A Sharp upper bound for the spectral radius of a nonnegative matrix and applications

In this paper, we obtain a sharp upper bound for the spectral radius of a nonnegative matrix. This result is used to present upper bounds for the adjacency spectral radius, the Laplacian spectral radius, the signless Laplacian spectral radius, the distance spectral radius, the distance Laplacian spectral radius, the distance signless Laplacian spectral radius of a graph or a digraph. These results are new or generalize some known results.Comment: 16 pages in Czechoslovak Math. J., 2016. arXiv admin note: text overlap with arXiv:1507.0705

It is said that you can tell a man by the books he reads. More so, then, by the books he writes. In the case of William J. Robinson (1869-1936), Ph.G., M.D., consider these works

You Can\u27t Always Get What You Want

My parents used to tell me that I wasn’t entitled to anything—that I should be happy with what I have and not assume that I deserved something unless I had worked for it. Either way, entitlement is something that I’ve been thinking about a lot lately. So what do I think I’m entitled to? I’m not really sure. Maybe I’m entitled to making my own choices about what I’m going to do after graduation or having friends that treat me well. Maybe not. [excerpt

STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP:THE PLATFORM FOR POLITICAL SUCCESS

Good leaders are made not born. If you have the desire and willpower, you can become an effective leader. Good leaders develop through a never-ending process of self-study, education, training, and experience. To inspire your people into higher levels of teamwork, there are certain things you must be, know, and, do. These do not come naturally, but are acquired through continual work and study. The best leaders are continually working and studying to improve their leadership skills.Leadership,Strategic Leadership,Political Leadership,Jamaican Political Leadership, Edward Seaga, P J Patterson, Michael Manley, Peter Phillips, Peter Jones Economic Development Institute

    Letter From the Editor

It is a pleasure to compose a letter to you at the outset of the 2016-2017 academic year. In composing this, my first letter as Managing Editor of ICCTE-J, I envision each of you sitting in front of a screen, scrolling through the latest journal offerings in search of new information or insight. I wonder what brief words I might offer to encourage you in the face of all we undertake to launch a new academic year and deal profitably with life’s many challenges. And I think it is this: we serve a marvelous and sovereign God who loves each one with abandon. This is what grounds us in the educational work of our hands, and is our sustaining grace despite political tumult, racial tensions, social inequities, and all the needs our students carry into our classrooms

Standing in a Garden of Forking Paths

According to the Path Principle, it is permissible to expand your set of beliefs iff (and because) the evidence you possess provides adequate support for such beliefs. If there is no path from here to there, you cannot add a belief to your belief set. If some thinker with the same type of evidential support has a path that they can take, so do you. The paths exist because of the evidence you possess and the support it provides. Evidential support grounds propositional justification. The principle is mistaken. There are permissible steps you may take that others may not even if you have the very same evidence. There are permissible steps that you cannot take that others can even if your beliefs receive the same type of evidential support. Because we have to assume almost nothing about the nature of evidential support to establish these results, we should reject evidentialism

I accompanied my mother, Angela Domino, to Methodist Hospital last Friday for a breast surgery performed by Melissa Lazar, MD. I just wanted you to know how wonderful our experience was, and I place much of that credit on your employees’ personal efforts at keeping my mother calm, and supported. At 84, my mom was apprehensive about trusting a new surgeon AND a new hospital. Dr. Lazar is a fantastic combination of intelligence; skill and a fast and strong ability to form a bond that made my mother give way her fears. Mom went from great apprehension to complete trust, and I am so grateful for this. My experience at Methodist reminded me of my years in private practice, when I admitted patients to a suburban community hospital, where everyone knew and cared for each other. You have done a great job, and I thank you for running such a solid institution. Frank J. Domino, MD Professor Dept. Family Medicine & Community Health University of Massachusetts Medical Schoo
