The parade consisted of the Holland City Band, the Fire Department, veterans, members of the City Council and many other people. Addresses were given by Dr. Albertus C. Van Raalte, Rev. Abel T. Stewart, pastor of Hope Reformed Church, Rev. J. Vander Meulen of Muskegon, and others. During this period of time, Rev. Albertus C. Van Raalte had a charge account at Plugger\u27s Store in the Village of Holland. The four pages in translation indicate a wide variety of items purchased by the Van Raaltes for their family needs. The items fall mainly in the line of foodstuffs and hardware as well as dry goods. Another Poem to Beloved Pastor and Friend

Another poem to Beloved Pastor and Friend. Apparently another class of the teacher was not to be outdone by the class which sent the teacher a poem on 17 October. This poem is much longer although part of the document is damaged and the beginning of the lines of the first three stanzas are missing. There is a clue that the teacher is Dr. Albertus C. Van Raalte for the first line in stanza five reads: May He spare you for family and for flock. If the flock is the Pillar Church congregation (First Reformed Church), then the teacher is Van Raalte and the students may be members of his catechism class.
