When and where do you want to hide? Recommendation of location privacy preferences with local differential privacy
In recent years, it has become easy to obtain location information quite
precisely. However, the acquisition of such information has risks such as
individual identification and leakage of sensitive information, so it is
necessary to protect the privacy of location information. For this purpose,
people should know their location privacy preferences, that is, whether or not
he/she can release location information at each place and time. However, it is
not easy for each user to make such decisions and it is troublesome to set the
privacy preference at each time. Therefore, we propose a method to recommend
location privacy preferences for decision making. Comparing to existing method,
our method can improve the accuracy of recommendation by using matrix
factorization and preserve privacy strictly by local differential privacy,
whereas the existing method does not achieve formal privacy guarantee. In
addition, we found the best granularity of a location privacy preference, that
is, how to express the information in location privacy protection. To evaluate
and verify the utility of our method, we have integrated two existing datasets
to create a rich information in term of user number. From the results of the
evaluation using this dataset, we confirmed that our method can predict
location privacy preferences accurately and that it provides a suitable method
to define the location privacy preference
Faddeev approach to confined three-quark problems
We propose a method that allows for the efficient solution of the three-body
Faddeev equations in the presence of infinitely rising confinement
interactions. Such a method is useful in calculations of nonrelativistic and
especially semirelativistic constituent quark models. The convergence of the
partial wave series is accelerated and possible spurious contributions in the
Faddeev components are avoided. We demonstrate how the method works with the
example of the Goldstone-boson-exchange chiral quark model for baryons.Comment: 6 page
A simple piston problem in one dimension
We study a heavy piston that separates finitely many ideal gas particles
moving inside a one-dimensional gas chamber. Using averaging techniques, we
prove precise rates of convergence of the actual motions of the piston to its
averaged behavior. The convergence is uniform over all initial conditions in a
compact set. The results extend earlier work by Sinai and Neishtadt, who
determined that the averaged behavior is periodic oscillation. In addition, we
investigate the piston system when the particle interactions have been
smoothed. The convergence to the averaged behavior again takes place uniformly,
both over initial conditions and over the amount of smoothing.Comment: Accepted by Nonlinearity. 27 pages, 2 figure
The Numerical Solution of Scalar Field for Nariai Case in 5D Ricci-flat SdS Black String Space with Polynomial Approximation
As one exact candidate of the higher dimensional black hole, the 5D
Ricci-flat Schwarzschild-de Sitter black string space presents something
interesting. In this paper, we give a numerical solution to the real scalar
field around the Nariai black hole by the polynomial approximation. Unlike the
previous tangent approximation, this fitting function makes a perfect match in
the leading intermediate region and gives a good description near both the
event and the cosmological horizons. We can read from our results that the wave
is close to a harmonic one with the tortoise coordinate. Furthermore, with the
actual radial coordinate the waves pile up almost equally near the both
horizons.Comment: 8 pages, 4 figure
Is there diquark clustering in the nucleon?
It is shown that the instanton-induced interaction in qq pairs, iterated in
t-channel, leads to a meson-exchange interactions between quarks. In this way
one can achieve a simultaneous understanding of low-lying mesons, baryons and
the nuclear force. The discussion is general and does not necessarily rely on
the instanton-induced interaction. Any nonperturbative gluonic interaction
between quarks, which is a source of the dynamical chiral symmetry breaking and
explains the - mass splitting, will imply an effective meson
exchange picture in baryons. Due to the (anti)screening there is a big
difference between the initial 't Hooft interaction and the effective
meson-exchange interaction. It is demonstrated that the effective
meson-exchange interaction, adjusted to the baryon spectrum, does not bind the
scalar diquark and does not induce any significant quark-diquark clustering in
the nucleon because of the nontrivial role played by the Pauli principle.Comment: Final version to appear in Phys. Rev. D; typos have been corrected;

H-Dihyperon in Quark Cluster Model
The H dihyperon (DH) is studied in the framework of the SU(3) chiral quark
model. It is shown that except the chiral field, the overall effect of
the other SU(3) chiral fields is destructive in forming a stable DH. The
resultant mass of DH in a three coupled channel calculation is ranged from 2225
to 2234 .Comment: 9 pages, emte
Generation of angular-momentum-dominated electron beams from a photoinjector
Various projects under study require an angular-momentum-dominated electron
beam generated by a photoinjector. Some of the proposals directly use the
angular-momentum-dominated beams (e.g. electron cooling of heavy ions), while
others require the beam to be transformed into a flat beam (e.g. possible
electron injectors for light sources and linear colliders). In this paper, we
report our experimental study of an angular-momentum-dominated beam produced in
a photoinjector, addressing the dependencies of angular momentum on initial
conditions. We also briefly discuss the removal of angular momentum. The
results of the experiment, carried out at the Fermilab/NICADD Photoinjector
Laboratory, are found to be in good agreement with theoretical and numerical
models.Comment: 8 pages, 7 figures, submitted to Phys. Rev. ST Accel. Beam
Extended states in 1D lattices: application to quasiperiodic copper-mean chain
The question of the conditions under which 1D systems support extended
electronic eigenstates is addressed in a very general context. Using real space
renormalisation group arguments we discuss the precise criteria for determining
the entire spertrum of extended eigenstates and the corresponding
eigenfunctions in disordered as well as quasiperiodic systems. For purposes of
illustration we calculate a few selected eigenvalues and the corresponding
extended eigenfunctions for the quasiperiodic copper-mean chain. So far, for
the infinite copper-mean chain, only a single energy has been numerically shown
to support an extended eigenstate [ You et al. (1991)] : we show analytically
that there is in fact an infinite number of extended eigenstates in this
lattice which form fragmented minibands.Comment: 10 pages + 2 figures available on request; LaTeX version 2.0
