    Implementasi manajemen akreditasi perpustakaan perguruan tinggi berstandar nasional di Universitas Negeri Malang

    University library accreditation aims to improve library quality. In order to get formal recognition from the state, university libraries apply for accreditation to the National Library to assess whether they have met national standards. This study aimed to determine implementation the management of university library accreditation with national standards at the University of Malang (UM). The research method used the descriptive qualitative method, which described management functions performed by UM library in the university library accreditation. The results research showed that library accreditation management carries out planning, organizing, implementing, and monitoring processes. Management functions are described in accreditation ranging from planning to supervisory functions. The planning process is to design accreditation activities structurally and organizationally to achieve the expected conditions through team planning, physical evidence, and accreditation performance. Organizing processes are forming an organizational structure and detailing the duties of accreditation team members to play an effective role by classifying accreditation instruments, organizing teamwork, and accreditation documents. General and technical guidelines for university library accreditation guide the implementation process to obtain optimal performance from the accreditation team through completing documents, preparing for visitations, correcting forms, and conducting self-assessments. The monitoring process avoids deviations by evaluating the administration, budget, forms, performance, and physical evidence of accreditation. The study concludes that the implementation of accreditation management through planning, organizing, implementing, and monitoring aims that the UM library can achieve accreditation objectives, namely obtaining satisfactory results as well as the legitimacy, reputation, and legality of the library

    IMPLEMENTASI KEBIJAKAN STANDAR NASIONAL PERPUSTAKAAN PERGURUAN TINGGI: DI PERPUSTAKAAN UNIVERSITAS NEGERI MALANG

    The purpose of this study was to determine and describe the implementation of the National Standards for Higher Education Libraries (SNP-PT) that have been carried out by UM Library. The method used in this research is a combination of qualitative-quantitative, by observing and conducting interviews related to the implementation of the SNP-PT at the UM Library as well as using data in the form of numbers on the performance indicators of each component of the national standard. Achievement of collection indicators, UM Library have implemented 12 out of 14 collection standards for higher education libraries (85,7%). Achievement of facilities and infrastructure indicators, UM Library have implemented 18 of 19 standard facilities and infrastructure for higher education libraries (94,7%). Achievement of service indicators, UM Library have implemented 5 out of 5 service standards for higher education libraries (100%). Achievement of staff indicators, UM Library have implemented 8 out of 10 staff standards for higher education libraries (80%). Achievement of standard administration indicators, UM Library has implemented 6 out of 7 higher education library administration standards (85,7%). Achievement of management indicators, UM Library have implemented 12 out of 12 management standards for higher education libraries (100%). This research shows that the implementation of the SNP-PT policy has been “good” done in UM Library with an average achievement 91,01% of the standards that have been set

    Library 4.0: Eco-Blended Library and Library Inclusion

    The role of libraries in education today is directed at implementing digitization, called library 4.0. There is a need for service innovation that is able to reach the needs of the digital natives. This study describes and analyzes the innovation of Library Services 4.0: Eco-Blended Libraries and Inclusion-Based Library at Universitas Negeri Malang’s Library. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The data were obtained through interviews with librarians, observation and documentation. The results showed that in an effort to create a library ecosystem 4.0, the library has succeeded in implementing innovations. These innovations are in the form of an Eco-Blended Library program such as an e-book garden, Beringin Baca, a children's play ground, a library café, art performances, movie talk, and discussion booths. In addition, inclusion-based library is also developed with the Integrated Library Information System (SIPADU) facility digitizing collections in collaboration with Indonesia OneSearch, chat reference services, online loan and extension library collections, as well as information literacy. As a suggestion, the library needs to increase the number of human resources who might more focus on digital library services, further encouraging human resources to conduct online scientific publications and participate in online training forums or groups

    Human resource problems, vision and mission that are not according to needs, work programs and budgets must be immediately responded to by the leadership of the UM Library so that he has a competitive advantage in carrying out his duties and functions properly. This study aims to obtain a method of how the UM Library implements strategic management by describing and analyzing the environmental analysis process, strategy formulation, strategy implementation, and strategy evaluation carried out by library leaders in developing the competitive advantage of UM libraries. This study explores data and information based on direct interviews with UM Library leaders and documentation related to strategic management in developing the advantages of UM Libraries. At the stage of environmental analysis with structuration theory, developing multi-directional communication, resources exceeding national standards, realizing an eco campus, observing user behavior and collaborating with other organizations. The strategy formulation stage, by formulating a contextual and flexible vision and mission, making goals in line with the goals of institutions, national libraries and ministries, implementing coopetition strategies, and making institutional and non-institutional policies. UM Library Leaders in implementing the strategy by running programs both written and intended, optimizing capital and making easy and simple work procedures. At the strategy evaluation stage, the UM library leadership conducts internal, external, formal and informal evaluations

    Enhancing Learners’ Writing Performance through Blog-Assisted Language Learning

    ABSTRACT-The present study aims at investigating how Blog-Assisted Language Learning (BALL) can enhance EFL tertiary learners’ writing performance covering complexity, accuracy, and fluency through collaborative action research while at the same time it seeks to discover new knowledge that can inform the implementation of BALL in a writing class. This study employed Collaborative Classroom Action Research conducted in one cycle in one consecutive semester intended to make improvement in the teaching and learning of writing using BALL. There were 30 students of a university level majoring in English Education Department who joined Advanced Essay Writing Class in this study. The data were collected through interview, open-ended questionnaire followed by in-depth interview, and writing test. The findings showed that EFL learners improve their writing performance and they become more active in online class condition with two atmospheres: collaboration and competition among the learners.
