Significance of raise of proinflammatory cytokines level in urine at acute chronic calculous pyelonephritis

Research is conducted in urine of the maintenance proinflammatory цитокинов (IL-1 p, IL-6, IL-8) at 70 patients with staghorn nephrolithiasis, the complicated latent pyelonephritis (25) and with an aggravation of a chronic pyelonephritis (45). In comparison group 15 patients with a cystitis, in control group - 30 practically healthy faces are surveyed. It is established that at patients calculous pyelonephritis and a cystitis in urine considerable lifting of the maintenance proinflammatory cytokines takes place. For laboratory acknowledgement of an aggravation calculous pyelonephritis maintenance research in urine IL-8 has the greatest diagnostic sensitivity and specificity.

Asthenia (from Greek σθένεια impotence) is a pathological condition characterized by weakness, fatigability, emotional lability, hyperesthesia, sleep disorders. Fatigue can accompany a variety of diseases (somatic, neurological, infectious, mental ones) and develop in healthy children in certain circumstances. Unlike usual fatigue usually occuring as a result of intense mobilization of the body and which is a physiological condition, the fatigue does not disappear after rest and require provision of patient medical care

Influence of Radioactive Contamination of the Sr-90 Terrestrial Ecosystems on the Enzymatic Activity of the Soil

One of the most promising methods of soil diagnostics is the determination of the parameters of enzymatic activity. Changes in urease, invertase, dehydrogenase and catalase activity of soil subjected to radioactive contamination with radionuclide Sr-90 have been studied. When the specific activity of Sr-90 in the soil varies in the range from the control value to more than 1.5 kBq / kg, the stability of invertase, urease and dehydrogenase is established. At the same time, the catalase activity of the soil is a sensitive indicator to radioactive contamination, which is described by a reliable model with a threshold value, after which the oppression of the indicator is observed

GM2-gangliosidosis, type I (Tay – Sachs disease) in the pediatrician practice

    Get PDF
Background. GM2-gangliosidosis, type I (Tay-Sachs disease) is rare hereditary disease caused by mutations in the HEXA gene encoding the alpha subunit of lysosomal hexosaminidase A. It leads to accumulation of GM2-ganglioside in lysosomes and cell death. The major clinical signs of this disease are regression of motor and psychoverbal skills, progressive macrocephaly, diffuse muscle hypotension, convulsive disorder. Almost all patients with this disease have the “cherry red spot” symptom on the fundus of the eye.Clinical case description. We show clinical description of the patient with disease manifested with the lesion of visual analyzer. The child was sent for geneticist’s consultation due to revealed ophthalmic picture of the “cherry red spot” symptom on the fundus of the eye. Molecular genetic testing has revealed in the patient c.1274_1278 dupTATC (CI 880091) mutation in homozygous state in HEXA gene.Concllusion. Differential diagnosis of this disease should be performed with other diseases from the group of inherited metabolic diseases associated with early regression of psychomotor skills, progressive vision loss, “cherry red spot” symptom on the fundus of the eye and convulsive disorde

Microbial colonization and nosocomial infections in preterm infants in the neurosurgical hospital

Work is devoted to studying of microbial colonization and infection associated with health care in preterm infants with severe intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) to evaluate the formation of antibiotic-resistant strains and the choice of treatment. In preterm with IVH complicated by progressive hydrocephalus revealed different variations of the colonization of hospital microorganisms, which changed over hospital treatment. The main microorganisms, which colonized mucosa of oropharynx, respiratory tract and intestines, were Gram negative bacteria multiresistant to antibiotics. In patients receiving long-term antibiotic therapy (1,5 months or more), despite the use of antifungal drugs, appeared fungal flora; in 15% of cases — types of Candida non-albicans. The cause of nosocomial ventriculitis in infants with post-hemorrhagic hydrocephalus in 70% had Gram positive organisms, in 30% — combined bacterial and fungal infection. When choosing a treatment strategy for these children must take into account the results of microbiological studies and antibiogram

Experience of Cancer Research Center in the treatment of advanced germ cell tumors

The experience of CRC in the treatment of advanced germ cell tumors is reported. The analysis of factors influencing prognosis and treatment tactics is carried out. Contemporary conception of advanced germ cell tumors treatment implies the initial use of platinum based chemotherapy. After completion of chemotherapy, surgical removal of residual tumor (retroperitoneal and mediastinal lymph nodes, lung and liver metastases) carries diagnostic and curative means. Such approach allows curing 50-90% of patients depending on prognostic factors. Results of induction chemotherapy for relapses of germ cell tumors are presented separately. Treatment of this condition comprises chemotherapy with inclusion of ifosfamid or taxanes with following cytoreductive surgery. This modality allows long term remission in the fourth of patients with relapse of germ cell tumors
