Open-air drawing and painting workshops carried out within the subject of freehand drawing at the Faculty of Architecture at the Silesian University of Technology

Over a decade of conducting the open-air drawing and painting workshops by the university staff from the Faculty of Architecture at the Silesian University of Technology repeatedly makes us aware that every day passing by the gothic churches, a city hall, medieval ramparts we get accustomed to them and do not always perceive their beauty, monumental character or historic details. Sometimes the beauty of the city is noticed by someone else – a tourist who admires the panorama visible from the distance or the towers of churches overlooking the city. Similarly the works of students performed over the years enable us to rediscover the unrepeatable charm of such places as Gliwice, Tarnowskie Góry, Chełmno or Zakopane. Those works catalogued in albums and presented at various exhibitions convince of peculiarity of the places presented using diverse artistic techniques and means

Visual arts used in the process of designing and realization of exhibitions at the EXPO 2020 exhibition in Dubai

W artykule zaprezentowano wybrane przykłady pawilonów oraz pokazywanych w ich wnętrzach wystaw, które obrazują szerokie spektrum możliwości zastosowanych podczas EXPO 2020 w Dubaju. Nowoczesne technologie, cyfrowe narzędzia pozwalają na przekraczanie barier i wprowadzanie widza w nowy świat, w którym może doświadczać określonych emocji. Wszystkiemu towarzyszy światło, kolor i dźwięk, widz doświadcza wielowymiarowych doznań dzięki nieograniczonej wyobraźni twórców.This paper presents selected examples of pavilions and the exhibitions presented inside them, which show the wide spectrum of possibilities applied during EXPO 2020 in Dubai. Modern technologies and digital tools allow crossing barriers and introducing the viewer to a new world, where they can experience specific emotions. Didactics in practice. Theory versus practice, exhibition activitie

artykule przedstawiono metodykę i wyniki procesu projektowego oraz badawczego prowadzonego ze studentami podczas realizacji stoiska targowego w czasie wystawy 4DD Days. Celem zadania było zrealizowanie wystawy - wielowątkowej ekspozycji, w której zakres wchodziła kreacja artystyczna samej wystawy oraz kreacja przestrzeni wystawienniczej na określonej powierzchni. Dzięki metodzie design thinking studenci stworzyli prototyp elementu wystawienniczego zrealizowanego na targach. Celem dydaktycznym było zapoznanie studentów z realnymi wyzwaniami: doświadczenie z materiałami, dużą skalą, pracą w zespole, zadaniem wykonanym w wyznaczonym terminie/czasie. Udział w takich realizacjach daje studentom możliwość skonfrontowania własnego projektu z realizacją. Pomaga poszerzyć wiedzę o zagadnienia związane z informacją wizualną, zapoznać się z projektowaniem przestrzeni o charakterze wystawienniczym (rozwiązania przestrzenne wspomagane przez kolor i grafikę).Didactics in practice. The article presents the methodology and results of the design and research process conducted with students during the construction of the exhibition stand during the 4DD Days exhibition. The aim of the task was to implement an exhibition - multi-layered exposition, which included the artistic creation of the exhibition itself and the creation of an exhibition space on a specific area. Thanks to the Design thinking method, students created a prototype of an exhibition element realized at the fair. The didactic aim was to familiarize students with the real challenges: experience with materials, large scale, team work, tasks completed within the prescribed period / time. Participation in such projects allows students to confront their own project with the implementation. It helps to broaden the knowledge of issues related to visual information, to become familiar with the design of exhibition spaces (spatial solutions supported by color and graphics)
