    Pentacene-Based Thin-Film Transistors With a Solution-Process Hafnium Oxide Insulator

Abstract—Pentacene-based organic thin-film transistors with solution-process hafnium oxide (HfOx) as gate insulating layer have been demonstrated. The solution-process HfOx could not only exhibit a high-permittivity (κ = 11) dielectric constant but also has good dielectric strength. Moreover, the root-mean-square surface roughness and surface energy (γs) on the surface of the HfOx layer were 1.304 nm and 34.24 mJ/cm2, respectively. The smooth, as well as hydrophobic, surface of HfOx could facilitate the direct deposition of the pentacene film without an additional polymer treatment layer, leading to a high field-effect mobility of 3.8 cm2/(V · s). Index Terms—Hafnium oxide, high permittivity, organic thinfilm transistor (OTFT), solution process, surface energy

Behaviour of Corroded Stud Shear Connectors under Fatigue Loading

Experimental investigation was conducted on corroded composite push-out specimens to study the behavior of shear studs subjected to fatigue loading. A total of eight standard EC4 push-out specimens were tested. The expected corrosion rate of test specimens ranged from 0 to 50%. The main purpose of these tests was to determine the fatigue life and the reduction effect caused by the corrosion on the fatigue life. The effect of corrosion on the fatigue crack, load-slip curves, and failure modes was also studied. In addition, the test results were compared with current Eurocode design predictions, which is only for specimen without corrosion. It is shown that the current Eurocode design predictions are quite conservative for the test specimens in this study. Design equations were also proposed for fatigue life of corroded composite push-out specimens

Drivers of eHealth Adoption: Linking eHealth Adoption to Service Concept

    Get PDF
Researchers and practitioners are keenly interested in understanding what drives eHealth adoption in recent years. This is largely because, while eHealth can lead to cost-effective and quality health care, the actual adoption rate of eHealth remains low across countries. In prior literature, it was clearly indicated that well-designed eHealth services are critical to eHealth adoption. In this study, our findings further show that, what may motivate patients’ adoption is more strongly associated with the design of eHealth caring service, and the design of eHealth IT service is more likely to be associated with patients’ continual use
