Violation of Bell's Inequalities with a Local Theory of Photons

We use a local theory of photons purely as particles to model the single-photon experiment proposed by Tan, Walls, and Collett. Like Tan et al. we are able to derive a violation of Bell's inequalities for photon counts coincidence measurements. Repetibilidade e número de avaliações necessárias à seleção de clones de cajueiro anão precoce

O objetivo deste trabalho foi estimar o coeficiente de repetibilidade e determinar o numero adequado de avaliacoes necessarias a selecao de clones de cajueiro anao precoce para caracteres de producao e porte da planta. A metodologia aplicada para estimacao constou da utilizacao dos componentes principais obtidos da matriz de covariancias e variancias fenotipicas. Avaliou-se em trinta clones a altura da planta (AP), odiametro da copa (DC) e a producao de castanha (PROD), durante cinco anos. Inequalities for dealing with detector inefficiencies in Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger-type experiments

In this article we show that the three-particle GHZ theorem can be reformulated in terms of inequalities, allowing imperfect correlations due to detector inefficiencies. We show quantitatively that taking into accout those inefficiencies, the published results of the Innsbruck experiment support the nonexistence of local hidden variables that explain the experimental result.Comment: LaTeX2e, 9 pages, 3 figures, to appear in Phys. Brazilian sedimentary zeolite use in agriculture.

Zeolites are hydrated crystalline aluminosilicate minerals of alkaline and alkaline earth metals, structured in rigid three dimension nets, organized by AlO4 and SiO4 tetrahedral and are of natural occurrence. This report describes the characterization and application of the Brazilian zeolitic sedimentary rock as a release fertilizer and soil conditioner. The characterization of the head samples showed that it is composed of the zeolite stilbite intermixed with a smectitic clay mineral, and quartz. A low-cost quartz separation technique was established. Enrichment of concentrated natural zeolite was carried out: zeolite + KNO3, zeolite + K2HPO4 and zeolite + H3PO4 + apatite and the concentrated zeolite. These materials were tested with Rangpur lime rootstock and an experiment was also carried out with successive crops grown on the same substrate: lettuce, tomato, rice, and Andropogon grass. The results indicated that N, P and K enriched zeolite was an adequate slow-release source of nutrients to plants. Other green house and field experiments with concentrated zeolite applied with urea showed reduction of losses of ammonia by volatilization and improved in N use efficiency by maize. Concentrated zeolite also increased water retention and the available water capacity of a sand soil

Comportamento do cajueiro-anão precoce no Município de Carauari, Amazonas.

Seis clones de cajueiro-anão precoce recomendados pela Embrapa foram avaliados quanto à adaptação ao ecossistema amazônico.
