A Dataset of Fact-Checked Images Shared on WhatsApp During the Brazilian and Indian Elections

Recently, messaging applications, such as WhatsApp, have been reportedly abused by misinformation campaigns, especially in Brazil and India. A notable form of abuse in WhatsApp relies on several manipulated images and memes containing all kinds of fake stories. In this work, we performed an extensive data collection from a large set of WhatsApp publicly accessible groups and fact-checking agency websites. This paper opens a novel dataset to the research community containing fact-checked fake images shared through WhatsApp for two distinct scenarios known for the spread of fake news on the platform: the 2018 Brazilian elections and the 2019 Indian elections.Comment: 7 pages. Influence of the external pressure on the quantum correlations of molecular magnets

The study of quantum correlations in solid state systems is a large avenue for research and their detection and manipulation are an actual challenge to overcome. In this context, we show by using first-principles calculations on the prototype material KNaCuSi4_{4}O10_{10} that the degree of quantum correlations in this spin cluster system can be managed by external hydrostatic pressure. Our results open the doors for research in detection and manipulation of quantum correlations in magnetic systems with promising applications in quantum information science

Growth and nutrient contents in lowland rice due to phosphorus and potassium fertilization.

In order to reach an optimum and sustainable production, growers must know the fertilizing potassium (K) and phosphorous (P) application rates. The present study aimed to determine the rice development in response to combined rates of P and K, on Plinthaquults (380-400 g kg-1 of clay), under high and low fertility conditions, in the tropical lowland plain of the Araguaia river, Brazil. Three field experiments were performed, each one consisting of a completely randomized factorial block design, with three replications. Treatments included a combination of six K2O rates (0 kg ha-1, 30 kg ha-1, 60 kg ha-1, 90 kg ha-1, 120 kg ha-1 and 150 kg ha-1) with six P2O5 rates (0 kg ha-1, 30 kg ha-1, 60 kg ha-1, 90 kg ha-1, 120 kg ha-1 and 150 kg ha-1). No interaction effect between P and K rates was observed for the evaluated variables in any fertility level/year. Phosphorous application under low fertility conditions, as well as K under high fertility conditions, affect overall crop nutrition, tillering capacity, yield components and grain yield of lowland rice, though no effects were observed due to the P application in high fertility soils and K in low fertility soils. Under high fertility conditions, the grain yield increment rate due to the K application was 4.04 kg ha-1, whereas in the low fertility areas, such as recently cleared fields, a maximum yield of 7,161 kg ha-1 was achieved by applying 140 kg ha-1 of P

Repeatability and genotypic stability of agronomic characteristics in Panicum maximum Jacq.

In experiments with selection of perennial plants, the initial performance is expected to be maintained throughout the productive life. The probability of repeating the agronomic response can be evaluated by the repeatability coefficient. The objective was to estimate repeatability coefficients of agronomic characteristics in Panicum maximum Jacq. using different methods and identify the best combinations between harvests according to the genotypic stabilization. Seventeen genotypes were evaluated in a randomized complete block design with three replicates. The coefficients of repeatability were estimated by the methods: ANOVA, structural analysis based on the mean of the correlation coefficients (SACOR), analysis of principal components based on the covariance matrix (PCCOV) and correlation matrix (PCCOR). In the genotypic stabilization, coefficients estimated by ANOVA and PCCOR were used. For total DM, repeatability coefficients ranged from 0.3500 to 0.4300 by the ANOVA and PCCOR methods, respectively. High repeatability coefficients were found for the characteristic leaf DM, while low coefficients were observed for leaf and stem percentages and leaf:stem ratio. For the genotypic stabilization of total DM and leaf:stem ratio, the best coefficients were observed for the combination of harvests 5 to 8. There are variations in the estimate of repeatability by different methods and the highest coefficients were those of the principal components based on the correlation and covariance matrices. For the genotypic stabilization, the best coefficients of repeatability and determination were observed for the harvests performed in the second rainy period
