    A Process Mining Based Approach to Complex Manufacturing Process Flow Analysis: A Case Study

    Department of Management EngineeringWith recent advances in IT infrastructure in manufacturing environments, a large amount of manufacturing data are collected and stored in a database at various stages of production. These data may include valuable information for manufacturing companies to improve their manufacturing processes. The method of manufacturing data analysis is crucial for understanding the manufacturing data. However, traditional manufacturing data analysis methods such as data mining, simulation, etc. have limitations for this purpose since those are difficult to provide overall process-level information. Therefore, in this thesis, a process mining based approach for analyzing complex manufacturing processes is proposed. Process mining is a useful tool for process-related knowledge acquisition since it enables users to derive not only manufacturing process models, but also several performance measures related to processes, resources, and tasks. This thesis suggests a framework for the manufacturing process analysis. To do this, it applies process mining techniques to perform four types of analysis, which are visualization of production flows, machine-to-machine inter-relationship analysis, machine utilization, and monitoring & diagnosis of task performance regarding yield rate and lead time. Furthermore, a case study is conducted to support the proposed framework with an event log of an electronic components manufacturing process.ope

    EFFECTS OF PROBODY MASSAGE ON PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS, BODY ALIGNMENT IN THE MIDDLE-AGED WOMEN WITH MUSCULOSKELETAL DISEASES

    The purpose of this study was to investigate the degree of improvement of physical characteristics, body alignment of the exercise group after Probody Massage Program of 8 weeks with 30 musculoskeletal diseases in middle-aged Women in B Metropolitan city. The subjects of this study were 30 musculoskeletal diseases in middle-aged in B Metropolitan city for 8 weeks twice a week, was carried out the Probody Massage Program of 60 minutes. Physiological characteristics are height, weight, BMI, an index of inflammation, body alignment was measured pretest, after 8 weeks. As the Probody Massage Program was showed a positive change in physical characteristics, body alignment with musculoskeletal diseases in middle-aged Women. Consequently it was suggested that Probody Massage with improvement and prevention for posture's unbalance of musculoskeletal diseases in middle-aged Women. This program could be utilized for improvement of youth postures and physical characteristics, body alignment of musculoskeletal diseases in middle-aged Women

    A Study of ICU Nursing Core Skill Design for Nursing Practice Education and Nursing Students’ Performance Competency

    Objectives: The purpose of this study was to provide fundamental information for the establishment of ICU Nursing Core Skill for nursing students of Cheju Halla University, South Korea by clarifying contemporary nursing skills/activities used in an ICU. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted using a Nursing Activities Questionnaire that included 99 questions in a 4-Likert scale. Data were collected from 111 nurses working in ICUs within 6 different hospitals in Jeju and 168 3rd year students who were enrolled in the ICU core skills course with a response rate of 78.87%. The Important Index was calculated from the urgency multiplied by four and added frequency of nursing activities (The Important Index = the urgency×4 + frequency). The data was analysed with SPSS 20.0 program using descriptive statistics for frequency, urgency, importance and performance competency of nursing activities. Results: Fifty nursing activities that had ranked upper 25 % of the Important Index score among 99 nursing activities were examined. When 14 ICU Nursing Skills used at the Cheju Halla University were matched with 50 nursing activities identified by the ICU RNs, upper 25% of the Importance Index score, 9 items were found to be consistent. Conclusions: This research showed the frequency of relevant nursing interventions ranked within an Importance Index, and the focus of performance competency elements of nursing activities in ICU of hospitals in Jeju Island. Based on the results of this study, there is need to correct and revise ICU Core Skill elements within programs at Cheju Halla University. Future study is suggested to examine and evaluate the ability of nursing students who perform nursing activities shown as relevant and critical on the Importance Index in this study

    Discovery of Fluidic LiBH_4 on Scaffold Surfaces and Its Application for Fast Co-confinement of LiBH_4−Ca(BH_4)_2 into Mesopores

    Generation of fluidic LiBH_4 molecules, ƒ-LiBH_4, was demonstrated by NMR spectroscopy of LiBH_4 bulk powder mixed with silica scaffold surface materials under minor heat treatment. In the presence of the fumed silica or mesoporous MCM-41 and SBA-15, LiBH_4 shows increased translational mobility at relatively low temperature (ca. 95 °C) and becomes liquid-like by evidence from ^1H–^(11)B J-coupling in ^1H and ^(11)B MAS NMR or substantial line narrowing of ^7Li static NMR. This high diffusional mobility of LiBH_4 at the molecular level has never been seen for bulk LiBH_4, and the property is attributed to the interfacial interaction with the mesoporous scaffold surfaces. While ƒ-LiBH_4 facilitates the confinement of LiBH_4 itself into various scaffold materials, LiBH_4 migrates along the SBA-15 surface to reach other metal borohydride particles, Ca(BH_4)_2 in this case, and promotes the formation of similarly fluidic LiBH_4–Ca(BH_4)_2 composite (LC solid solution) for coconfinement into mesopores. In situ variable temperature (VT) NMR spectroscopy detects the co-infiltration process of eutectic LiBH_4–Ca(BH_4)_2 composite (LC) into mesopores of SBA-15. The infiltration rates measured for LiBH_4 bulk powder or LC composite showed dependence on pore sizes (MCM-41 vs SBA-15) and heat treatment conditions (static vs MAS)

    Modulation of Radiation-Induced Disturbances of Antioxidant Defense Systems by Ginsan

    There are numerous studies to indicate that irradiation induces reactive oxygen species (ROS), which play an important causative role in radiation damage of the cell. We evaluated the effects of ginsan, a polysaccharide fraction extracted from Panax ginseng, on the γ-radiation induced alterations of some antioxidant systems in the spleen of Balb/c mice. On the 5th day after sublethal whole-body irradiation, homogenized spleen tissues of the irradiated mice expressed only marginally increased mRNA levels of Mn-SOD (superoxide dimutase) in contrast to Cu/Zn-SOD, however, catalase mRNA was decreased by ∼50% of the control. In vivo treatment of non-irradiated mice with ginsan (100 mg kg(−1), intraperitoneal administration) had no significant effect, except for glutathione peroxidase (GPx) mRNA, which increased to 144% from the control. However, the combination of irradiation with ginsan effectively increased the SODs and GPx transcription as well as their protein expressions and enzyme activities. In addition, the expression of heme oxygenase-1 and non-protein thiol induced by irradiation was normalized by the treatment of ginsan. Evidence indicated that transforming growth factor-β and other important cytokines such as IL-1, TNF and IFN-γ might be involved in evoking the antioxidant enzymes. Therefore, we propose that the modulation of antioxidant enzymes by ginsan was partly responsible for protecting the animal from radiation, and could be applied as a therapeutic remedy for various ROS-related diseases

    In Situ NMR Study on the Interaction between LiBH_4–Ca(BH_4)_2 and Mesoporous Scaffolds

    We discuss the use of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy to investigate the physical state of the eutectic composition of LiBH_(4)–Ca(BH_4)_2 (LC) infiltrated into mesoporous scaffolds and the interface effect of various scaffolds. Eutectic melting and the melt infiltration of mixed borohydrides were observed through in situ NMR. In situ and ex situ NMR results for LC mixed with mesoporous scaffolds indicate that LiBH_4 and Ca(BH_4)_2 exist as an amorphous mixture inside of the pores after infiltration. Surprisingly, the confinement of the eutectic LC mixture within the mesopores is initiated below the melting temperature, which indicates a certain interaction between the borohydrides and the mesoporous scaffolds. The confined borohydrides remain inside of the pores after cooling. These phenomena were not observed in microporous or nonporous materials, and this observation highlights the importance of the pore structure of the scaffolds. Such surface interactions may be associated with a faster dehydrogenation of the nanoconfined borohydrides

    Anaphylaxis with angioedema by rocuronium during induction of general anesthesia -A case report-

    Perioperative anaphylaxis is characterized by severe respiratory and cardiovascular manifestations. Correct management of anaphylaxis during anaesthesia requires a multidisciplinary approach with prompt recognition and treatment of the acute event by the attending anesthesiologist. A 34-year-old woman was scheduled to undergo endo venous laser therapy of varicose veins. She had no history of allergies and had never undergone general anesthesia. General anesthesia was induced with propofol and rocuronium bromide. Approximately three minutes after rocuronium administration, hypotension and tachycardia developed and angioedema around the eyelids and skin rashes and urticaria appeared. The patient received ephedrine and hydrocortisone with hydration. After achieving stable vital signs and symptom relief, surgery was performed without complications. A postoperative skin dermal test performed to identify the agent responsible revealed a positive skin test for rocuronium

    Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a painful and disabling disorder that can affect one or more extremities. Unfortunately, the knowledge concerning its natural history and mechanism is very limited and many current rationales in treatment of CRPS are mainly dependent on efficacy originated in other common conditions of neuropathic pain. Therefore, in this study, we present a case using a total spinal block (TSB) for the refractory pain management of a 16-year-old male CRPS patient, who suffered from constant stabbing and squeezing pain, with severe touch allodynia in the left upper extremity following an operation of chondroblastoma. After the TSB, the patient's continuous and spontaneous pain became mild and the allodynia disappeared and maintained decreased for 1 month
