The objective of this study was to evaluate the performance characteristics of the morphometric sheep of the Santa Inês breed, recently-Paris, with their respective Lamb Texel x Santa Inês, a paste, in creep feeding system. For this purpose, 30 Sheeps and theirs and the respective lamb were used for natural breastfeeding for 60 days until weaning. The randomized blocks used, with two Treatments (absence of the presence of the private feeder), with 10 repetitions, being shadow sheep by repetition municipality or relative lamb. In Studies on the termination of two Cordeiro, the bone of heavy animals was measured at the beginning and at the end of the experiments (25 days), using the 30-Cordeiro weaned. The randomized blocks, used with three Treatments (0.400 of 800 g of concentrate / lamb / DIA). There was no difference in weight between the sheep outside of Cordeiro (supplemented or not). There were no two treatments effect on the morphometric characteristics among the sheep outside between the Lamb bone. The use of creep feeding did not provide greater weight gain in recovery to give weight to give infant sheep, nor did it provide greater weight gain, we Lamb supplemented in relation to this not supplemented during breastfeeding, but the supplementary feed 400g / animal / day in the finishing phase it shows better results for I gained two lambs of weight.Brazilian sheep farming has been gaining prominence with the increase in meat production, seeking more efficiency and profitability. Thus, the creation of the Santa Inês breed has stood out, as it is highly adaptable to different types of environments and has potential for meat production. There were no two treatments effect on the morphometric characteristics among the sheep outside between the lamb bone. The use of creep feeding to supplement lambs kept on natural lactation does not provide weight gain in sheep, nor does it provide weight gain in supplemented lambs. Lamb supplementation does not influence the morphometric characteristics of ewes and lambs during lactation. Private supplementation during breastfeeding does not increase lambs’ weight gain until weaning, but food supplementation, via creep feeding with 400 g/animal/day, in the finishing phase presents the best results for weight gain

The objective of this study was to conduct a systematic review of the literature on the use of phytogenics in broiler nutrition. A bibliographic survey was conducted for the years between 2009 and 2019, using the keywords “eubiotics,” “phytobiotics,” “essential oils,” “phytogenic extracts,” and corresponding words associated with the terms “broiler” and “poultry.” The selected articles were grouped into the categories: animal performance, histomorphology of the intestinal wall, biochemical profile, carcass characteristics, and the effect on bacteria found in the intestine. After comparisons of several parameters on the use or non-use of phytogenics, it was found that replacing antibiotics with phytogenics contributes positively to performance, the histomorphology of the intestinal wall, the biochemical profile, carcass characteristics, and the number of bacteria found in the gut. In conclusion, based on several studies found in the literature, replacing antibiotics with phytogenic additives in broiler nutrition may be viable due to their lower residual impact on the final product, in addition to their positive effect on the parameters of animal production.

xxxThe aim of this study was to evaluate the sensitivity and financial risk in two production systems of beef sheep, in grazing, with and without the use of concentrate, in Santa Teresa County - Espírito Santo State, Brazil. A cash flow spreadsheet was prepared. Through the sensitivity analysis it was shown that greater attention should be directed to the sale of finished animals and their acquisition. These, in descending order of relevance, followed by labor, in the system with no concentrate, and concentrated supplementation, in the system where it was present. Then, the Monte Carlo simulation was performed. Probabilities of 37.9 and 33.3% that the systems without and with the concentrate, respectively, were financially unfeasible were observed. Considering the alternative remuneration of 6%, there is a considerable risk for both options, perhaps because the proposed scenarios consider the need to implement all the infrastructure for the activity, in addition to the reduced size of the production module. The strategic use of concentrated supplement as a complement to pasture presents itself as an alternative that can reduce financial risk and increase income in intensive systems of production of beef sheep in grazing. The labor efficiency is an item that affects the financial efficiency of beef sheep production systems on pasture, especially in situations of weight gain of animals without the use of concentrated supplementation. The reduction of financial risk with the use of concentrated supplementation. Intensive grazing sheep production systems can be financially advantageous and the strategic use of concentrate can result in increased income and reduced financial risk associated with this type of production

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of adding ascorbic acid (AA) to the vitrification medium of bovine preantral follicles (PFs) subjected previously to cooling at 4 °C for 4 h or 24 h. Ovaries were collected from Nelore heifers at 14 months of age. In the laboratory, ovarian fragments were removed from the cortical region and distributed to fragments as fresh control (C0h), and fragments to cooling at 4 ºC for 4 and 24 hours in TCM-199 plus HEPES and antibiotics. Of the cooled fragments, two were fixed as controls for each cooling time (C4h, C24h), and the remaining fragments were distributed in four vitrification treatments, using the TCM-199 medium associated with ethylene glycol and dimethyl sulfoxide (V), sucrose (VSUC) or ascorbic acid (VAA), and the treatment with ethylene glycol, dimethyl sulfoxide, sucrose and AA (VSUC+AA). After 72 h, fragments were warmed and fixed for histological analysis and mechanical follicular isolation. No difference (p>0.05) between C0h and C4h for morphologically normal PFs was detected (99.3 and 96.0%, respectively). Vitrification reduced the morphological integrity and follicular viability in all treatments compared to C0h; nevertheless, VAA treatment maintained the follicular viability like C24h (p>0.05). It is concluded that bovine PFs were conserved efficiently at 4 °C during 4 h, and the addition of ascorbic acid to the vitrification medium improved survival rates and kept the morphological integrity of the follicles.

Humic substances (HS), composed of humic acids, fulvic acids and humin, are the main components of soil organic matter and originate from biochemical transformations of compounds such as lignin, cellulose, hemicellulose, sugars, amino acids, etc. The effects of humic substances in plants are related to the increase in the absorption of nutrients, due to the influence on the permeability of the cell membrane and the chelating power, as well as photosynthesis, the formation of ATP, amino acids and proteins. Humic substances directly alter the biochemical metabolism of plants and, consequently, can influence their growth and development. However, studies on the use of SH in forage plants and pastures are scarce. In order to optimize the use of humic substances for tropical grasses, it was carried out in pots in a greenhouse. Humic substances were extracted from vermicompost, according to the International Society of Humic Substances (ISHS). For the application of humic substances, a humic solution was produced by diluting the concentrated solution in water at concentrations of (0; 12.5; 25 and 50%), and the solution was applied with a sprayer/hand sprayer (300mL). The experimental design used was completely randomized in a 2 x 4 factorial scheme (two forages, four SH doses), with 5 replications. At 45 days, the plants were cut, separating them into shoots and roots. The samples were removed from the oven for determination of dry matter, crude protein and NDF. The leaves and roots of the samples were, after weighing (for green matter) and before drying, digitalized to determine leaf area and leaf area index. The results were submitted to analysis of variance and regression at a 5% level using the "F" test. The estimates of the regression parameters were evaluated by the "t" test at a 5% significance level. The objective was to evaluate the leaf area, shoot and root yield of Brachiaria brizantha (Syn Urochloa brizantha), cv. Marandu and Panicum maximum (Syn Megathyrsus maximus) cv. Mombasa subjected to different doses of humic substances. The best doses of humic substances verified in the present study, for better yield of the shoot and root, were 50% for cv. Mombasa and 25% for cv. Marandu. The effects of humic substances in plants are related to the increase in the absorption of nutrients, due to the influence on the permeability of the cell membrane and the chelating power, as well as photosynthesis, the formation of ATP, amino acids and proteins.
