T-Duality in Sigma Models with Kaluza-Klein Metric as Electric-Magnetic Duality
It is shown that the T-duality in \sigma-model with Kaluza-Klein metric,
without or with a torsion term, can be interpreted as electric-magnetic duality
for some of their solitonic solutions. Actually Buscher's duality
transformation interchanges the topological and Noether charges.Comment: 12 Pages, Late
Gli effetti della demodernizzazione e della perdita dâindividuazione nellâopera di Isabella Santacroce
This paper aims to define the issue of identity and the problems raised by globalization in relation to the search for the Self. The sociological theories of Zygmunt Bauman and Alain Touraine, specifically concerning the loss of perception on the Self, together with the loss of any reference structures typical of
modern society such as family, sexuality and ethics, underpin the analysis. As Bauman points out in his works, postmodern society â or as he called it âliquid modernityâ â has a very strong impact on the postmodern subject, leaving him/her alone in the existential fight against the global and mass society. In this paper these theories find application in Isabella Santacroceâs works, specifically in the books where the main characters deal more evidently with the search for the Self as it collides with their families â in whom they do not recognize any morality, thus
attempting to find a respite from the sorrow of psychological uncertainty through the abuse of alcohol. Similarly, these young characters misuse sexuality by making the female body an instrument of domination. In this âpost-humanâ perspective, the characters expose their social malaise by degrading themselves
in promiscuity and prostitution. Sexuality, on the other hand, also becomes the only chance to still enter into close contact with the other, a human contact that can bring love and a new dialogue
Tomography on f-oscillators
Symplectic tomographies of classical and quantum states are shortly reviewed.
The concept of nonlinear f-oscillators and their properties are recalled. The
tomographic probability representations of oscillator coherent states and the
problem of entanglement are then discussed. The entanglement of even and odd
f-coherent states is evaluated by the linear entropy
Wigner's Problem and Alternative Commutation Relations for Quantum Mechanics
It is shown, that for quantum systems the vectorfield associated with the
equations of motion may admit alternative Hamiltonian descriptions, both in the
Schr\"odinger and Heisenberg pictures. We illustrate these ambiguities in terms
of simple examples.Comment: Latex,14 pages,accepted by Int. Jour.Mod.Phy
