    Effects of 8-Week Core Exercises on Free Style Swimming Performance of Female Swimmers Aged 9-12

    With this study, it is aimed to review the effects of 8-week core exercises, which are scheduled before the routine exercises, on changes over certain physical and motoric attributes and freestyle swimming performance of female athletes of the youngest age group, which is 9-12. For the study, a group of 12 female licensed swimmers who had a swimming background of 3 years in city of Van is chosen to be core exercise group (CEG) and set as experimental group. And 12 female swimmers are chosen to be in control group. The athletes are scheduled to perform regular swimming exercises for competition, five days a week and for approximately 90 minutes per day. In addition to control group, CEG is scheduled to perform 20 minutes of low intensity, fixed duration and repetitive core exercises before every routine exercise for 8 weeks. Chosen measurements are obtained from the athletes both at the beginning and after 8 weeks and the change between pretest and posttest values is evaluated. For the statistical data analysis, non-parametric tests of Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney U tests are used. As a results of the study, the group of swimmers aged 9-12 who underwent 8 weeks of low intensity core exercises showed differences compared to pretest and posttest values of control group, even though not statistically significant (p>0,05). As a result, compared to the control group, a 1-2 seconds of decrease – especially when it is a very important amount for this sport – in 25 m and 50 m free style swimming ranks is attributed to the effect of core exercises, and it is reckoned that low intensity core exercises may positively affect the free style swimming performance of female swimmers aged 9-12

    Lactobacillus plantarum and Lactobacillus helveticus modulate SIRT1, Caspase3 and Bcl-2 in the testes of high-fructose-fed rats

    Background and Aims: The influence of a high-fructose diet and probiotics on the male reproductive system and the testicular apoptotic pathway has been poorly documented. In this study, we aimed to investigate the influence of Lactobacillus plantarum and Lactobacillus helveticus supplementation on apoptotic factors such as sirtuin1, caspase3 and bcl-2 on the testicular tissue of high-fructose-fed rats. Methods: Fructose was given to the rats as a 20% solution in drinking water for 15 weeks. Gene expressions were established by real-time PCR. Protein levels were determined by Western blot analysis. Results: Fructose consumption did not change mRNA expression of SIRT1, but did resulted in a decreased protein level. Dietary fructose reduced bcl-2 mRNA and protein expressions, whereas no changes were observed in the gene and protein expression levels of factor caspase-3. Both Lactobacillus supplementations increased SIRT1 protein expression without changing the mRNA levels in fructose-fed rats. The supplementations with both probiotics produced a significant downregulation on caspase3 mRNA and protein levels. Bcl-2 proetin level increases with both probiotics supplementation while, mRNA level did not show difference in L.plantarum, but increased in L. helveticus supplementation. Conclusion: Treatments with L.plantarum and L.helveticus can reduce testicular apoptosis induced by dietary high-fructose in rats via suppressing caspase3 and promoting sirt1 and bcl-2 protein expressions

    An algorithmic approach based on generating trees for enumerating pattern-avoiding inversion sequences

    We introduce an algorithmic approach based on generating tree method for enumerating the inversion sequences with various pattern-avoidance restrictions. For a given set of patterns, we propose an algorithm that outputs either an accurate description of the succession rules of the corresponding generating tree or an ansatz. By using this approach, we determine the generating trees for the pattern-classes In(000,021),In(100,021)I_n(000, 021), I_n(100, 021), In(110,021),In(102,021)I_n(110, 021), I_n(102, 021), In(100,012)I_n(100,012), In(011,201)I_n(011,201), In(011,210)I_n(011,210) and In(120,210)I_n(120,210). Then we use the kernel method, obtain generating functions of each class, and find enumerating formulas. Lin and Yan studied the classification of the Wilf-equivalences for inversion sequences avoiding pairs of length-three patterns and showed that there are 48 Wilf classes among 78 pairs.     In this study, it is aimed to examine the relationship between customer experience and re-visit intention, and purchase intention in e-commerce sites in the example of amazon.com.tr. The questionnaire form prepared to collect data within the scope of the research was shared on the internet. Descriptive statistical analysis and regression analysis were performed with the data obtained from 358 participants who answered the questionnaire. As a result of the analysis, it was found that customer experience has significant effects on purchase intention and re-visit intention, as well as purchase intention on re-visit intention

Bu dağıtılan spektrumun büyük bir kısmı düzensiz bir sekilde kullanıldığından spektrum bantları verimsiz kullanılmaktadır. Bilissel radyolar dinamik spektrum erisim teknikleri ile bu sorunları çözmek için önerilmis bir teknolojidir. Bilissel radyonun amacı daha iyi performans elde etmek için mümkün olan en iyi kanalda hizmet vermeye çalısmaktır. Spektrum algılama ve spektrum karar verme bilissel radyo ağlarında yerine getirilmesi gereken iki ana islevdir. Bilissel radyoların çalısma alanlarından biri de IEEE 802.11 tabanlı kablosuz ağlardır. Yapısal IEEE 802.11 tabanlı kablosuz ağlar, kendi ağlarındaki birimlerle haberlesmek için belirli bir kanalda çalısan erisim kontrol üniteleri kullanımını gerektirmektedir. Bu tezde, tasarlanmıs ve uygulanmıs bilissel erisim kontrol ünitesi için üzerinde en az trafik yükü olan ve kanallar arası parazitten en az etkilenen en iyi veri iletim kanalının seçilmesi üzerine odaklanılmıstır. Ayrıca kablosuz ağların ortak olarak kullandığı kablosuz ortamda kanallar arası parazitin önemli bir sorun olduğu gösterilmistir. Bunun yanında kanal seçim sisteminde daha da iyilesme yapılarak, sadece bizim bilissel erisim kontrol ünitemizin performansını arttırarak değil, komsu ağlarla birlikte tüm sistemin performansını arttıracak sekilde komsu ağlara da kanallar atayan bir sistem tasarlanmıstır. Kanal atamaları yapılırken ortamdaki kanalların kullanım oranı karakteristikleri, ağların trafik yükleri ve kanallar arasındaki parazit gerçeği göz önünde bulundurulmustur. Gerçek test ortamında yapılan test uygulamalarıyla tüm sistemin performansının arttırıldığı gösterilmistir. Test sonuçları ayrıca önerilen kanal atama uygulamasının, veri gonderim hızını arttırdığı gibi, bunu ağlar arasında dengelendirdiğini de göstermistir. Bunların yanında paketlerin gecikme zamanlarının istatistiksel değisiminde azalma sağladığı gibi paket kaybında da azalma sağlamıstır.Many wireless networks are controlled by governmental agencies through a fixed spectrum assignment policy today. By this policy the governmental agencies regulate the spectrum and assign to license holders or services. A large part of the assigned spectrum is being used in an irregular manner which results in low utilization of the spectrum bands. Cognitive radio is a technology which is proposed to solve this problem with dynamic spectrum access techniques. The aim of cognitive radio is to operate in the best available channel to achieve a better performance. Spectrum sensing and spectrum decision are the main challenging functions of cognitive radio (CR). One of the research fields related to CR solutions is IEEE 802.11 based wireless networks. Infrastructured IEEE 802.11 based wireless networks require the use of a wireless access point (AP) that works on a certain channel to communicate with the nodes in the network. In this thesis, we focused on selecting the best transmission channel for multiple AP environment by using the cognitive radio approach. The best transmission channel has the least activity on it. It is also the channel that is least affected by the interference. It is shown that interference is an important challenge for the neighboring wireless networks. A contribution to the channel selection system is made by selecting a channel not only to improve the performance of single AP (network), but also the performance of the neighboring networks forming the system. The channel utilization characteristic of the environment, the traffic load of the networks, and the interference are considered when deciding on the channel assignments. By using the test bed environment, the improvement of the system performance is shown. The test results also show that the proposed channel assignment scheme accomplishes performance improvement in throughput while balancing it among the networks.     Prediction of vaginal delivery with transperineal ultrasound in women induced with dinoprostone beyond 40 weeks of gestation

    Background: Digital cervical evaluation has been used to determine the likelihood of vaginal delivery which is considered by many women to be non-tolerable. Recently, transperineal ultrasound allowing direct visualization of the fetal skull has been using for the prediction of labor route. Authors aimed to study whether measurements on transperineal ultrasound are predictive for vaginal delivery in pregnant women induced with dinoprostone at 40.0-42.0 gestational weeks.Methods: A total of 55 pregnant women at 40.0-42.0 gestational weeks were enrolled in this prospective observational study. All participated women were examined before the induction with dinoprostone to measure the head-perineum distance (HPD), the head-pubis distance and the angle of progression of fetal head (AOP).Results: The greater AOP, the shorter HPD and the head-pubis distance were associated with vaginal delivery in the nulliparous women. The HPD and the head-pubis distance were shorter, whereas the AOP was greater in the multiparous women giving birth by vaginal route.Conclusions: Transperineal ultrasound can be applied at the beginning of labor to predict whether vaginal delivery will occur or not. As shown in our study, the pregnant women with shorter HPD and wider AOP might have a high possibility to achieve vaginal delivery

    In the title mononuclear copper(II) compound, [Cu(C2O4)(C4H12N2O)], the CuII ion has a slightly distorted square-pyramidal geometry, with a tridentate N-(2-hydroxy­ethyl)ethyl­enediamine (HydEt-en) and a bidentate oxalate (ox) ligand. The N atoms of the HydEt-en ligand and the O atoms of ox ligand form the basal plane, while the O atom of the ethanol group of the HydEt-en ligand is located in the axial position. The complex mol­ecules participate in a supra­molecular assembly through N—H⋯O and O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds between HydEt-en and ox ligands

    Bioremediation of Synthetic Prepared Domestic Wastewater with P. chrysosporium

    In this study, the removal efficiencies were evaluated based on key environmental parameters such as chemical oxygen demand (COD), Total Organic Carbon (TOC), Total Nitrogen (TN), and Total Phosphorus (TP), using P. chrysosporium white rot fungus to treat synthetically prepared domestic wastewater. The research aimed to assess the suitability of bioremediation results with respect to the Urban Wastewater Treatment Regulation. The experiment was carried out over a span of 11th days, employing static 1%252F1 and 1%252F5, as well as dynamic 1%252F1 and 1%252F5 dilution ratios. The outcomes revealed varying removal efficiencies, with the highest rates observed at dynamic conditions and a 1%252F5 dilution ratio%253A 84%25 for COD, 81%25 for TOC, 73%25 for TN, and 56%25 for TP. Conversely, the lowest removal efficiencies were determined under static 1%252F1 conditions, reaching 48%25 for COD, 33%25 for TOC, 31%25 for TN, and 45%25 for TP. Based on the results, it is evident that P. chrysosporium exhibited effective bioremediation capabilities on synthetic domestic wastewater within a reasonable 11th day period. Furthermore, the results aligned with the specified limit values outlined in the Urban Wastewater Treatment Regulation. Consequently, the study highlights the efficacy of P. chrysosporium as a valuable species for biological treatment stages in urban wastewater management
