Nowadays, internet becomes the main source of information. Most people rely on the internet to find the information for research and assignments. People will try to find the right articles, journals, or web pages that are related to their task. In order to choose the right materials, they have to go through every articles, journals, and web pages to find the important points. However, it is very time-consuming to find go through every long articles. This information explosion as led to a constant state of information overload problem. As the solution, a desktop application named Sentence Compressor is developed to compress the long articles. This project aims to develop a desktop application that shortens the length of the long sentences without changing the original meaning. Integer Linear Programming (ILP) techniques is used to solve the sentence compression problem. Bilingual Evaluation Understudy (BLEU) is used to measure the quality of the produced output. Five articles were randomly selected for the experiment. The BLEU score for the articles compressed by Sentence Compressor and articles compressed by human is compared. The system performance evaluation is also done to measure the usefulness of this application. More than 65% of the respondents agreed that Sentence Compressor is useful in information searching

This research focuses on the capabilities of coldArc GMAW in the behavior of heat input to the weld bead dimension. In this study, the effect of process GMAW of 308L stainless steel filler wire with a thickness of 1.2 mm and 304L stainless steel base plate, with a dimension of 120 mm x 25 mm x 10 mm (height x width x thickness) by applying WAAM. The data was collected using MATLAB of a Smart Weld Rosenthal’s Steady-State 3D Isotherms. A Taguchi response was used in the DOE method with Minitab software to analyze the effect of process parameters on height, width, and depth of weld bead dimension during GMAW. The experiments were conducted following the low, mid, and high input parameters will show the different structures of weld bead dimension, which include 70 A, 75 A, and 78 A (arc current), 15 V, 16 V, and 17 V (voltage), 400 mm/min, 600 mm/min, and 800 mm/min (welding speed). Hence, the optimum value is 75 A, 16 V, and 800 mm/min, and the most significant parameters to deposit stainless steel with coldArc GMAW were welding speed followed by arc current and voltage

Perception of Current Educational Environment, Clinical Competency, and Depression among Malaysian Medical Students in Clinical Clerkship: A Cross-Sectional Study

    No full text
The COVID-19 pandemic has altered the educational environment of medical students in clinical clerkship, with potential impacts on clinical competency and reported increased prevalence of depression. This study aimed to determine the relationship between the perception of the educational environment, self-perceived clinical competency, and depression among them. Subjects (N = 196) at the National University of Malaysia participated through convenience sampling in an online survey including sociodemographic data, COVID-19-related stressors, Dundee Ready Education Environment Measure (DREEM), self-perceived clinical competency, and Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9). The cut-off point for depression was a PHQ-9 score ≥ 15. Multiple logistic regression followed bivariate analyses to identify factors for depression. The participants (mean age: 23.2 years, SD ± 0.98 years) were mainly female (71.9%) and Malay (59.2%). The prevalence of depression was 17.4% (95% CI: 12.3–23.4%). Most participants perceived the educational environment positively. In logistic regression, ethnicity (Adjusted OR = 3.1, 95% CI: 1.2–8.1) and DREEM score were significantly associated with depression, whereas self-perceived clinical competency was not. A higher DREEM score indicating a better perception of the educational environment was linked to a lower likelihood of depression (p = 0.046). Besides ethnicity, perception of the educational environment emerged as a factor associated with depression. This relationship between the educational environment and mental well-being warrants further exploration

Haplogroups determination from RNR1 and RNR2 regions of mitochondrial DNA

    No full text
Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) has two regions, i.e. coding and control regions which are also known as hypervariation (HV) regions. Analysis of hypervariation regions or the entire human mtDNA genome is an important element that could be used during human evolutionary, forensic or phylogenetic studies. Although most human phylogenetics studies often use HV regions; the lack of information from those regions can complicate the process of haplogroup determination. Therefore, in this study, the human mtDNA coding regions such as MT-RNR1 and MT-RNR2 genes were used as an alternative to determine the haplogroups. A total of four primer pairs were designed based on MT-RNR1 and MT-RNR2 genes using the Primer Designing Tool software. The human mtDNA sequence from the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) database (accession number NC_012920.1) was used as a reference. These primers were used in the PCR amplification approach using DNA genomic samples isolated from human peripheral blood. Polymorphism analysis of MT-RNR1 and MT-RNR2 regions using the Mitomaster database was performed to determine haplogroups. The results indicated that three haplogroups were identified which are N11a, H2a and H1. In conclusion, the primers designed from mitochondrial RNR1 and RNR2 genes can be used for human haplogroup identification

Emergence of mRNA vaccines in the management of cancer

    Get PDF
Introduction mRNA vaccines have been developed as a promising cancer management. It is noted that specification of the antigen sequence of the target antigen is necessary for the design and manufacture of an mRNA vaccine. Areas covered The steps involved in preparing the mRNA-based cancer vaccines are isolation of the mRNA cancer from the target protein using the nucleic acid RNA-based vaccine, sequence construction to prepare the DNA template, in vitro transcription for protein translation from DNA into mRNA strand, 5’ cap addition and poly(A) tailing to stabilize and protect the mRNA from degradation and purification process to remove contaminants produced during preparation. Expert opinion Lipid nanoparticles, lipid/protamine/mRNA nanoparticles, and cell-penetrating peptides have been used to formulate mRNA vaccine and to ensure vaccine stability and delivery to the target site. Delivery of the vaccine to the target site will trigger adaptive and innate immune responses. Two predominant factors of the development of mRNA-based cancer vaccines are intrinsic influence and external influence. In addition, research relating to the dosage, route of administration, and cancer antigen types have been observed to positively impact the development of mRNA vaccine

Structural and Superconducting Properties of Thermal Treatment-Synthesised Bulk YBa2Cu3O7−δ Superconductor: Effect of Addition of SnO2 Nanoparticles

    No full text
YBa2Cu3O7−δ (Y-123) bulk superconductors with the addition of (0.0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, and 1.0 wt.%) SnO2 nanoparticles were synthesised via a thermal treatment method. The influence of SnO2 addition on the superconducting properties by means of critical temperature, Tc, AC susceptibility, phase formation and microstructures, including its elemental composition analysis, were studied. Sharp superconducting transition, ∆Tc, and diamagnetic transition were obtained for all SnO2-added samples. It was observed that sample x = 0.4 with a Y-123 phase percentage of 95.8% gives the highest Tc, smallest ∆Tc, and the sharpest diamagnetic transition in the normalised susceptibility curves. The microstructure also showed an excess of Sn precipitates on the sample’s surface at x = 0.8 and above. As such, the best superconducting properties were observed at x = 0.4 SnO2 addition inside the Y-123 host sample
