Nonmelanomatous Skin Cancer Following Cervical, Vaginal, and Vulvar Neoplasms: Etiologic Association
Epidemiology of miscarriage
Miscarriages account for about one in six/one in seven pregnancies, and probably over one in five excluding induced abortions, i.e. over 20 million events per year. However, any precise and valid estimate is made difficult by uncertainties in diagnosis, ascertainment, distinction in registration between induced and spontaneous abortions, and certification. These uncertainties vary across geographic region, country and socio-economic status..
Luigi Mangiagalli
Luigi Mangiagalli (1850-1928) is a well known figure and a “founding father” of obstetrics and gynecology in Italy, but less recognized are the wide range implications of his work on a public health and social level. In fact, apart from its surgical, clinical and academic values, all the activities of Mangiagalli had a public health, and hence a political relevance. Thus, when at age 27 hewas named professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Sassari, Sardinia, he not only focused on the improvement of the local obstetrics clinic -when he arrived there were no beds and only a one broken forceps- and the control of puerperal infections, but also to the control of malaria and syphilis in pregnancy
Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Public Health, EBPH: a new vision for two old journals
The launch of this new journal, Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Public Health (EBPH), enables us to embrace new challenges, and renew our commitment to our readers, our authors and fellow editors, and ultimately to the public health community worldwide.
EBPH is an open access journal streaming from two previous journals, one focused on public health (The Italian Journal of Public Health, http://ijphjournal.it/) [1-8], ..
A note of thanks
