Search for C=+C=+ charmonium and bottomonium states in e+e−→γ+Xe^+e^-\to \gamma+ X at B factories

We study the production of C=+C=+ charmonium states XX in e+e−→γ+Xe^+e^-\to \gamma + X at B factories with X=ηc(nS)X=\eta_c(nS) (n=1,2,3), χcJ(mP)\chi_{cJ}(mP) (m=1,2), and 1D2(1D)^1D_2(1D). In the S and P wave case, contributions of tree-QED with one-loop QCD corrections are calculated within the framework of nonrelativistic QCD(NRQCD) and in the D-wave case only the tree-QED contribution are considered. We find that in most cases the QCD corrections are negative and moderate, in contrast to the case of double charmonium production e+e−→J/ψ+Xe^+e^-\to J/\psi + X, where QCD corrections are positive and large in most cases. We also find that the production cross sections of some of these states in e+e−→γ+Xe^+e^-\to \gamma + X are larger than that in e+e−→J/ψ+Xe^+e^-\to J/\psi + X by an order of magnitude even after the negative QCD corrections are included. So we argue that search for the X(3872), X(3940), Y(3940), and X(4160) in e+e−→γ+Xe^+e^-\to \gamma + X at B factories may be helpful to clarify the nature of these states. For completeness, the production of bottomonium states in e+e−e^+e^- annihilation is also discussed.Comment: 13pages, 4 figure

Regular Black Holes and Stars from Analytic f(F2)f(F^2)

We construct regular black holes and stars that are geodesically complete and satisfy the dominant energy condition from Einstein-f(F2)f(F^2) gravities with several classes of analytic f(F2)f(F^2) functions that can be viewed as perturbations to Maxwell's theory in weak field limit. We establish that regular black holes with special static metric (gttgrr=−1g_{tt} g_{rr}=-1) violate the strong energy condition and such a regular black hole with Minkowski core violates the null energy condition. We develop a formalism to perform electromagnetic duality transformations in f(F2)f(F^2). We obtain a new explicit example where the duality is a symmetry. We study the properties of the corresponding dyonic black hole. We study the geodesic motions of a particular class of solutions that we call repulson stars or black holes.Comment: Latex, 27 pages, 2 plots grouped into one figure, typos corrected, references added, further discussions on electrically-charged regular black hole

Genome-wide association analysis identifies resistance loci for bacterial blight in a diverse collection of indica rice germplasm

Bacterial blight, which is caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo), is one of the most devastating rice diseases worldwide. The development and use of disease-resistant cultivars have been the most effective strategy to control bacterial blight. Identifying the genes mediating bacterial blight resistance is a prerequisite for breeding cultivars with broad-spectrum and durable resistance. We herein describe a genome-wide association study involving 172 diverse Oryza sativa ssp. indica accessions to identify loci influencing the resistance to representative strains of six Xoo races. Twelve resistance loci containing 121 significantly associated signals were identified using 317,894 single nucleotide polymorphisms, which explained 13.3–59.9% of the variability in lesion length caused by Xoo races P1, P6, and P9a. Two hotspot regions (L11 and L12) were located within or nearby two cloned R genes (xa25 and Xa26) and one fine-mapped R gene (Xa4). Our results confirmed the relatively high resolution of genome-wide association studies. Moreover, we detected novel significant associations on chromosomes 2, 3, and 6–10. Haplotype analyses of xa25, the Xa26 paralog (MRKc; LOC_Os11g47290), and a Xa4 candidate gene (LOC_11g46870) revealed differences in bacterial blight resistance among indica subgroups. These differences were responsible for the observed variations in lesion lengths resulting from infections by Xoo races P1 and P9a. Our findings may be relevant for future studies involving bacterial blight resistance gene cloning, and provide insights into the genetic basis for bacterial blight resistance in indica rice, which may be useful for knowledge-based crop improvement. Hunting for Heavy Majorana Neutrinos with Lepton Number Violating Signatures at LHC

The neutrinophilic two-Higgs-doublet model (ν\nu2HDM) provides a natural way to generate tiny neutrino mass from interactions with the new doublet scalar Φν\Phi_\nu (H±, H, AH^\pm,~H,~A) and singlet neutrinos NRN_R of TeV scale. In this paper, we perform detailed simulations for the lepton number violating (LNV) signatures at LHC arising from cascade decays of the new scalars and neutrinos with the mass order mNR<mΦνm_{N_R}<m_{\Phi_\nu}. Under constraints from lepton flavor violating processes and direct collider searches, their decay properties are explored and lead to three types of LNV signatures: 2ℓ±4j+ET2\ell^\pm 4j+\cancel{E}_T, 3ℓ±4j+ET3\ell^\pm 4j+\cancel{E}_T, and 3ℓ±ℓ∓4j3\ell^\pm\ell^\mp 4j. We find that the same-sign trilepton signature 3ℓ±4j+ET3\ell^\pm4j+\cancel{E}_T is quite unique and is the most promising discovery channel at the high-luminosity LHC. Our analysis also yields the 95%95\% C.L. exclusion limits in the plane of the Φν\Phi_\nu and NRN_R masses at 13 (14) TeV LHC with an integrated luminosity of 100~(3000)/fb.Comment: 31 pages, 17 figures, 6 tables; v2: added a few refs and updated one ref, without other change

EASYFLOW: Keep Ethereum Away From Overflow

While Ethereum smart contracts enabled a wide range of blockchain applications, they are extremely vulnerable to different forms of security attacks. Due to the fact that transactions to smart contracts commonly involve cryptocurrency transfer, any successful attacks can lead to money loss or even financial disorder. In this paper, we focus on the overflow attacks in Ethereum , mainly because they widely rooted in many smart contracts and comparatively easy to exploit. We have developed EASYFLOW , an overflow detector at Ethereum Virtual Machine level. The key insight behind EASYFLOW is a taint analysis based tracking technique to analyze the propagation of involved taints. Specifically, EASYFLOW can not only divide smart contracts into safe contracts, manifested overflows, well-protected overflows and potential overflows, but also automatically generate transactions to trigger potential overflows. In our preliminary evaluation, EASYFLOW managed to find potentially vulnerable Ethereum contracts with little runtime overhead.Comment: Proceedings of the 41st International Conference on Software Engineering: Companion Proceedings. Effect of dose and types of the water reducing admixtures and superplasticizers on concrete strength and durability behaviour:A review

    Get PDF
As one of the concrete admixtures, water reducing admixtures and superplasticizers are usually used to re-duce the mixing water volume and improve the performance of the harden concrete while maintaining better workability of the fresh concrete. However, the concrete strength and durability properties are affected differently by different types and dosages of the water reducing admixtures and superplasticizers. Based on the published literatures, this paper comprehensively reviews and analyzes this problem. Different types of the concretes, including ordinary Portland cement concrete, ordinary Portland cement concrete containing pozzolan, fly ash and ground granulated blast furnace slag, calcium sulfoaluminate cement concrete, ferrite aluminate cement concrete, recycled aggregates concrete, lightweight aggregate concrete, self-compacting concrete and ultra-high performance concrete, are considered to discuss the influence of types and dosages of the water reducing admixtures and superplasticizers on their strengths. Water absorption, frost resistance and permeability resistance of the concrete are mainly reviewed to discuss this influence on the durability properties of the concrete. Then, some suggestions on the application of the water reducing admixtures and superplasticizers in reinforced concrete structures and projects are proposed.</p
