Modifications to give HOPE/MDC 2.0 the capability to solve for or consider vent forces: Mission planning, mission analysis, and software formulation
The modifications are described as necessary to give the Houston Operations Predictor/Estimator (HOPE) program the capability to solve for or consider vent forces for orbit determination. The model implemented in solving for vent forces is described along with the integrator problems encountered. A summary derivation of the mathematical principles applicable to solve/consider methodology is provided

Field survey of kabuli chickpea and dry bean plant spacing uniformity
Non-Peer ReviewedIn an effort to reduce capital expenditures, dryland growers of kabuli chickpea and dry bean in Saskatchewan have been seeding their crops with conventional seeding equipment rather than precision planters. Intra-row plant spacing has been non-uniform, and this project was undertaken to quantify that non-uniformity. Data on within-row plant spacing were collected from twenty-nine commercial growers of dry bean and kabuli chickpea in Saskatchewan during the 2000-growing season. Plant spacing was non-uniform, but the need for equipment modifications to improve plant spacing uniformity is uncertain. Preliminary experiments by the Crop Development Centre have shown a yield advantage for dry bean seeded with more uniform spacing. However, little scientific work has been done on the effect of spacing uniformity on chickpea, and the literature reveals conflicting information among crop types. It is speculated
that more uniform plant spacing will improve seed quality and reduce weed competition

Search for the Lepton-Number-Violating Decay
A sensitive search for the lepton-number-violating decay has been performed using a sample of hyperons
produced in 800 GeV/ -Cu collisions. We obtain at 90% confidence, improving on the best

Evidence for the Decay Sigma+ -> p mu+ mu-
We report the first evidence for the decay Sigma+ -> p mu+ mu- from data
taken by the HyperCP experiment(E871) at Fermilab. Based on three observed
events, the branching ratio is B(Sigma+ -> p,mu+,mu-) = [8.6 +6.6,-5.4(stat)
+/-5.5(syst)] x 10**-8. The narrow range of dimuon masses may indicate that the
decay proceeds via a neutral intermediate state, Sigma+ -> p P0, P0 -> mu+ mu-,
with a P0 mass of 214.3 +/- 0.5 MeV/c**2 and branching ratio B(Sigma+ -> p P0;
P0 -> mu+ mu-) = [3.1 +2.4,-1.(stat) +/-1.5(syst)] x 10**-8.Comment: As published in PR
