Background: Infertility as a psychological crisis puts too much stress on infertile couples and threatens their mental health in different ways. One of the newest methods of assisted reproduction is surrogacy. Due to unique aspects of surrogacy, this method has been considered as the most controversial assisted reproduction method in the recent years. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the attitudes of infertile women towards surrogacy. Methods: This cross-sectional study was performed on 236 infertile women referred to the Infertility Center of Afzalipour Hospital, Kerman in 2014. Samples were selected using convenience sampling method. Data were collected by a two-part questionnaire containing demographic information and attitudinal statements. Data were analyzed using logistic regression (P<0.05). Results: The mean age of infertile women was 30.17±5.93 years and the average years of infertility was 4.93±3.98 years. Most participants had a college degree (42.8%) and were housewives (73.7%). Of 236 infertile women, 82.6 percent had positive attitudes towards surrogacy and 17.4 percent had negative attitudes. There was no statistically significant relationship between attitudes of infertile women and independent variables. Conclusion: Due to the high positive attitude of infertile women towards surrogacy, making the society aware and creating the culture and basis for more acceptance of this assisted reproduction method by the community is very important. In this case, it can help in preserving family integrity

This manuscript version is made available under the CC-BY-NC-ND 4.0 license https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/Using ultrasonic irradiations, three new complexes of type [ZnL2].CH3CN, [NiLCl] and [CoL2] (where L is 2-acetylpyridine-4N-p-chlorophenylthiosemicarbazone ligand) have been prepared and investigated using various spectroscopic methods. Crystal structures of ZnL2 and NiLCl complexes displayed distorted octahedral and square-planar coordination geometry around the central metal, respectively. The UV-visible and mass spectroscopic analysis revealed 1:2 (metal:ligand) stoichiometry for Co(II) complex. The synthesized complexes have been used as precursors for preparing their corresponding nano-sized metal oxides via thermal decomposition. The nanostructures of metal oxides were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray (EDX), X–ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared (FT–IR). The in vitro antibacterial activity of thiosemicarbazone complexes and their corresponding nano-sized metal oxides were studied against a series of gram positive and gram negative bacteria, using the zone inhibition methods. While NiLCl complex was shown to possess more antimicrobial activity than its nano-sized metal oxide, the prepared nano-sized zinc and cobalt oxides have shown the highest activity.University of Guila

Background: This study aimed to evaluate the changes in fatigue of patients with coronary artery diseases after the rehabilitation intervention based on demographic and clinical variables. Methods: This study was a single-arm clinical trial with a pre and post-intervention design. The statistical population of the study included patients with coronary artery diseases who underwent coronary artery bypass surgery or percutaneous coronary interventions, 4-6 weeks after discharge, referred to Khorramabad Cardiac Rehabilitation Center. They were selected by a purposeful sampling method. The data were collected through demographic and clinical information questionnaires and Piper Fatigue Measurement Questionnaire. Education on risk factors at home (weeks 4 and 8) was presented in the area of rehabilitation, the data were analyzed with descriptive and analytical statistics in SPSS software. Results: Most of the patients were male (54.4%), married (87%), and in the age group of 47-58 years (50%). Their mean age was 54.63 ± 8.87 years, and the mean duration of heart disease in the subjects (by months) was 33.24 ± 50.84. Comparing the mean changes in fatigue after the intervention based on some influencing demographic variables of the patients, including age, gender, type of treatment, and the duration of the disease showed no significant difference (p>0.05). Conclusion: The implementation of a home cardiac rehabilitation program by nurses, as a low-cost, accessible, and feasible intervention, can be considered an effective step in reducing the fatigue of patients with coronary artery disease and should be considered by managers

Introduction: Coronary angiography is the most common angiographic procedure for diagnosis and treatment of the heart diseases. Herein, we aimed to evaluate the entrance surface dose (ESD), dose area product (DAP), as well as cancer risk in interventional cardiology procedures. Materials and Methods: This study was conducted during July-December 2015 at Shahid Madani Heart Center in Khorramabad, Iran. A total of 225 adult patients including 122 females and 103 males regardless of the risk factors for coronary diseases were participated. Of them, 199 and 26 patients underwent diagnostic coronary angiography (CA) and percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA), respectively. Each patient underwent CA or PTCA separately. All the procedures were carried out using Siemens angiography system with the pulsed fluoroscopy of 10-30 pulses/s and cine frame rate of 15 frames/s. DAP, ESD, fluoroscopy time (FT), as well as the number of sequences and frames per sequence were collected for each 199 CA and 26 PTCA procedures. Results: The median values of DAP were 19.77±14.88 and 57.11±33.36 Gy.cm2 in CA and PTCA, respectively. In addition, the median values of ESD were 323.12±245.39 and 1145.22±594.42 mGy in CA and PTCA, respectively. FTs were 114.59±74.33 s in CA and 424.15±292.93 s in PTCA. Conclusion: The average patient dose and cancer risk estimates in both CA and PTCA were consistent with the reference levels. However, in agreement with other interventional procedures, dose levels in the interventional cardiology are influenced by staff and clinical protocols, as well as the type of equipment

Introduction: In the last few decades, there has been a body of studies in effects of morphine on cognitive and non-cognitive behaviors. Moreover, pharmacological and non-pharmacological investigations have been done for attenuating morphine side effect such as anxiety and memory deficit. It seems that there is a close relationship between resveratrol and morphine on molecular cell process. Thus the aim of present investigation was to evaluated the effect of resveratrol upon decrease of anxiety and impairment of emotional memory induced by morphine during test-retest protocol in elevated plus-maze (EPM) apparatus. Material and methods: the male Wistar rat received subthreshold dose of resveratrol (50 mg/kg) before saline (1 ml/kg) or subthreshold and effective doses of morphine (1.25, 2.5 and 5 mg/kg) in the test day, 15 min interval. Twenty-four hours after test day, the EPM parameters was also measured without drug injection. All drugs were injected intraperitonealy. Results: the data indicated that morphine at higher dose used (5 mg/kg) elevated Open Arm Enters (%OAE) and Open Arm Time (%OAT) in the both days of behavioral assessment, indicating decrease of anxiety and impairment of emotional memory, respectively. Moreover, subthreshold dose of resveratrol (50 mg/kg) restored all parameters induced by higher doses of morphine in both days. Conclusion: The principal findings of this research are that resveratrol may alter morphine responses on anxiety and emotional memory process
