The Objective of this study is to know influence of nurse therapeutic communication to satisfaction of patients satisfaction in RSUD Yogyakarta. The study was a quantitative research methods such as surveys of descriptive inferential research with cross sectional approach. Number of samples in this research is 285 sample in inpatient and 140 in emergency room. The instrument used a questionnaire. Analysis of data using multiple linear regression. This study show that there is the influence of therapeutic communication nurse to satisfaction of outpatients and Emergency room in RSUD Yogyakarta, and orientation phase is a phase that most influence on patient satisfaction. The most influential to therapeutic communication is termination stage

Factor analysis for construct validity of a trunk impairment scale in Parkinson’s disease: a cross-sectional study

ObjectivesTo investigate the construct validity of the Trunk Impairment Scale (TIS), which was developed to assess trunk impairment in patients with stroke, in patients with Parkinson’s disease (PD).DesignThis retrospective, cross-sectional study enrolled consecutive PD inpatients. Correlation analysis was performed to clarify whether the TIS assessment was related to other balance functions, lower extremity muscle strength, or walking ability. Factor analysis was performed to see how the background factors of TIS differ from balance function, lower limb muscle strength, and walking ability.ResultsExamining the data of 471 patients with PD, there were relationships between TIS and the Mini-Balance Evaluation Systems Test (r = 0.67), Barthel Index (r = 0.57), general lower limb extension torque (r = 0.51), two-minute walk test (r = 0.54), Hoehn and Yahr stage (r = −0.61), and Movement Disorder Society Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale part III total points (r = −0.59). Factor analysis showed that TIS items were divided into three factors (an abdominal muscles and righting reflex component; a perception and verticality component; and a rotational component), differing from other scales that included clinical assessment items.ConclusionThe TIS can be useful for assessing the underlying trunk impairment as a basis for activities of daily living, gait function, and balance ability in patients with PD

Optical Characteristics of a Multichannel Hybrid Integrated Light Source for Ultra-High-Bandwidth Optical Interconnections

    No full text
The optical characteristics of a multi-channel hybrid integrated light source were described for an optical interconnection with a bandwidth of over 10 Tbit/s. The power uniformity of the relative intensity of a 1000-channel light source was shown, and the minimum standard deviation s of the optical power of the 200 output ports at each 25-channel laser diode (LD) array was estimated to be 0.49 dB. This hybrid integrated light source is expected to be easily adaptable to a photonics-electronics convergence system for ultra-high-bandwidth interchip interconnections

Quantum Dot Laser for a Light Source of an Athermal Silicon Optical Interposer

    No full text
This paper reports a hybrid integrated light source fabricated on a silicon platform using a 1.3 μm wavelength quantum dot array laser. Temperature insensitive characteristics up to 120 °C were achieved by the optimum quantum dot structure and laser structure. Light output power was obtained that was high enough to achieve an optical error-free link of a silicon optical interposer. Furthermore, we investigated a novel spot size convertor in a silicon waveguide suitable for a quantum dot laser for lower energy cost operation of the optical interposer

Severity scales of non-IgE-mediated gastrointestinal food allergies in neonates and infants

    No full text
Background: Non-IgE-mediated gastrointestinal food allergies (non-IgE-GI-FAs) are one type of food allergy found in neonates and infants. Few reports have defined the severity of non-IgE-GI-FAs in these populations. Methods: Grading scales of the severity of non-IgE-GI-FAs according to extra-GI symptoms, such as poor weight gain, as well as systemic symptoms, including fever and shock, were developed and retrospectively applied to patients with non-IgE-GI-FAs. The relationship between the severity of non-IgE-GI-FAs and both clinical and laboratory findings were examined. Results: Elevation of C-reactive protein levels and a decrease in total protein and albumin were observed in accordance with allergy severity. In an endoscopic examination, inflammatory findings were confirmed in large areas of the colonic mucosa in case of higher severity levels, and infiltration of inflammatory cells other than eosinophils was found in the severest grade. Extensively hydrolyzed milk or amino acid-based milk was required for all patients with the severest grade. In addition, the timing of acquiring tolerance tended to be late for this grade. Conclusions: Classification and determination of the severity of non-IgE-GI-FAs in neonates and infants may not only contribute to elucidation of the pathogenesis but may also be useful in the clinical setting. Study design of GENERAL (general practitioners and embolism prevention in NVAF patients treated with rivaroxaban: Real-life evidence): A multicenter prospective cohort study in primary care physicians to investigate the effectiveness and safety of rivaroxaban in Japanese patients with NVAF

    No full text
Background: Rivaroxaban, a direct oral anticoagulant (DOAC), has become available for stroke prevention in patients with non-valular atrial fibrillation (NVAF). However, little is known about its effectiveness and safety when prescribed by general practitioners in real-life settings. Methods: GENERAL is a multicenter, prospective, non-interventional observational study of patients receiving rivaroxaban for NVAF in daily clinical practice prescribed specifically by general practitioners. The target number of participating medical institutions is 500–700 clinics with fewer than 20 beds and the target number of participants is 5000. The baseline clinical data, including antidementia medication and frailty, and follow-up data including concomitant treatment and outcomes until September 2018 (maximum three years) will be collected. The primary efficacy endpoints will be stroke and/or systemic embolism and the secondary endpoints will be major bleeding meeting the ISTH guidelines, non-major and clinically relevant bleeding, onset of symptomatic stroke (ischemic/hemorrhagic), systemic embolism, deep vein thrombosis/pulmonary thromboembolism, myocardial infarction and/or cardiovascular death, and systemic embolism. Based on the provided information, the event assessment committee will investigate the endpoint-related events. The annual incidence and predictive factors for primary/secondary endpoint will be investigated based on underlying disease, age, renal function, and CHADS2, CHA2DS2-VASC, and HAS-BLED scores using Cox regression. We will also compare the incidence of the primary/secondary endpoint between the present study, EXPAND study, and FUSHIMI AF registry study. Results: The results of this study are currently under investigation. Conclusion: This study will provide important information regarding the effectiveness and safety of rivaroxaban treatment in Japanese patients with NVAF among general practitioners
