A tightly-coupled GPS/INS/UWB cooperative positioning sensors system supported by V2I communication
This paper investigates a tightly-coupled Global Position System (GPS)/Ultra-Wideband (UWB)/Inertial Navigation System (INS) cooperative positioning scheme using a Robust Kalman Filter (RKF) supported by V2I communication. The scheme proposes a method that uses range measurements of UWB units transmitted among the terminals as augmentation inputs of the observations. The UWB range inputs are used to reform the GPS observation equations that consist of pseudo-range and Doppler measurements and the updated observation equation is processed in a tightly-coupled GPS/UWB/INS integrated positioning equation using an adaptive Robust Kalman Filter. The result of the trial conducted on the roof of the Nottingham Geospatial Institute (NGI) at the University of Nottingham shows that the integrated solution provides better accuracy and improves the availability of the system in GPS denied environments. RKF can eliminate the effects of gross errors. Additionally, the internal and external reliabilities of the system are enhanced when the UWB observables received from the moving terminals are involved in the positioning algorithm
WordArt Designer: User-Driven Artistic Typography Synthesis using Large Language Models
This paper introduces WordArt Designer, a user-driven framework for artistic
typography synthesis, relying on the Large Language Model (LLM). The system
incorporates four key modules: the LLM Engine, SemTypo, StyTypo, and TexTypo
modules. 1) The LLM Engine, empowered by the LLM (e.g., GPT-3.5), interprets
user inputs and generates actionable prompts for the other modules, thereby
transforming abstract concepts into tangible designs. 2) The SemTypo module
optimizes font designs using semantic concepts, striking a balance between
artistic transformation and readability. 3) Building on the semantic layout
provided by the SemTypo module, the StyTypo module creates smooth, refined
images. 4) The TexTypo module further enhances the design's aesthetics through
texture rendering, enabling the generation of inventive textured fonts.
Notably, WordArt Designer highlights the fusion of generative AI with artistic
typography. Experience its capabilities on ModelScope:

An Improved WiFi/PDR Integrated System Using an Adaptive and Robust Filter for Indoor Localization
Location-based services (LBS) are services offered through a mobile device that take into account a device’s geographical location. To provide position information for these services, location is a key process. GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) can provide sub-meter accuracy in open-sky areas using satellite signals. However, for indoor and dense urban environments, the accuracy deteriorates significantly because of weak signals and dense multipaths. The situation becomes worse in indoor environments where the GNSS signals are unreliable or totally blocked. To improve the accuracy of indoor positioning for location-based services, an improved WiFi/Pedestrian Dead Reckoning (PDR) integrated positioning and navigation system using an adaptive and robust filter is presented. The adaptive filter is based on scenario and motion state recognition and the robust filter is based on the Mahalanobis distance. They are combined and used in the WiFi/PDR integrated system to weaken the effect of gross errors on the dynamic and observation models. To validate their performance in the WiFi/PDR integrated system, a real indoor localization experiment is conducted. The results indicate that the adaptive filter is better able to adapt to the circumstances of the dynamic model by adjusting the covariance of the process noise and the robust Kalman filter is able to mitigate the harmful effect of gross errors from the WiFi positioning
Robust Visual-Inertial Navigation System for Low Precision Sensors under Indoor and Outdoor Environments
Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) has always been the focus of the robot navigation for many decades and becomes a research hotspot in recent years. Because a SLAM system based on vision sensor is vulnerable to environment illumination and texture, the problem of initial scale ambiguity still exists in a monocular SLAM system. The fusion of a monocular camera and an inertial measurement unit (IMU) can effectively solve the scale blur problem, improve the robustness of the system, and achieve higher positioning accuracy. Based on a monocular visual-inertial navigation system (VINS-mono), a state-of-the-art fusion performance of monocular vision and IMU, this paper designs a new initialization scheme that can calculate the acceleration bias as a variable during the initialization process so that it can be applied to low-cost IMU sensors. Besides, in order to obtain better initialization accuracy, visual matching positioning method based on feature point is used to assist the initialization process. After the initialization process, it switches to optical flow tracking visual positioning mode to reduce the calculation complexity. By using the proposed method, the advantages of feature point method and optical flow method can be fused. This paper, the first one to use both the feature point method and optical flow method, has better performance in the comprehensive performance of positioning accuracy and robustness under the low-cost sensors. Through experiments conducted with the EuRoc dataset and campus environment, the results show that the initial values obtained through the initialization process can be efficiently used for launching nonlinear visual-inertial state estimator and positioning accuracy of the improved VINS-mono has been improved by about 10% than VINS-mono
Robust and Accurate Wi-Fi Fingerprint Location Recognition Method Based on Deep Neural Network
Currently, indoor locations based on the received signal strength (RSS) of Wi-Fi are attracting more and more attention thanks to the technology’s low cost, low power consumption and wide availability in mobile devices. However, the accuracy of Wi-Fi positioning is limited, due to the signal fluctuation and indoor multipath interference. In order to overcome this problem, this paper proposes a robust and accurate Wi-Fi fingerprint location recognition method based on a deep neural network (DNN). A stacked denoising auto-encoder (SDAE) is used to extract robust features from noisy RSS to construct a feature-weighted fingerprint database offline. We use the combination of the weights of posteriori probability and geometric relationship of fingerprint points to calculate the coordinates of unknown points online. In addition, we use constrained Kalman filtering and hidden Markov models (HMM) to smooth and optimize positioning results and overcome the influence of gross error on positioning results, combined with characteristics of user movement in buildings, both dynamic and static. The experiment shows that the DNN is feasible for position recognition, and the method proposed in this paper is more accurate and stable than the commonly used Wi-Fi positioning methods in different scenes
An Approach to Improve the Positioning Performance of GPS/INS/UWB Integrated System with Two-Step Filter
Application of Improved Robust Kalman Filter in Data Fusion for PPP/INS Tightly Coupled Positioning System
A robust Kalman filter improved with IGG (Institute of Geodesy and Geophysics) scheme is proposed and used to resist the harmful effect of gross error from GPS observation in PPP/INS (precise point positioning/inertial navigation system) tightly coupled positioning. A new robust filter factor is constructed as a three-section function to increase the computational efficiency based on the IGG principle. The results of simulation analysis show that the robust Kalman filter with IGG scheme is able to reduce the filter iteration number and increase efficiency. The effectiveness of new robust filter is demonstrated by a real experiment. The results support our conclusion that the improved robust Kalman filter with IGG scheme used in PPP/INS tightly coupled positioning is able to remove the ill effect of gross error in GPS pseudorange observation. It clearly illustrates that the improved robust Kalman filter is very effective, and all simulated gross errors added to GPS pseudorange observation are successfully detected and modified
An Approach to Improve the Positioning Performance of GPS/INS/UWB Integrated System with Two-Step Filter
The integration of Inertial Navigation System (INS) and Global Positioning System (GPS) single-point-positioning (SPP) mode cannot meet the requirements of high-accuracy navigation. Range observation through ultra-wideband (UWB) is an effective means to enhance the reliability and accuracy of GPS/INS integrated navigation, particularly in environments where GPS availability is poor. Because it is difficult for UWB signal to achieve large-scale intervention coverage, an enhanced GPS/INS/UWB integrated scheme with positioning error correction is proposed to improve the position accuracy in the UWB signal outage scenario. The position difference between the GPS/INS integrated solution and the GPS/INS/UWB integrated solution is predicated as the error correction for GPS/INS/UWB integrated navigation in a UWB signal challenging environment. Position correction information in the north and east directions is input to the two-step filter to decrease the error of GPS/INS integrated navigation in single-point-positioning. In order to validate the proposed method, a real experiment is conducted. The results indicate that the enhanced GPS/INS/UWB integrated scheme with positioning error correction is able to improve the position accuracy of GPS/INS/UWB integrated navigation when UWB signal is unavailable
