Probing dark particles indirectly at the CEPC
When dark matter candidate and its parent particles are nearly degenerate, it
would be difficult to probe them at the Large Hadron Collider directly. We
propose to explore their quantum loop effects at the CEPC through the golden
channel process . We use a renormalizable toy model
consisting of a new scalar and a fermion to describe new physics beyond the
Standard Model. The new scalar and fermion are general multiplets of the
symmetry, and couple to the muon lepton through Yukawa
interaction. We calculate their loop contributions to anomalous
and couplings which can be applied to many new
physics models. The prospects of their effects at the CEPC are also examined
assuming a 0.002 accuracy in the cross section measurement
Dendrobium officinale
Background. Dendrobium officinale (DO) Kimura et Migo is a precious Chinese herb that is considered beneficial for health due to its antioxidant and antidiabetes properties, and so on. In this research, we try to determine the preventive effect of DO on the early complications of STZ-induced diabetic rats. Methods. Type 1 diabetic rats were produced with a single intraperitoneal injection of STZ (50 mg/kg). DO (1 g/kg/day) was then orally administered for 5 weeks. Blood glucose, TC, TG, BUN, CREA, and GSH-PX levels were determined, and electroretinographic activity and hypoalgesia were investigated. Pathological sections of the eyes, hearts, aortas, kidneys, and livers were analyzed. Results. Treatment with DO significantly attenuated the serum levels of TC, TG, BUN, and CREA, markedly increased the amplitudes of ERG a- and b-waves and Ops, and reduced the hypoalgesia and histopathological changes of vital organs induced by hyperglycemia. The protective effect of DO in diabetic rats may be associated with its antioxidant activity, as evidenced by the marked increase in the serum level of glutathione peroxidase. However, DO had no significant effect on blood glucose levels and bodyweight of diabetic rats. Conclusions. DO supplementation is an effective treatment to prevent STZ-induced diabetic complications
The effect of personalized intervention on the cognitive function of elderly inpatients
目的 对住院老年患者进行早期认知功能护理干预,评价其效果。方法 2013年1月—2015年1月入院老年科病房的120名患者,运用MMSE量表对其认知功能进行评价,观察干预效果。结果 MMSE总分及MMSE量表中时间定向、短期记忆及插画条目干预后有改善(P<0.05),地点定向、语言记忆、注意力、物品命名、语言复述、阅读能力、语言能力及语言表达条目改善不明显(P>0.05)。 结论 个性化的认知干预能够延缓和改善患者认知功能障碍,提高老年患者的生活质量。Objectives: To assess the effect of the early cognitive function nursing intervention on the cognitive function of elderly inpatients. Methods: A total of 120 elderly inpatients in geriatrics ward were rolled from January 2013 to January 2015, and we evaluate the cognitive function of them and gave personalized intervention to them by MMSE scale. Results: The total score of MMSE was increased (P<0.05); The entries of time orientation, short-term memory and illustration were improved significantly after three-month intervention (P<0.05); The entries of place orientation, language, memory, attention, article name, repeat language, reading skills, language skills and language were not improved significantly. Conclusions: Personalized cognitive intervention could improve the cognitive dysfunction and the quality of life of elderly patients
Detection of a ~ 0.1c radio knot in M81* associated with a moderate X-ray flare
Through very long baseline interferometry observations of one of the closest
low-luminosity active galactic nuclei M81* at multifrequencies of 8.8, 22 and
44GHz, a bright discrete knot with an unusual low apparent speed 0.1c was
detected. Combining with the contemporary monitoring of X-rays data at 2-10keV,
it indicates that a moderate X-ray flare happened when the knot launched from
the core region. Three possible origins of the knot are proposed to explain our
observational results. They are an episodic jet ejection, a low-speed shock
wave, and a possible secondary black hole in a binary system, respectively.
Future intensive multiwavelength monitoring can help to understand the discrete
knot as well as the central black hole better
Financial rogue waves
The financial rogue waves are reported analytically in the nonlinear option
pricing model due to Ivancevic, which is nonlinear wave alternative of the
Black-Scholes model. These solutions may be used to describe the possible
physical mechanisms for rogue wave phenomenon in financial markets and related
