Recepcja imion zakonnych w wypowiedziach internautów

This article is part of the study of Polish religious names. The purpose is to analyse the reception of religious names by Internet users (the subject of the description was made by their comments on various Internet forums). The analysis of the methods of describing and evaluating religious names, unusual for baptismal nomenclature and names marked as ordinary Internet users, was carried out. The article uses both onomastic (especially religious onomastics) and sociolinguistic works.Niniejszy artykuł wpisuje się w nurt badań nad polskim imiennictwem zakonnym. Celem analiz uczyniono recepcję imion zakonnych przez środowisko internautów (przedmiotem opisu były wypowiedzi internautów umieszczone na różnych forach internetowych). Dokonano analizy sposobów opisu i wartościowania imion zakonnych, nietypowych dla nazewnictwa chrzestnego oraz imion zwanych przez internautów zwykłymi. W artykule wykorzystano zarówno prace onomastyczne (zwłaszcza z onomastyki religijnej), jak i socjolingwistyczne

The subject of the article is a story shown from the perspective of pedolinguistic reflection on narrative (as the essence of broadly- understood story). The initial parts of the article explain the most important theoretical issues related to narrative and narrative competence. That is important for proceeding to further considerations. The main part of the work concerns the possibility of using an ability to tell stories (from the earliest age) inspeech therapy focused on improving language communication and other aspects of child development. Thus, the purpose of the article is to emphasize the importance and the function of a story seen from the perspective of therapeutic interactions. That is why, the authors of the article present the specific features of speech therapy implemented in order to develop the narrative competence. However, this competence is not only the final effect of the therapeutic process, but also an important tool for shaping other key competences. Narrative proficiency becomes the therapeutic purpose and the tool for building various competences in the minds of individuals. The suggested strategies and forms of exercises are based on the authors’ therapeutic experience related to working with patients with various developmental disabilities. At the same time, the examples used in the paper reflect theoretical scientific debate concerning the role of narration in broadly understood therapy of various disorders.Przedmiotem artykułu jest opowieść potraktowana z perspektywy pedolingwistycznego namysłu nad narracją (będącą esencją opowieści szeroko rozumianej). W początkowych partiach tekstu zaprezentowane zostały najważniejsze zagadnienia teoretyczne dotyczące narracji i kompetencji narracyjnej, stanowiące punkt wyjścia do dalszych rozważań. Natomiast główna część pracy dotyczy możliwości wykorzystania umiejętności opowiadania (począwszy od najwcześniejszych lat życia) w procesie terapii logopedycznej nastawionej na usprawnianie komunikacji językowej i innych aspektów rozwoju dziecka. Celem artykułu jest więc podkreślenie znaczenia i funkcji opowieści po- traktowanej przez pryzmat oddziaływań terapeutycznych. Realizacji tego celu służy pokazanie specyfiki pracy logopedy nad rozwijaniem kompetencji narracyjnej, która w perspektywie, jaką przyjęły autorki, jest nie tylko finalnym efektem terapii, ale też ważnym narzędziem osiągnięcia sprawności w zakresie innych kompetencji kluczowych. Sprawność narracyjna staje się celem terapeutycznym i narzędziem budowania kompetencji w umysłach jednostek. Zaproponowane strategie postępowania i formy ćwiczeń oparte zostały na doświadczeniach autorek w pracy terapeutycznej stosowanej w odniesieniu do pacjentów z różnymi deficytami rozwojowymi. Wychowanie do wartości dziecka z ASD – fundamenty terapeutyczne

This article is both theoretical and practical, and it presents two basic therapeutic foundations that should be taken into account in the therapy of autistic children whom we want to teach values. The aim of the article is to justify the choice of linguistic competences and the ability to mentalize as two main areas on which therapy should be based (especially the therapy with goals of educating children for values). The first part of the text focuses on these two areas: language and mentalizing, and their scientific background in working with children with ASD. A lot of space in the article was dedicated to the concept of mentalizing, which is less known to therapists and special educators. Among other things, the neurobiological determinants of this process, its relationship with learning, and interdependencies with linguistic competences, were indicated. The second part of the article presents, based on many years of practical experience of the author of the text, selected therapeutic techniques (such as the communication technique: face-to-face dialogue, the technique of keeping a diary or the emotional regulation training) which help children achieve the goals of learning relationships and education for values.Niniejszy artykuł ma charakter teoretyczny i stanowi prezentację dwóch podstawowych fundamentów terapeutycznych, które powinny zaistnieć w oddziaływaniu terapeutycznym osób pracujących z dzieckiem z autyzmem, jeśli pragnie się dążyć do przekazywania im wartości. Celem artykułu jest uzasadnienie wyboru kompetencji językowych i zdolności do mentalizowania jako dwóch podstawowych obszarów, na których terapia winna być budowana (zwłaszcza terapia stawiająca sobie m.in. cele wychowywania do wartości). W pierwszej części tekstu uwaga został skupiona właśnie na tych dwóch obszarach – języku i mentalizowaniu – i ich ugruntowaniu naukowym w pracy z dziećmi z ASD. Szczególnie dużo miejsca zostało poświęcone mniej znanemu terapeutom i pedagogom specjalnym pojęciu mentalizowania. Wskazano między innymi uwarunkowania neurobiologiczne tego procesu, jego związek z uczeniem się, czy współzależności z kompetencjami językowymi. W drugiej części artykułu zaprezentowano, w oparciu o długoletnie doświadczenie praktyczne autorki tekstu, wybrane techniki terapeutyczne (jak np. technika komunikacyjna – dialog twarzą w twarz, technika prowadzenia dziennika wydarzeń czy trening regulacji emocji), które pomagają w realizacji celów nauki relacji i wychowywania do wartości

Znaczenie zabawki w terapii autyzmu Wybrane aspekty

The article is a sketch constituting a fragment of scientific consideration of a toy understood as a therapeutic tool. The subject of deliberations is a work of speech therapist with autistic children at the pre-school age, with special focus on the therapy of social competences, understanding emotions, learning a language and logical thinking, practicing memory, as well motivational aspects of a toy. The purpose of the article is to show the function of a toy in autistic child therapy. Therefore, the text should be read as a kind of guide on the possibility of using the toy mainly in the speech-therapist’s office (as it has been written from the speech therapist’s point of view), however, it is addressed to all people working with children – including psychologists, pedagogues, carers and parents. The suggested usage of toys is applied and verified in therapy based on the method of individual work with a disturbed child, and the participatory observation method was used to collect research materials for the article.Significant conclusions from the observations include:-          toys play an important role in the therapy of social behavior, as the whole therapeutic process aims at shaping social competences, and the use of toys also gives the opportunity to continue playing outside the speech-therapist’s office;-          a toy is a great tool supporting speech development, it facilitates the introduction and consolidation of grammatical categories;-          toys inspire group activities, which have highly therapeutic functions;-          toys motivate the child to actively participate in therapy.Artykuł jest szkicem naukowego namysłu nad zabawką rozumianą jako narzędzie terapeutyczne. Przedmiotem rozważań uczyniłyśmy pracę terapeuty-logopedy z dziećmi autystycznymi w wieku przedszkolnym, koncentrując się na terapii kompetencji społecznych i rozumienia emocji, kształceniu językowym, nauce logicznego myślenia i ćwiczeniu pamięci, a także na aspekcie motywacyjnym zabawki. Celem artykułu jest ukazanie funkcji zabawki w pracy z dzieckiem autystycznym. Należy go traktować jako pewnego rodzaju poradnik na temat możliwości wykorzystania zabawki głównie w gabinecie logopedycznym (bo został napisany z perspektywy logopedów-praktyków), aczkolwiek skierowany jest on do wszystkich osób pracujących z dziećmi – również psychologów, pedagogów, opiekunów i rodziców. Zaproponowane użycia zabawek są stosowane i weryfikowane w terapii opartej na metodzie indywidualnej pracy z dzieckiem zaburzonym, a metodą zbierania materiałów badawczych do artykułu była obserwacja uczestnicząca.  Do istotniejszych wniosków z poczynionych obserwacji należą:- zabawki spełniają ważną rolę w terapii zachowań społecznych, jako że cały proces terapeutyczny zmierza do kształtowania kompetencji - społecznych, a zastosowanie zabawki daje dodatkowo możliwość kontynuowania zabawy poza sytuacją gabinetową;- zabawka jest doskonałym narzędziem wspomagającym progresję mowy, ułatwia chociażby wprowadzanie i utrwalanie kolejnych kategorii gramatycznych;- zabawki inspirują wspólne aktywności, co ma znaczenie wysoce terapeutyczne;- zabawki motywują dziecko do aktywnego udziału w terapii

Comprehensive molecular characterization of gastric adenocarcinoma

Gastric cancer is a leading cause of cancer deaths, but analysis of its molecular and clinical characteristics has been complicated by histological and aetiological heterogeneity. Here we describe a comprehensive molecular evaluation of 295 primary gastric adenocarcinomas as part of The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) project. We propose a molecular classification dividing gastric cancer into four subtypes: tumours positive for Epstein–Barr virus, which display recurrent PIK3CA mutations, extreme DNA hypermethylation, and amplification of JAK2, CD274 (also known as PD-L1) and PDCD1LG2 (also knownasPD-L2); microsatellite unstable tumours, which show elevated mutation rates, including mutations of genes encoding targetable oncogenic signalling proteins; genomically stable tumours, which are enriched for the diffuse histological variant and mutations of RHOA or fusions involving RHO-family GTPase-activating proteins; and tumours with chromosomal instability, which show marked aneuploidy and focal amplification of receptor tyrosine kinases. Identification of these subtypes provides a roadmap for patient stratification and trials of targeted therapies

The paper synthetically describes explanations of the etymology of name Elisabeth existing in linguistic studies. It also introduces the functioning of this name in anthroponymy – as a secular and religious name, a basis for creating surnames. It also presents its presence in spiritual and material culture of Cracow

The (in)dependency between religious and baptism names

Przedmiotem niniejszego artykułu, wpisującego się w nurt badań onomastyki religijnej, było zbadanie, czy w zakonie karmelitów bosych istnieje zależność między imieniem zakonnym a imieniem chrzestnym. Jako materiał do badań wybrano imiona karmelitów bosych prowincji polskiej (podstawę opracowania stanowił kompletny spis imion zakonników od początku powstania zakonu do końca XX w.). W artykule przybliżona została kwestia dotycząca praktyki zmiany imienia w opisywanym zakonie na tle innych zgromadzeń oraz przeanalizowano imiona zakonne w zestawieniu z imionami chrzestnymi zakonników. Ujęcie diachroniczne pozwoliło pokazać przemiany w zakresie zależności imion zakonnych od chrzestnych w ciągu wieków oraz wskazać czynniki, które na to wpływały.This article is part of the current research on the Polish religious names. It includes the analysis of all religious names of Discalced Carmelites of the Polish province (more than a thousand names) for their dependence or independence from the baptismal names. Wide time frame (from the beginning 17th to the end of the 20th century) allows to present the results of analyses taking into account the diachronic conclusions, as well as effect of the events from the history of the Church on the names discussed in the paper

The article touches on the problems of how religious names function in Polish anthroponymy. It includes analysis of how the name Maria functions as a religious name. Religious names of 19 Polish women’s religious orders, all assigned between the sixteenth and twentieth centuries, were analysed (includes lists of the names of the religious orders in which sisters changed their names, and where the name Maria, or other names under the patronage of the Blessed Virgin Mary, were used). The function of the name Maria as a female monastic name largely depends on the given assembly and its spirituality. Looking diachronically at the use of particular names, one can say that even within the orders there was some kind of religious taboo about assigning the name Maria, in a way similar to that existing in the laity naming (although it did not concern all orders to the same extent)

The paper contains the analysis of a fragment of a seventeenth-century monument – a prayer book written by a nun-Carmelite. The selected part: Obiecadło duchowne... is a certain entity, and it stands out from the whole monument due to its form – Abecedarius. The article presents pragmalinguistic view on this text. From the described aspects, one can list: what the analyzed passage says about the sender and the recipient, what was the communication goal of the writer, what type of speech acts the text represents, what functionalities it includes, as well as how the text was formed in terms of language
