A note on the generalized Geroch conjecture for complete spin manifolds

Let WW be a closed area enlargeable manifold in the sense of Gromov-Lawson and MM a noncompact spin manifold, we show that the connected sum M#WM\# W admits no complete metric of positive scalar curvature. When W=TnW=T^n, this provides a positive answer to the generalized Geroch conjecture in the spin setting.Comment: 4 pages, comments are welcome

Nonlinear dynamic characteristic of the spindle-cutter system

A nonlinear dynamic model of spindle-cutter coupling system under cutting force, which takes into account the cutter stiffness and the nonlinearity of bearing clearance, is established. Analysis of the cross-section of a two-flute end mill is conducted to determine cutter stiffness. Then, the calculated cutter stiffness is introduced into the nonlinear dynamic model of coupling system. In the modeling of cutting force, the cutting width takes into account the cutter tip displacement. Moreover, nonlinear dynamic characteristics of spindle-cutter coupling system are studied and the effects of bearing clearance on the response of cutter tip are discussed as well, considering unbalanced force. The numerical results show that the bearing clearance strongly affects the equilibrium position. With different values of bearing clearance and rotation speed, the responses of cutter tip exhibit periodic, quasi-periodic and chaotic characteristics. Dynamic characteristics of spindle-cutter system depends on the bearing clearance and rotation speed. The proper bearing clearance and rotation speed should be chosen to ensure a stable cutting and high cutting rate according to the bifurcation diagram. The response of the cutter tip is a quasi-periodic motion when the cutting force is considered. The time-domain response of cutter tip predicted by nonlinear dynamic analysis can provide the basis for machining error prediction

To reduce the thermal deformation of ball screws, the process of nano coating preparation for coating on ball screws to reduce temperature rise and thereby thermal deformation was discussed in this article. Simultaneously, the cooling mechanism was presented. The thermal channels and the relatively even distribution of graphene in the nano coating were observed in scanning electron microscopic images. In terms of the preparation of nano coating, optimization design was carried out to obtain the optimized material ratio and nozzle flow through orthogonal experiment. The influence of design parameters of nano coating on reducing thermal deformation was also discussed. The experimental results show that the maximum temperature rise, thermal deformation, and time to reach thermal balance decreased by 12.5, 69.1, and 46.3%, respectively. The effectiveness of nano coating in reducing thermal deformation was validated experimentally

Gastric microbiota dysbiosis and Helicobacter pylori infection

Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection is one of the most common causes of gastric disease. The persistent increase in antibiotic resistance worldwide has made H. pylori eradication challenging for clinicians. The stomach is unsterile and characterized by a unique niche. Communication among microorganisms in the stomach results in diverse microbial fitness, population dynamics, and functional capacities, which may be positive, negative, or neutral. Here, we review gastric microecology, its imbalance, and gastric diseases. Moreover, we summarize the relationship between H. pylori and gastric microecology, including non-H. pylori bacteria, fungi, and viruses and the possibility of facilitating H. pylori eradication by gastric microecology modulation, including probiotics, prebiotics, postbiotics, synbiotics, and microbiota transplantation

In the crystal structure of the title compound, C22H17BrO6, the quinone ring makes a dihedral angle of 81.84 (3)° with the benzene ring. The chiral C atoms, viz. the ring C atoms bearing the hydroxy and bromophenyl substituents, exhibit R and S configurations, respectively. The terminal ethyl group of the –CO2CH2CH3 group is disordered over two sets of sites with site-occupancy factors of 0.64 (1) and 0.36 (1). Intermolecular O—H⋯O interactions further stabilize the crystal packing

BackgroundDiabetes mellitus is a systematic disease which exert detrimental effect on bone tissue. The repair and reconstruction of bone defects in diabetic patients still remain a major clinical challenge. This study aims to investigate the potential of bone tissue engineering approach to improve bone regeneration under diabetic condition.MethodsIn the present study, decalcified bone matrix (DBM) scaffolds were seeded with allogenic fetal bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) and cultured in osteogenic induction medium to fabricate BMSC/DBM constructs. Then the BMSC/DBM constructs were implanted in both subcutaneous pouches and large femoral bone defects in diabetic (BMSC/DBM in DM group) and non-diabetic rats (BMSC/DBM in non-DM group), cell-free DBM scaffolds were implanted in diabetic rats to serve as the control group (DBM in DM group). X-ray, micro-CT and histological analyses were carried out to evaluate the bone regenerative potential of BMSC/DBM constructs under diabetic condition.ResultsIn the rat subcutaneous implantation model, quantitative micro-CT analysis demonstrated that BMSC/DBM in DM group showed impaired bone regeneration activity compared with the BMSC/DBM in non-DM group (bone volume: 46 ± 4.4 mm3 vs 58.9 ± 7.15 mm3, *p < 0.05). In the rat femoral defect model, X-ray examination demonstrated that bone union was delayed in BMSC/DBM in DM group compared with BMSC/DBM in non-DM group. However, quantitative micro-CT analysis showed that after 6 months of implantation, there was no significant difference in bone volume and bone density between the BMSC/DBM in DM group (199 ± 63 mm3 and 593 ± 65 mg HA/ccm) and the BMSC/DBM in non-DM group (211 ± 39 mm3 and 608 ± 53 mg HA/ccm). Our data suggested that BMSC/DBM constructs could repair large bone defects in diabetic rats, but with delayed healing process compared with non-diabetic rats.ConclusionOur study suggest that biomaterial sacffolds seeded with allogenic fetal BMSCs represent a promising strategy to induce and improve bone regeneration under diabetic condition

A novel hand-eye calibration method of picking robot based on TOF camera

    Get PDF
Aiming at the stability of hand-eye calibration in fruit picking scene, a simple hand-eye calibration method for picking robot based on optimization combined with TOF (Time of Flight) camera is proposed. This method needs to fix the TOF depth camera at actual and calculated coordinates of the peach the end of the robot, operate the robot to take pictures of the calibration board from different poses, and record the current photographing poses to ensure that each group of pictures is clear and complete, so as to use the TOF depth camera to image the calibration board. Obtain multiple sets of calibration board depth maps and corresponding point cloud data, that is, “eye” data. Through the circle center extraction and positioning algorithm, the circle center points on each group of calibration plates are extracted, and a circle center sorting method based on the vector angle and the center of mass coordinates is designed to solve the circle center caused by factors such as mirror distortion, uneven illumination and different photographing poses. And through the tool center point of the actuator, the coordinate value of the circle center point on the four corners of each group of calibration plates in the robot end coordinate system is located in turn, and the “hand” data is obtained. Combined with the SVD method, And according to the obtained point residuals, the weight coefficients of the marker points are redistributed, and the hand-eye parameters are iteratively optimized, which improves the accuracy and stability of the hand-eye calibration. the method proposed in this paper has a better ability to locate the gross error under the environment of large gross errors. In order to verify the feasibility of the hand-eye calibration method, the indoor picking experiment was simulated, and the peaches were identified and positioned by combining deep learning and 3D vision to verify the proposed hand-eye calibration method. The JAKA six-axis robot and TuYang depth camera are used to build the experimental platform. The experimental results show that the method is simple to operate, has good stability, and the calibration plate is easy to manufacture and low in cost. work accuracy requirements
