    Distributed Flocking Control of Aerial Vehicles Based on a Markov Random Field

    The distributed flocking control of collective aerial vehicles has extraordinary advantages in scalability and reliability, \emph{etc.} However, it is still challenging to design a reliable, efficient, and responsive flocking algorithm. In this paper, a distributed predictive flocking framework is presented based on a Markov random field (MRF). The MRF is used to characterize the optimization problem that is eventually resolved by discretizing the input space. Potential functions are employed to describe the interactions between aerial vehicles and as indicators of flight performance. The dynamic constraints are taken into account in the candidate feasible trajectories which correspond to random variables. Numerical simulation shows that compared with some existing latest methods, the proposed algorithm has better-flocking cohesion and control efficiency performances.     Multi-Robot Motion Planning: A Learning-Based Artificial Potential Field Solution

    Motion planning is a crucial aspect of robot autonomy as it involves identifying a feasible motion path to a destination while taking into consideration various constraints, such as input, safety, and performance constraints, without violating either system or environment boundaries. This becomes particularly challenging when multiple robots run without communication, which compromises their real-time efficiency, safety, and performance. In this paper, we present a learning-based potential field algorithm that incorporates deep reinforcement learning into an artificial potential field (APF). Specifically, we introduce an observation embedding mechanism that pre-processes dynamic information about the environment and develop a soft wall-following rule to improve trajectory smoothness. Our method, while belonging to reactive planning, implicitly encodes environmental properties. Additionally, our approach can scale up to any number of robots and has demonstrated superior performance compared to APF and RL through numerical simulations.     A Heterogeneous Systems Public Key Encryption with Equality Test in Smart City

    Smart cities have been identified as areas which are urbanized and utilize diverse types of electronic data collection sensors that are used to oversee resources and assets efficiently. Smart meters are a unit of smart cities and they collect information about users and their consumption patterns. Consequently, the Internet of Things (IoT) being at a steady evolution has prompted multiple users into having their data collected from smart meters, stored on cloud servers. This is a way of saving costs and time involved in accessing the data. In spite of that, the cloud-assisted IoT faces privacy and security issues. This is as a result of the cloud servers possessing an untrusted nature. Due to this, it is essential for the data accumulated from the smart meters be encrypted hitherto outsourcing it to the cloud server. However, having encrypted data in the cloud server leads to a complication when it comes to accessing the data. For users who are on a different public key system, it becomes illogical for the users to first download the entire data on the cloud in order to access the required data. Therefore to resolve this issue, a heterogeneous systems public key encryption with equality test (HS-PKE-ET) scheme was proposed. The HS-PKE-ET scheme integrates certificateless public cryptography with equality test (CLC-ET) with the public key encryption with equality test (PKI-ET). This scheme allows an authorized cloud server to determine if two encryptions encrypted within heterogeneous systems possess equivalent messages. Basing on the random oracle model, the proposed scheme’s security is stated under the bilinear Diffie-Hellman assumption together with the computational Diffie-Hellman assumption. Ultimately the size of storage, computation complexities and properties with other related works are focused on and illustrations indicate our proposed scheme reflects a good performance

    SOX7 is involved in polyphyllin D-induced G0/G1 cell cycle arrest through down-regulation of cyclin D1

    The incidence of mortality of prostate cancer (PCa) has been an uptrend in recent years. Our previous study showed that the sex-determining region Y-box 7 (SOX7) was low-expressed and served as a tumor suppressor in PCa cells. Here, we describe the effects of polyphyllin D (PD) on proliferation and cell cycle modifications of PCa cells, and whether SOX7 participates in this process. PC-3 cells were cultured in complete medium containing PD for 12, 24, and 48 h. MTT assay was used to investigate the cytotoxic effects of PD. Cell cycle progression was analyzed using propidium iodide (PI) staining, and protein levels were assayed by Western blot analysis. Our results showed low expression of SOX7 in PCa tissues/cells compared to their non-tumorous counterparts/RWPE-1 cells. Moreover, PD inhibited the proliferation of PC-3 cells in a dose- and time-dependent manner. PD induced G0/G1 cell cycle arrest, while co-treatment with short interfering RNA targeting SOX7 (siSOX7) had reversed this effect. PD downregulated SOX7, cyclin D1, cyclin-dependent kinase 4 (CDK4), and cyclin-dependent kinase6 (CDK6) expressions in a dose-dependent manner, whereas co-treatment of siSOX7 and PD rescued the PD-inhibited cyclin D1 expression. However, no obvious changes were observed in CDK4 or CDK6 expression. These results indicate that SOX7 is involved in PD-induced PC-3 cell cycle arrest through down-regulation of cyclin D1

    Norcantharidin induces G2/M arrest and apoptosis via activation of ERK and JNK, but not p38 signaling in human renal cell carcinoma ACHN cells

    Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is generally acknowledged as the most resistant primary malignancy unresponsive to conventional radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatments. Norcantharidin (NCTD), a therapeutic compound derived from medicinal plants, has been shown to trigger apoptosis, as well as antimetastatic and antioxidant activities in several tumor cells. However, NCTD’s mechanism of antitumor activity in the RCC cell line remains unclear. In this study, we report that NCTD led to a time- and dose-dependent inhibition of cell proliferation. It had also markedly induced apoptosis and G2/M phase cell cycle arrest in a dose-dependent manner by decreasing the expressions of pro-caspase-3, pro-caspase-9, cyclin B1, and pCDC25C while increasing active caspase-3, cleaved-PARP, P21, and pCDC2 levels. Interestingly, NCTD treatment provoked the phosphorylation of extracellular-regulated protein kinase (ERK) and c-Jun-N-terminal kinase (JNK), but not of p38 MAPK. Moreover, SCH772984 and SP600125, ERK and JNK inhibitors, respectively, could partially abolish NCTD-induced apoptosis and G2/M phase cell cycle arrest. Collectively, these findings suggest that NCTD might activate JNK and ERK signaling pathways, consequently inducing apoptosis and G2/M arrest through the modulation of related proteins. This study provided evidence that NCTD is a promising therapeutic drug for the treatment of RCC

    Long-Term Effects of Tai Chi Intervention on Sleep and Mental Health of Female Individuals With Dependence on Amphetamine-Type Stimulants

    Previous studies provide evidence that Tai Chi (TC) can reduce the symptoms of sleep problems and be of benefit for the rehabilitation of substance abusers. In this study, we investigated if TC practice can improve sleep quality and mood of females who are dependent on amphetamine-type stimulant (ATS). Eighty subjects were randomly assigned to TC intervention and standard care (SC) for 6 months. We applied analysis of variance on repeated-measure with the year of drug dependence as the covariate to test the changes of the self-rated Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS), as well as fitness after 3 and 6 months. Relapse investigation was conducted by checking the database of China's National Surveillance System on Drug Abuse and that of the Shanghai Drug Control Committee's illicit drug dependents. Our investigation focused on the relapse of participants who had undergone and completed treatment in the Shanghai Mandatory Detoxification and Rehabilitation Center in 2015. The result showed that the PSQI scores of sleep duration [F(2, 92) = 9.86], need for sleep medications [F(2, 92) = 36.44] and daytime dysfunction [F(2, 92) = 5.15] were found to have a significant difference by time × group interaction after 6 months. SDS showed no significant difference between the two groups; however, the score of SDS in TC decreased after 6-month intervention, and no changes were observed in SC. Pulse rate had significantly decreased in the TC group compared with the SC group after 6 months. 9.5% (4) ATS dependents in TC and 26.3% (10) ATS dependents in SC were found to have relapsed. Our result suggested that TC had positive effects on sleep quality, depression and fitness. Long-term study demonstrated that TC may be a cheap and potential supplementary treatment for ATS-dependent individuals. TC may also be considered as an alternative exercise to escalate abstinence for ATS-dependent females.Clinical trial registration: ChiCTR-IPR-14005343 chictr. org.c

    Spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) is a rare cause of acute coronary syndrome in young persons, rarely found in men. There are currently no known direct causes of this condition, although some correlations have been found. We report the case of a 45-year-old man with unstable angina pectoris secondary to spontaneous diffuse spiral dissection in the right coronary artery. In addition, the patient was diagnosed with other autoimmune related diseases, for example hypothyroidism, chronic atrophic gastritis, lung emphysema, which suggesting that autoimmune mechanism is an important mechanism for the occurrence of SCAD
