E-learning is an effective way for job-training and continuous education. In recognizing the need for civil servants to embrace the lifelong learning to sustain competitiveness, many countries around the world have created policies to develop e-learning. This study is focus on civil servants’ e-learning continuance intention and through e-learning experience to achieve lifelong learning. Based on Information system (IS) success model proposed by Seddon (1997) and adding organizational factors (Incentive, Supervisor Support, and Technical Support) to survey civil servants’ e-learning behaviour. The sample for the study was taken from the civil servants in Taiwan who have the experience of using the lifelong e-learning websites. The results also support Seddon’s IS success model. Finally, the implications and limitations of the study are discussed

As Linux gets more popular around the world, the advantage of the open source on software makes people do automated UI test by unified testing framework. UI software testing can guarantee the rationality of User Interface of Linux and accuracy of the UI’s widgets. In order to set free from fuzzy and repeated manual testing, and improve efficiency, this paper achieves automation testing of UI under Linux, and proposes a method to identify and test UI widgets under Linux, which is according to element tree of DogTail automaton testing framework. It achieves automation test of UI under Linux. According to this method, Aiming at the product of Red Hat Subscription Manager under Red Hat Enterprise Linux, it designs the automation test plan of this series of product’s dialogs. After many tests, it is indicated that this plan can identify UI widgets accurately and rationally, describe the structure of software clearly, avoid software errors and improve efficiency of the software. Simultaneously, it also can be used in the internationalization testing for checking translation during software internationalization

Successful supply chain management provides an enterprise with a new competitive advantage. However, successful supply chain performance is based on a high level of trust and strong commitment among supply chain partners. Studies have indicated that communication, partner’s reputation, perceived benefits, fairness, and relationship tenure that are within the context of social exchange theory have an effect on trust. In the current study, we attempted to integrate two types of theories of social exchange and service quality by proposing an integrated model that influences the factor to trust and commitment. We then applied structural equation modeling to test the model. The study results indicated that a hospital’s trust in its supply chain partner is highly associated with commitment. The study included respondents comprising medical device procurement staff working in hospitals within Taiwan. A total of 500 questionnaires were distributed; 316 completed questionnaires were received. The results revealed that communication, partner’s reputation, and perceived benefits had a positive effect on trust. Service quality was also determined to have a positive effect on trust and commitment. This result should provide reference for a hospital and its relationship with suppliers, which helps monitor decision variables in the supply chain management of medical devices

Due to the common, most enterprises have utilized information technology (IT) to enhance their competition and performance. Meanwhile, governments in Taiwan have encouraged enterprises to adapt e-commerce by putting policies and facilitating technology. Nevertheless, only few literatures discuss or evaluate the satisfaction of E-SCM after establishing information systems by enterprises. This research attempts to integrate three well-founded theories – Information System Success model (ISS), Organization Justice Theory and Consumer Value to develop our model. Using Structural Square Modeling (SEM) analysis performed on results of a questionnaire given to the providers of SCM who have established the E-SCM in their enterprises. The results showed that the distributive justice, procedural justice and interactive justice in the organization justice theory have a significant effect on the performance outcome in the E-SCM. It also showed that the system and service quality in the IS success model and the cost and service value in shopping value have a significant effect on the satisfaction of the E-SCM. The contribution of this study can be further research in academic and practical

A Novel Fluorescent Sensor for the Sensitive Detection of Mercury

AbstractMercury pollution is a widespread danger to human health and environment. To developed a effective method for mercury detecting is in high demand. This work demonstrated a novel bright fluorescent molecule DPDTC for the sensing of mercury. The approach was mainly based on the mercury-induced fluorescence turn-off of DPDTC. The probe was prepared by a simple method and exhibited high fluorescence. The fluorescence of DPDTC was very stable and immue to photobleaching. Results showed that DPDTC was a promising tool for mercury detection. Moreover, DPDTC could be immoblized on a paper to prepare an simple and portable sensor which expanded its real application

Accretionary orogens form along convergent plate margins due to the ongoing subduction of oceanic lithosphere, and comprise accretionary prisms, magmatic arcs, back-arc domains, ophiolitic mélanges and possibly oceanic plateaus and continental fragments [Condie, 2007; Cawood et al., 2009]. Based on the dips and velocities of subducting slabs, accretionary orogens can be divided into retreating and advancing type, as exemplified by modern SW Pacific and Andes, respectively [Royden, 1993; Cawood et al., 2009].Accretionary orogens form along convergent plate margins due to the ongoing subduction of oceanic lithosphere, and comprise accretionary prisms, magmatic arcs, back-arc domains, ophiolitic mélanges and possibly oceanic plateaus and continental fragments [Condie, 2007; Cawood et al., 2009]. Get PDF
A customer’s intention of reusing an e-commerce website for shopping has a great consequence for the website’s profitability; therefore, understanding the factors that influence a Web-customer’s reuse intention is of great importance to e-commerce. This study examines the influencing factors by constructing an integrated model with the Motivation Hub and the Expectancy Disconfirmation Theory, and adopting the constructs of general and specific Internet self-efficacy, perceived performance, disconfirmation, satisfaction, and reuse intention. Six research hypotheses derived from the integrated model were validated by EQS using a field survey of the users of top 100 e-commerce websites in Taiwan. The academic implication of this study is that the integrated model explains the factors that influence Web-customers’ reuse intention. For practical application, the e-commerce companies can adopt the research outcomes to ensure the success of their websites

A Thiazole Orange Derivative Targeting the Bacterial Protein FtsZ Shows Potent Antibacterial Activity.

The prevalence of multidrug resistance among clinically significant bacteria calls for the urgent development of new antibiotics with novel mechanisms of action. In this study, a new small molecule exhibiting excellent inhibition of bacterial cell division with potent antibacterial activity was discovered through cell-based screening. The compound exhibits a broad spectrum of bactericidal activity, including the methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus and NDM-1 Escherichia coli. The in vitro and in vivo results suggested that this compound disrupts the dynamic assembly of FtsZ protein and Z-ring formation through stimulating FtsZ polymerization. Moreover, this compound exhibits no activity on mammalian tubulin polymerization and shows low cytotoxicity on mammalian cells. Taken together, these findings could provide a new chemotype for development of antibacterials with FtsZ as the target
