Graph-Segmenter: Graph Transformer with Boundary-aware Attention for Semantic Segmentation

The transformer-based semantic segmentation approaches, which divide the image into different regions by sliding windows and model the relation inside each window, have achieved outstanding success. However, since the relation modeling between windows was not the primary emphasis of previous work, it was not fully utilized. To address this issue, we propose a Graph-Segmenter, including a Graph Transformer and a Boundary-aware Attention module, which is an effective network for simultaneously modeling the more profound relation between windows in a global view and various pixels inside each window as a local one, and for substantial low-cost boundary adjustment. Specifically, we treat every window and pixel inside the window as nodes to construct graphs for both views and devise the Graph Transformer. The introduced boundary-aware attention module optimizes the edge information of the target objects by modeling the relationship between the pixel on the object's edge. Extensive experiments on three widely used semantic segmentation datasets (Cityscapes, ADE-20k and PASCAL Context) demonstrate that our proposed network, a Graph Transformer with Boundary-aware Attention, can achieve state-of-the-art segmentation performance

OCR-RTPS: An OCR-based real-time positioning system for the valet parking

Obtaining the position of ego-vehicle is a crucial prerequisite for automatic control and path planning in the field of autonomous driving. Most existing positioning systems rely on GPS, RTK, or wireless signals, which are arduous to provide effective localization under weak signal conditions. This paper proposes a real-time positioning system based on the detection of the parking numbers as they are unique positioning marks in the parking lot scene. It does not only can help with the positioning with open area, but also run independently under isolation environment. The result tested on both public datasets and self-collected dataset show that the system outperforms others in both performances and applies in practice. In addition, the code and dataset will release later.Comment: 25 pages, 9 figure

Surround-view Fisheye BEV-Perception for Valet Parking: Dataset, Baseline and Distortion-insensitive Multi-task Framework

Surround-view fisheye perception under valet parking scenes is fundamental and crucial in autonomous driving. Environmental conditions in parking lots perform differently from the common public datasets, such as imperfect light and opacity, which substantially impacts on perception performance. Most existing networks based on public datasets may generalize suboptimal results on these valet parking scenes, also affected by the fisheye distortion. In this article, we introduce a new large-scale fisheye dataset called Fisheye Parking Dataset(FPD) to promote the research in dealing with diverse real-world surround-view parking cases. Notably, our compiled FPD exhibits excellent characteristics for different surround-view perception tasks. In addition, we also propose our real-time distortion-insensitive multi-task framework Fisheye Perception Network (FPNet), which improves the surround-view fisheye BEV perception by enhancing the fisheye distortion operation and multi-task lightweight designs. Extensive experiments validate the effectiveness of our approach and the dataset's exceptional generalizability.Comment: 12 pages, 11 figure

Water quality variation in the middle route of South-to-North Water Diversion Project, China

The South-to-North Water Division Middle Route Project (MRP) is currently the longest inter-basin water diversion project in the world. It benefits a large population and its water quality has attracted much attention. In this study, seasonal investigations on 11 sampling sites along the MRP were conducted from 2018 to 2019; water temperature, pH, turbidity, transparency, CODMn, dissolved oxygen, total phosphorus, phosphate, total nitrogen, ammonia, nitrate, and chlorophyll a were determined synchronously. Single leakage distance clustering analysis identified the spatio-seasonal heterogeneity of physiochemical parameters. The trophic level index (TLI) and the water quality status were assessed: TLI increased and WQI decreased from south to north; TLI and WQI had seasonal differences (p < 0.001), the best water quality was observed in autumn, and the lowest TLI was observed in winter. The trophic level was “oligotrophic to mesotrophic”; water quality status was “good.” The multiple linear stepwise regression analysis confirmed that total nitrogen (TN), Chl a, and CODMn were the driving factors in water quality. These factors were applied to build the simplified WQI model, which was confirmed as a reliable method of water quality assessment for the MRP and a fitting substitute for TLI and WQI. The results provided support for the water quality evaluation of the MRP

Polymers of Intrinsic Microporosity (PIMs) in Sensing and in Electroanalysis

    Get PDF
Polymers of intrinsic microporosity (PIMs) provide high surface area materials (typically 1000 m2 g-1 apparent BET surface area) that are processable from organic solvents to give glassy films or composite coatings. Multi-functionality for sensing with these materials is achieved (i) based on the polymer backbone itself being fluorescent or chemically active or (ii) based on guest species (chromophores, nano-catalysts, nano-photo-catalysts, etc.) that are readily embedded into PIMs and accessible through micropores in the polymer host. The ease of forming uniform microporous films or composite films is linked to molecular rigidity and highlighted here for sensing/electroanalytical applications

Antifatigue Effects of Antrodia cinnamomea Cultured Mycelium via Modulation of Oxidative Stress Signaling in a Mouse Model

    Get PDF
Antrodia cinnamomea, a folk medicinal mushroom, has numerous biological effects. In this study, we aim to assess whether the antifatigue effects of A. cinnamomea mycelia (AC) and its underlying mechanisms are related to oxidative stress signaling using behavioral mouse models and biochemical indices detection. Mice were orally treated with AC at doses of 0.1, 0.3, and 0.9 g/kg for three weeks. AC had no effect on the spontaneous activities of mice indicating its safety on central nervous system. Furthermore, results obtained from weight-loaded forced swimming test, rotary rod test, and exhausted running test confirmed that AC significantly enhanced exercise tolerance of mice. Biochemical indices levels showed that these effects were closely correlated with inhibiting the depletion of glycogen and adenosine triphosphate stores, regulating oxidative stress-related parameters (superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase, reactive oxygen species, and malondialdehyde) in serum, skeletal muscle, and liver of mice. Moreover, the effects of AC may be related with its regulation on the activations of AMP-activated protein kinase, protein kinase B, and mammalian target of rapamycin in liver and skeletal muscle of mice. Altogether, our data suggest that the antifatigue properties of AC may be one such modulation mechanism via oxidative stress-related signaling in mice
