Abrangência Espacial da Neve em Santa Catarina, Brasil, nos dias 22 e 23 de julho de 2013

Snowfall in Santa Catarina (SC) occurs from April to September with more often in July and August. Eventually, the snow cover is wider and reaches areas where it is not common. This paper aims to substantiate the snow coverage in SC on July 22-23 2013. This analysis is confronted with terrain of SC state. For this, it was used two maps of the Geographic Information System (GYS), showing the cities where had snow and the distribution of these cities relative to terrain. An additional analysis was made using observed and simulated air temperature fields for the period of snowfall. The snow was registered in 126 cities localized in all mesoregions of state. We have found that, with snow coverage of 64 %, including coastal regions, the event on July 22-23 2013 was the more intense and extensive snowfall registered until now.O fenômeno neve em Santa Catarina ocorre entre os meses de abril e setembro, com maior frequência em julho e agosto. Eventualmente, a neve é espacialmente mais abrangente e atinge áreas do Estado que normalmente não registram este fenômeno. Este trabalho tem como objetivo documentar a abrangência do evento de neve ocorrido entre os dias 22 e 23 de julho de 2013. A análise é confrontada com o relevo do Estado. Para tanto, utilizou-se dois mapas do Sistema de Informações Geográficas, mostrado os municípios em que o fenômeno foi observado e a distribuição espacial da neve em relação ao relevo. Uma análise adicional é realizada utilizando campos de temperatura do ar observados e simulados numericamente para o período que efetivamente ocorreu neve. Os resultados mostraram que 126 municípios registraram neve com localização em todas as mesorregiões do Estado. Constata-se que, com a abrangência espacial de 64 %, incluindo a região litorânea, o evento de neve dos dias 22 e 23 de julho de 2013 é o mais intenso e espacialmente abrangente já registrado no Estado de Santa Catarina

O uso de geotecnologias para análise espacial das áreas de interesse ambiental: assentamento Eldorado dos Carajás, Lebon Régis, SC

The creation and development of rural settlements by the National Program of Land Reform (PNRA) should be based on the needs of the land tenure to keep the small farmers in their lands and on the land use, leading to the practice of the rural integrated development. This development is understood by social, economic and environmental needs of rural and exercised through the social function of rural property. The present work proposed to analyze the environmental dimension of the social function of rural property by application of two legal instruments for conservation imposed by the Brazilian legislation (Law 4.771/1965), APP and RL in rural settlements: the Settlement Project of Eldorado dos Carajás (PAEC). Therefore, this work proposed to use thematic maps from geographical information systems through the generation and overlaying of different plans of information. The application of the cartographic method, in an automated way using GIS, allowed data production, implementation of spatial analysis, and interpretation and presentation of results with significant reduction of time and subjectivity. The use of this methodology in GIS showed that about 52% of the rural settlements have some legal restriction imposed by the legal instruments studied. PROPOSTA DE ZONEAMENTO AMBIENTAL APLICADO À MICROBACIA DO RIO VARGEM DOS PINHEIROS, ANGELINA, SANTA CATARINA, SUL DO BRASIL

The Vargem dos Pinheiros river watershed, located in Angelina city in the state of Santa Catarina South of Brazil, has environmental attributes that are striking in their territory. At the same time, human activities potentially degrading the natural landscape exert an increasingly constant pressure on such attributes. Thus, the objective of this study is to develop a proposal of environmental zoning applied in this watershed, respecting the environmental constraints and considering the uses already established. Thus, the objective of this study is to develop a proposal of environmental zoning applied in this watershed, respecting the environmental constraints and considering the uses already established. Thematic maps were made with GIS techniques and field work obtaining as main result the Environmental Special Areas of Interest design in the environmental zoning proposal applied to the watershed. The final result came to the proposition of four zones defined in the Environmental Protection Area of Interest (with 79.35% of the territory), Environmental Control Interest Zone (with 6.92% of the territory), Zone of Interest Environmental Rehabilitation (with 12.28% of the territory) and Environmental Adjustment Interest Zone (with 1.45% of the territory). It is hoped that these results can contribute during the decision-making of public managers in interventions aimed at the development of the territorial space of sustainable and rational manner, respecting the environmental constraints and considering the uses already established. A microbacia do rio Vargem dos Pinheiros, localizada no município de Angelina no Estado de Santa Catarina possui atributos ambientais que são marcantes em seu território. Ao mesmo tempo, atividades antrópicas potencialmente degradantes à paisagem natural exercem uma pressão cada vez mais constante em tais atributos. Diante deste contexto, o objetivo do presente estudo é desenvolver uma proposta de zoneamento ambiental aplicado na referida microbacia, respeitando as condicionantes ambientais e considerando os usos já consolidados. Para isto, a metodologia utilizada neste estudo baseou-se em Souza (2004), considerando ainda a declividade, o uso e ocupação do solo e as restrições legais referentes às Áreas de Preservação Permanente (APPs) como fatores determinantes na delimitação das zonas. Realizaram-se, dessa forma, mapeamentos temáticos com o auxílio de técnicas de geoprocessamento e trabalhos de campo obtendo como principal resultado o delineamento de Zonas Especiais de Interesse Ambiental como proposta de zoneamento ambiental aplicado à microbacia do rio Vargem dos Pinheiros. Como resultado final chegou-se à proposição de quatro zonas definidas em Zona de Interesse de Proteção Ambiental (com 79,35% do território avaliado), Zona de Interesse de Controle Ambiental (com 6,92% do território avaliado), Zona de Interesse de Reabilitação Ambiental (com 12,28% do território avaliado) e Zona de Interesse de Adequação Ambiental (com 1,45% do território avaliado). Espera-se com tais resultados poder contribuir durante o processo de tomada de decisões dos gestores públicos em intervenções que visem o desenvolvimento do espaço territorial de forma sustentável e racional, respeitando as condicionantes ambientais e considerando os usos já consolidados
