Action spectrum of temperature in natural climate environment and prediction of temperature response in concrete

    Get PDF
AbstractThe temperature in concrete is a main factor influencing concrete carbonization, chloride diffusion and the corrosion rate of steel bars in the concrete. To predict the temperature response in concrete in a natural climate environment, the experiments for temperature response in concrete under artificial and natural climate environment conditions were carried out. The results indicate that the temperature responses in concrete show obvious hysteresis characteristics. A prediction model for temperature response in concrete was presented based on the behavior of the concrete's thermal conduction. Then, a method for processing the climate temperature data was devised using the mathematical principle of extreme difference dissection, through which a temperature action spectrum can be formed. In view of the above mentioned studies, the corresponding temperature response in the concrete could be predicted. Comparisons were carried out between the prediction and the measurement of the temperature responses and the result showed that they were consistent

Cinnamic aldehyde treatment alleviates chronic unexpected stress-induced depressive-like behaviors via targeting cyclooxygenase-2 in mid-aged rats

Ethnopharmacological relevance: COX-2 has been considered as a potent molecular target for prevention and therapy of depression. However, a recent study showed that COX-2 inhibitor does not improve depressive symptoms in persons aged 70 and over. Therefore, whether treatments targeting COX-2 have a clinical efficacy in depression, especially elderly individuals, remains unclear. Cinnamic aldehyde is a major constituent of Cinnamomum cassia, which has exhibited excellent anti-inflammatory activities as a COX-2 inhibitor. To investigate the potential antidepressant effect of cinnamic aldehyde in mid-aged rats

Network service registration based on role-goal-process-service meta-model in a P2P network

Service composition-based network software customisation is currently a research hotspot in the field of software engineering. A key problem of the hotspot is how to efficiently discover services distributed over the Internet. In the service oriented architecture, service discovery suffers from the performance bottleneck of centralised universal description discovery and integration (UDDI), and inaccurate matching of service semantics. In this study, the authors describe a novel method for service labelling, registration and discovery, which is based on the role-goal-process-service meta-model. This approach enables ones to achieve accurate matching of service semantics by extending web service description language with RGP demand-information. The authors also suggest a peer-to-peer (P2P)-based architecture of service discovery to address the issues in the UDDI bottleneck and the complexity of semantic computation. By adopting the proposed approach, an experiment prototype system has been designed and implemented in Beijing municipal transportation system. The experimental results show the proposed approach is effective in addressing the aforementioned problems

In present, developing the low-carbon economy is common recognized by the world. In order to achieve the aim of low-carbon economy, to reduce the carbon dioxide emissions is one of the most important measures. Nowadays, because of the large population, high energy intensity and the unreasonable energy structure based on fossil fuel, our country has faced an enormous pressure during the reducing carbon emissions process. Based on the current international applying carbon emission reduction proposals, we discussed the developed countries carbon emission reduction policies in detailed which includes the United States, Britain and Japan and etc. and in the meantime. Based on the above overseas developed countries experiences, the paper analyses  our country’s present situation of carbon emission reduction, finds the existing problems and put forward relevant recommendations. In brief, the research will provide some reference to build a low-carbon economy society of our country. Keywords:  low-carbon economy; CO2 emission; home and abroad carbon emission reduction policy; questions and measures Résumé:  A l'heure actuelle, le développement de l'économie à bas-carbone est généralement reconnu par le monde.

A multichannel thiacalix[4]arene-based fluorescent chemosensor for Zn²⁺, F⁻ ions and imaging of living cells

The fluorescent sensor (3) based on the 1,3-alternate conformation of the thiacalix[4]arene bearing the coumarin fluorophore, appended via an imino group, has been synthesised. Sensing properties were evaluated in terms of a colorimetric and fluorescence sensor for Zn 2+ and F - . High selectivity and excellent sensitivity were exhibited, and off-on optical behaviour in different media was observed. All changes were visible to the naked eye, whilst the presence of the Zn 2+ and F - induces fluorescence enhancement and the formation of a 1:1 complex with 3. In addition, 3 exhibits low cytotoxicity and good cell permeability and can readily be employed for assessing the change of intracellular levels of Zn 2+ and F -

Radiative transitions in charmonium from Nf=2N_f=2 twisted mass lattice QCD

We present a study for charmonium radiative transitions: J/ψηcγJ/\psi\rightarrow\eta_c\gamma, χc0J/Ψγ\chi_{c0}\rightarrow J/\Psi\gamma and hcηcγh_c\rightarrow\eta_c\gamma using Nf=2N_f=2 twisted mass lattice QCD gauge configurations. The single-quark vector form factors for ηc\eta_c and χc0\chi_{c0} are also determined. The simulation is performed at a lattice spacing of a=0.06666a= 0.06666 fm and the lattice size is 323×6432^3\times 64. After extrapolation of lattice data at nonzero Q2Q^2 to 0, we compare our results with previous quenched lattice results and the available experimental values.Comment: typeset with revtex, 15 pages, 11 figures, 4 table
