    Developing Students' Ability of Mathematical Connection Through Using Outdoor Mathematics Learning

    The Purpose of this study is to determine the achievement and improvement of students' mathematical connectionability through using outdoor mathematics learning. 64 students from the fifth grade of Primary School at SDN 65 and SDN 67 Bengkulu City were taken as the sample of this study. While the method of the research used in this research is experiment with quasi-experimental designs non-equivalent control group. The results of the study are as follows: (1) There is an increasing ability found in mathematical connection of students whom taught by using outdoors mathematics learning is 0,53; (2) Based on statical computation that achievement of students' ability of mathematical connection is taught by using outdoor mathematics learning score is 71,25. It is higher than the students score 66,25 which were taught by using the conventional learning.     This research initiated by some research result regarding the lower Reasoning and Mathematics Representation of student on the math learning. In order to upgrade the abilities is passing through the guided inquiry learning. The aim of the reasearch is to analyze comprehensively on accomplishment reasoning and math representation of student who gain the guided inquiry learning and conventional learning. The research is applying experiment method by design of one group pretest-posttest. The result of research indicates the guided inquiry learning is more effective in accomplishment and improvement of student representation capabilities and student comprehend compared with the conventional learning. Reasoning and Mathematics Representation of group student or guided inquiry learning is higher from the group student of conventional learning. The improvement of Mathematics Reasoning of Group Student of guided inquiry learning values 0.33 on the medium category, while the improvement of Mathematics Representation of group student of conventional learning values 0.19 on the low category. The amount of improvement on Mathematics Representation of group student of the guided inquiry learning is 0.41 on the medium category, and the improvement on Mathematics Representation of group student of conventional learning is 0.26 is on the low category

    Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan Lembar Kerja Mahasiswa (LKM) berbasis strategi REACT (Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, Transfering) untuk tutorial Statistika Pendidikan bagi mahasiswa UT, yang valid, praktis dan efektif. Pendekatan tutorial dengan menggunakan LKM berbasis REACT ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar mahasiswa dan memudahkan mahasiswa secara konseptual memahami Statistik Pendidikan serta meningkatkan kemampuan dalam mengerjakan soal-soal sehingga dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian pengembangan (developmental research) dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian 40 mahasiswa UPBJJ-UT Jember Program S1 PGSD yang mengambil mata kuliah Statistika Pendidikan. Pengembangan LKM menggunakan tahap Plomp yang terdiri dari (1) penelitian awal, (2) perancangan, (3) realisasi/konstruksi, (4) tes, evaluasi dan revisi, dan (5) implementasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa LKM berbasis REACT yang dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini telah memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis dan efektif. Lebih lanjut, hasil angket menunjukkan bahwa 76% mahasiswa merasa senang, dan 81% mahasiswa termotivasi belajar mandiri setelah belajar dengan pembelajaran berbasis strategi REACT

    Murai batu (Copsychus malabaricus) telah menjadi salah satu pilihan penghobi burung di Indonesia sejak dua puluh tahun terakhir, termasuk di Kota Bengkulu. Para penghobi burung telah mulai melakukan beberapa langkah konservasi biologi antara lain dengan melakukan upaya penetasan dan pemeliharaan anakan. Anakan murai batu dikenal cukup sulit untuk dipelihara dan akan mudah mati apabila dipisahkan dari induknya, sehingga sampai saat ini belum banyak diketahui tentang ukuran morfometriknya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi data fundamental pertumbuhan kuantitatif badan, sayap dan kaki anakan burung murai batu kelamin campuran selama pemeliharaan ex situ mulai umur 30 hari hingga fase ranggas bulu pertama. Koleksi data dilakukan dengan metode observasi dan pengukuran panjang badan, panjang sayap dan panjang kaki setiap minggu. Data kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa panjang badan anakan murai batu kelamin campuran bervariasi antara 44,9 mm sampai 52,2  mm dengan rata-rata 49,56 mm/ekor, panjang sayap antara 100,4  mm sampai 115,5  mm dengan rata-rata 107,25 mm/ekor, dan panjang kaki antara 50,2  mm sampai 53,2 mm dengan rata-rata 51,45 mm/ekor. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa terjadi pertambahan ukuran kuantitatif (panjang badan, panjang sayap dan panjang kaki) anakan murai batu hingga fase ranggas bulu pertama

    Indonesia memiliki banyak plasma nutfah berupa tanaman yang berpotensi untuk difungsikan sebagai bahan pakan ternak baik yang diposisikan sebagai bahan pakan utama ataupun suplemen dengan tujuan tertentu. Tanaman katuk (Sauropus androgynus) dalam beragam bentuk dan formulasi telah disuplementasikan untuk meningkatkan status reproduksi ternak. Sedangkan jantung pisang telah lama dipergunakan oleh beberapa kalangan masyarakat guna memperbaiki status reproduksi. Pada penelitian ini beberapa bagian tanaman katuk dan beberapa jenis jantung pisang diuji kandungan senyawa steroidnya (skrining) menggunakan metode Simes et al. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tanaman katuk positif mengandung senyawa metabolit steroid (+) baik dari bagian daun (+), batang (+) serta campuran daun dan batang (+). Sedangkan jantung pisang raja, srindit, batu dan jantan seluruhnya negatif mengandung senyawa metabolit steroid (-). Dari hasil skrining fitokimia dapat disimpulkan bahwa tanaman katuk mengandung senyawa metabolit steroid yang berperan penting pada biosintesa hormon steroid ternak betina sedangkan jantung pisang tidak mengandung senyawa metabolit steroid

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesulitan-kesulitan siswa SMP Kota Bengkulu dalam menyelesaikan soal-soal PISA ((Programme for International Student Assessment). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 100 orang, siswa kelas VIII dari SMP 2, 4, 6, 11, 16, dan SMP IT Kota Bengkulu. Hasil penelitian sebagai berikut: 1) Kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal-soal PISA pada sekolah level tinggi adalah 59,39, sekolah level sedang adalah 43,75, dan sekolah level rendah adalah 28,01. 2) Kesulitan-kesulitan siswa yang dialami siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal-soal PISA sebagai berikut: a. Kesulitan dalam memahami soal; b. Kesulitan dalam mengkaitkan aspek kehidupan nyata ke dalam permasalahan (model) matematika; c. Kesulitan dalam melakukan operasi matematika; dan d. Kesulitan dalam menginterpretasikan hasil penyelesaian matematika ke masalah dunia nyata

    This study aims to prove empirically the effect of effective leadership, work environment, and competence on the performance of echelon IV officials in North Bengkulu Regency. This type of quantitative research uses a survey method. The population was all Echelon IV officials in the Regional Government of North Bengkulu Regency, totaling 659 echelon IV officials and a sample of 249 people. Data were processed using the SPSS program with multiple linear regression. The data collection technique used a questionnaire. The data analysis method consisted of data quality test, classical assumption test, and hypothesis testing. Research results: effective leadership, work environment, and competence have a positive and significant effect on the performance of echelon IV employees in North Bengkulu Regency. Changes in the performance of echelon IV employees in North Bengkulu Regency are determined by effective leadership, work environment, and competence by 41.6%. Suggestion: in carrying out the main duties and functions of each regional work units, echelon IV officials are expected to apply effective leadership behavior that is relationship-oriented or change-oriented, to create a comfortable work environment in support of employee performance improvement, regional work units should propose and budget for improvement. the quality of work facilities and infrastructure through programs and activities in each regional work units, to improve the performance of echelon IV officials in North Bengkulu Regency, it is hoped that the Regional Government will provide opportunities for echelon IV officials to increase their competence through leadership education and training, and provide support The budget for Education and Training activities and other technical training, as well as through related agencies (BKPSDM) in placing employees in echelon IV positions must be in accordance with the competence of their duties and jobs (the right man and the right job)
