design of spectrum trading markets. Further work will explore more complicated scenarios. Ā©2010 IEEE
The bounded proper forcing axiom and well orderings of the reals
We show that the bounded proper forcing axiom BPFA implies that there is a well-ordering of P(Ļ_1) which is Ī_1 definable with parameter a subset of Ļ_1. Our proof shows that if BPFA holds then any inner model of the universe of sets that correctly computes N_2 and also satisfies BPFA must contain all subsets of Ļ_1. We show as applications how to build minimal models of BPFA and that BPFA implies that the decision problem for the HƤrtig quantifier is not lightface projective
BRST QUANTIZATION OF NON-ABELIAN BF TOPOLOGICAL THEORIES
The off-shell nilpotent BRST charge and the BRST invariant effective action
for non-abelian BF topological theories over D-dimensional manifolds are
explicitly constructed. These theories have the feature of being reducible with
exactly D-3 stages of reducibility. The adequate extended phase space including
the different levels of ghosts for ghosts is explicitly obtained. Using the
structure of the resulting BRST charge we show that for topological BF theories
the semi-classical approximation completely describes the quantum theory. The
independence of the partition function on the metric also follows from our
explicit construction in a straightforward way.Comment: 13 pages, amste
