    Large Magnetoresistance in Compensated Semimetals TaAs2_2 and NbAs2_2

    We report large magnetoresistance (MR) at low temperatures in single-crystalline nonmagnetic compounds TaAs2_2 and NbAs2_2. Both compounds exhibit parabolic-field-dependent MR larger than 5×1035\times10^3 in a magnetic field of 9 Tesla at 2 K. The MR starts to deviate from parabolic dependence above 10 T and intends to be saturated in 45 T for TaAs2_2 at 4.2 K. The Hall resistance measurements and band structural calculations reveal their compensated semimetal characteristics. The large MR at low temperatures is ascribed to a resonance effect of the balanced electrons and holes with large mobilities. We also discuss the relation of the MR and samples' quality for TaAs2_2 and other semimetals. We found that the magnitudes of MR are strongly dependent on the samples' quality for different compounds.Comment: 26 pages, 11 figures, 2 table

    Magnetic Field Enhanced Superconductivity in Epitaxial Thin Film WTe2.

    In conventional superconductors an external magnetic field generally suppresses superconductivity. This results from a simple thermodynamic competition of the superconducting and magnetic free energies. In this study, we report the unconventional features in the superconducting epitaxial thin film tungsten telluride (WTe2). Measuring the electrical transport properties of Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) grown WTe2 thin films with a high precision rotation stage, we map the upper critical field Hc2 at different temperatures T. We observe the superconducting transition temperature T c is enhanced by in-plane magnetic fields. The upper critical field Hc2 is observed to establish an unconventional non-monotonic dependence on temperature. We suggest that this unconventional feature is due to the lifting of inversion symmetry, which leads to the enhancement of Hc2 in Ising superconductors

    During driving of a vehicle on road, the tires are undertaking load conversion of the vehicle under various driving conditions and various road conditions within contact patches. As for the contact condition between tire and road, it is often deemed as composed by spring and damping element. The contact with road is always simplified as point contact. Besides, static friction model is adopted, which has ignored physical property of friction and dynamic process of establishment of friction force. It is far from sufficient for current vehicle and road safety design. In this paper, ADAMS software is applied to establish a multi-body dynamics model of heavy vehicle, actual vehicle data was adopted to check virtual sample vehicle, and the Strikbeck dynamical friction property is introduced to tire model during rolling contact between tire and payment, interface of Simulink with ADAMS is applied to put forward a complete vehicle dynamic model truly reflecting the process of dynamic contact between tire and road, and furthermore the correctness and availability of dynamic tire model are verified through comparison with classic Pac2002 tire model. As for dynamic behaviors of heavy vehicle in special sections, finite element method (FEM) is applied to put forward a new 3D complicated road model construction method to construct roads of different classes and long-downhill paths of different S-curves. Simulated analysis of the influence of different speeds, different classes of random roads, different slopes and different adhesion road models on ride comfort of vehicle driving was implemented through utilization of event editor and drive control file, and speed limit standards under different conditions are put forward, so as to provide theoretical basis for road alignment design and reasonable driving speed. Finally, the influence and changing rules of different speeds, different classes of random roads and different slopes on driving safety are discussed from the perspectives of each radial force of tire, alignment torque, sideslip angle and roll angle

    EVNet: An Explainable Deep Network for Dimension Reduction

    Dimension reduction (DR) is commonly utilized to capture the intrinsic structure and transform high-dimensional data into low-dimensional space while retaining meaningful properties of the original data. It is used in various applications, such as image recognition, single-cell sequencing analysis, and biomarker discovery. However, contemporary parametric-free and parametric DR techniques suffer from several significant shortcomings, such as the inability to preserve global and local features and the pool generalization performance. On the other hand, regarding explainability, it is crucial to comprehend the embedding process, especially the contribution of each part to the embedding process, while understanding how each feature affects the embedding results that identify critical components and help diagnose the embedding process. To address these problems, we have developed a deep neural network method called EVNet, which provides not only excellent performance in structural maintainability but also explainability to the DR therein. EVNet starts with data augmentation and a manifold-based loss function to improve embedding performance. The explanation is based on saliency maps and aims to examine the trained EVNet parameters and contributions of components during the embedding process. The proposed techniques are integrated with a visual interface to help the user to adjust EVNet to achieve better DR performance and explainability. The interactive visual interface makes it easier to illustrate the data features, compare different DR techniques, and investigate DR. An in-depth experimental comparison shows that EVNet consistently outperforms the state-of-the-art methods in both performance measures and explainability.Comment: 18 pages, 15 figures, accepted by TVC

    Evaluation of the reporting quality of clinical practice guidelines on gliomas using the RIGHT checklist

    Background: The reporting quality of clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) for gliomas has not yet been thoroughly assessed. The International Reporting Items for Practice Guidelines in Healthcare (RIGHT) statement developed in 2016 provides a reporting framework to improve the quality of CPGs. We aimed to estimate the reporting quality of glioma guidelines using the RIGHT checklist and investigate how the reporting quality differs by selected characteristics. Methods: We systematically searched electronic databases, guideline databases, and medical society websites to retrieve CPGs on glioma published between 2018 and 2020. We calculated the compliance of the CPGs to individual items, domains and the RIGHT checklist overall. We performed stratified analyses by publication year, country of development, reporting of funding, and impact factor (IF) of the journal. Results: Our search revealed 20 eligible guidelines. Mean overall adherence to the RIGHT statement was 54.6%. Eight CPGs reported more than 60% of the items, and five reported less than 50%. All guidelines adhered to the items 1a, 3, 7a, 13a, while no guidelines reported the items 17 or 18b (see http://www.rightstatement.org/right-statement/checklist for a description of the items). Two of the seven domains, "Basic information" and "Background", had mean reporting rates above 60%. The "Review and quality assurance" domain had the lowest mean reporting rate, 12.5%. The reporting quality of guidelines published in 2020, guidelines developed in the United States, and guidelines that reported funding tended to be above average. Conclusions: The reporting quality of CPGs on gliomas is low and needs improvement. Particular attention should be paid on reporting the external review and quality assurance process. The use of the RIGHT criteria should be encouraged to guide the development, reporting and evaluation of CPGs
