Ethylene production by pulsed compression
The study investigates methane to ethylene conversion using non-oxidative thermal coupling with pulsed compression technology. A pulsed compression reactor (PCR) is used that utilizes a free piston concept, compressing gases up to 600 bar in around 8 ms and raising temperatures to 4000 K. The PCR operates at lower temperatures (< 588 K), making it promising for ethylene production from abundant natural gas. This research explores methane and ethane conversion, revealing high selectivity to ethylene and other valuable products. Chapter 2 analyzes the single shot reactor (SSR) and develops a simplified model for gas compression behavior. Chapter 3 demonstrates methane conversion without oxygen, using nitrogen as a diluent, with high selectivity to ethylene. Chapter 4 maps operational conditions to maximize product concentrations, achieving 28% methane conversion and 99% selectivity for desired products. Chapter 5 examines the impact of different bathing gases on reaction rates, highlighting a dependency on gas type. Chapter 6 presents a kinetic model for methane and ethane pyrolysis, improving predictive capabilities over existing models. Chapter 7 introduces a continuous free piston reactor design for endothermic reactions, showing promise for continuous operation despite operational challenges. Finally, Chapter 8 concludes that converting ethane diluted in methane is the best way forward for ethylene production, shifting the ethane dehydrogenation process towards net conversion of methane, thus enhancing ethylene production
Generador Automático de Personajes 3D
Este proyecto, denominado GenPro, consiste en un generador procedural de modelos
humanoides 3D. Con esta herramienta podremos generar un número incalculable de
modelos distintos a partir de un único modelo. El generador esta implementado sobre la
plataforma de desarrollo de videojuegos Unity3D como un asset programado en C#.
GenPro puede ser exportado e importado por cualquier usuario de la plataforma.
Actualmente, la generación procedural es empleada en juegos de alta gama para reducir, en
la medida de lo posible, el espacio ocupado por el videojuego, el tráfico de internet
necesario para la obtención del modelo o el tiempo de lectura del modelo desde el soporte
físico. La generación procedural es quizás el método de programación de videojuegos más
importante hoy en día. Aunque parezca que es un método nuevo de programación, la
generación por procedimientos viene usándose desde casi el principio de la creación de los
videojuegos.
El proyecto consta de dos partes. La primera es la edición del personaje, donde podremos
elegir el género, la altura, los rasgos faciales o el color de piel entre otras características.
Además, si lo deseas podrás generarlo de manera aleatoria. Una vez finalizada la edición
del modelo a nuestro gusto podremos entrar con nuestro personaje en un escenario lleno de
diversos personajes generados aleatoriamente por todo el mapa. Nuestro personaje podrá
moverse por todo el terreno buscando personajes y viendo todas las diferencias físicas
entre cada uno de ellos.This project, called GenPro, is composed of a procedural generator of 3D humanoid
models. With this tool we can generate an untold number of models from a single model.
The generator is implemented on the Unity3D video game development platform as an
active programmed in C #. GenPro can be exported and imported by any platform user.
Currently the procedural generation is used in high-end games, in order to reduce, as far as
possible, the space occupied by the video game, the internet traffic necessary to obtain the
model or the reading time of the model from the physical medium. The procedural
generation is perhaps the most important method of video game programming today.
Although it seems to be a new method of programming, the generation by procedures has
been used since the beginning of the creation of video games.
The project has two parts. The first is the edition of the character, where you can choose
the gender, height, facial features or skin color among other features. Also, if you want you
can generate it randomly. Once finished editing the model to our liking we will be able to
enter with our character in a scene full of diverse personages generated randomly by all the
map. Our character will be able to move throughout the terrain looking for characters and
seeing all the physical differences between each one of them
Lifestyle, heart rate and cardiovascular disease:novel insights from genomics and big data
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains the leading cause of mortality worldwide, despite declining mortality rates due to improved treatment. Preventive strategies could be essential to reduce CVD burden, but will require a better understanding of the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying CVD development. Studying the genetic architecture of CVD and its risk factors might aid in this endeavor. Genome-wide association studies can increase our understanding of the underlying biological architecture of CVD and its risk factors by identifying associated genetic variants. These genetic variants can then be used to obtain generally unconfounded genetic associations between a risk factor and CVD. This thesis identifies novel genetic variants associated with prevalent lifestyle behaviors and several heart rate traits. We provide evidence that television watching might causally increase risk of coronary artery disease development. A genetic association between caffeine intake and CVD was not established. We find that heart rate at rest, its variability, its increase during exercise, and its recovery after exercise, are not likely on the causal pathway to mortality. We do find that higher genetically predicted resting heart rate decreases risk of atrial fibrillation, ischemic stroke and cardio-embolic stroke. The genetic association of resting heart rate with ischemic and cardio-embolic stroke is unlikely caused by resting heart rate itself, but is probably driven by the effect of resting heart rate associated variants on respectively pulse pressure and atrial fibrillation. The findings described in this thesis increase our insights in the pathophysiological mechanisms leading to CVD and may improve risk stratification and prevention strategies
Pengelolaan Kurikulum Merdeka di SMK Negeri 2 Padang
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to gather information about the management of the independent curriculum (kurikulum merdeka) at SMK Negeri 2 Padang in terms of the aspects of lesson planning, implementation of learning, learning assessment and learning follow-up. This type of research is descriptive. The instrument in this research is a questionnaire. The results of the study stated that the independent curriculum (kurikulum merdeka) management at SMK Negeri 2 Padang in aspects 1) learning planning with an average score of 4.12 was in the good category, 2) learning implementation with an average score of 4.09 was in the good category, 3) learning assessment with an average score of 4.07 was in the good category, 4) follow-up learning with an average score of 3.88 was in the good category. It can be concluded that the kurikulum merdeka management at SMK Negeri 2 Padang is in the good category with an average score of 4.04.Abstrak
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengumpulkan informasi tentang pengelolaan kurikulum mandiri di SMK Negeri 2 Padang ditinjau dari aspek perencanaan pembelajaran, pelaksanaan pembelajaran, penilaian pembelajaran dan tindak lanjut pembelajaran. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa pengelolaan kurikulum mandiri di SMK Negeri 2 Padang pada aspek 1) perencanaan pembelajaran dengan skor rata-rata 4,12 berada pada kategori baik, 2) pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan skor rata-rata 4,09 berada pada kategori baik, 3) penilaian pembelajaran dengan skor rata-rata 4,07 berada pada kategori baik, 4) pembelajaran lanjutan dengan skor rata-rata 3,88 berada pada kategori baik. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa manajemen kurikulum merdeka di SMK Negeri 2 Padang berada pada kategori baik dengan skor rata-rata 4,04
La actividad y el tratamiento de los objetos matemáticos en la formación inicial de maestros
En este estudio se determinó que los maestros de matemática del nivel secundario de la Regional Educativa 10, no adquieren en su formación inicial un dominio suficiente de esa ciencia, así como tampoco de las estrategias para el tratamiento de los objetos matemáticos que enseñan. La hipótesis es que si los formadores de maestros de matemática del nivel secundario aplican un modelo generador de situaciones didáctico-matemáticas en el proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje de esa disciplina, a través de espacios de reflexión, se logra elevar la calidad en la formación inicial de los futuros maestros

Public interest to tourism activity is always increasing, seen from the many deals offered by Travel Agencies in internet. Tourism spots seem to be a promising business to by playing the tourism management role. Karimunjawa Island has massive potentials that need to be exposed to public. The paper seeks to provide insights into the application of marketing communication strategies, with social media and word of mouth communication in tourism industry from the perspectives of its tourism potentials, evaluating their effectiveness for place branding management at Karimunjawa National Park. The specific purpose is to uncover the important role marketing communication with practice of social media and word of mouth to build the place brands by engaging potential visitors. The social media and word of mouth proved to be a major communication vehicle that spread across the region like wildfire. Tourism industry is one of the sectors that have beneficiated the most from the marketing communication strategies. As a result social media word of mouth have become an integral part of Karimunjawa National Park place branding.Qualitative case-study method generates understanding of how social media and word of mouth communicate the Karimunjawa National Park's tourism potentials. In-depth interview allows exploration of how the marketing communication strategies with practice of social media and word of mouth used in place branding processes. As a result, the relationship between travel agent and customers is closer than ever, with businesses continuing to turn to social media and word of mouth to promote their services and reach customers in a more intimate and personal way
