LUCIDENIC ACID A INHIBITS THE BINDING OF HACE2 RECEPTOR WITH SPIKE PROTEIN TO PREVENT SARS-COV-2 INVASION
High infection caused by mutations of SARS-CoV-2 calls for new prevention strategy. Ganoderma lucidum known
as a superior immunoenhancer exhibits various antiviral effects, whether it can resist SARS-CoV-2 remains unclear.
Herein, virtual screening combined with in vitro hACE2 inhibition assays were used to investigate its anti
SARS-CoV-2 effect. Potential 54 active components, 80 core targets and 20 crucial pathways were identified by
the component-target-pathway network. The binding characters of these components to hACE2 and its complexes
with spike protein including omicron variant was analyzed by molecular docking. Lucidenic acid A was
selected as the top molecule with high affinity to all receptors by forming hydrogen bonds. Molecular dynamics
simulation showed it had good binding stability with the receptor proteins. Finally, in vitro FRET test demonstrated
it inhibited the hACE2 activity with IC50 2 μmol/mL. Therefore, lucidenic acid A can prevent the virus
invasion by blocking hACE2 binding with SARS-CoV-2
Do parents’ collectivistic tendency and attitudes toward filial piety facilitate autonomous motivation among young Chinese adolescents?
The present study investigates the association of Chinese parents' collectivistic tendency, attitudes towards filial piety (i.e., children respecting and caring for parents (RCP) and children protecting and upholding honor for parents (PUHP)), parenting behaviors (i.e., autonomy granting (AG) and psychological control (PC)) with young adolescents' autonomous motivation. Participants were 321 Chinese parents and their eighth-grade children who independently completed a set of surveys. Results showed that parents' collectivistic tendency indirectly and positively contributes to children's autonomous motivation through the mediation of AG and PC, respectively. Parents' attitude toward RCP has an indirect and positive contribution to children's autonomy motivation through the mediation of AG while parents' attitude toward PUHP shows an indirect and negative contribution to children's autonomous motivation through the mediation of PC. The findings suggest that different cultural emphases in collectivist-based societies play different roles in adolescents' autonomy development. The implications of the findings are discussed. © 2013 Springer Science+Business Media New York
The continuity of college students' autonomous learning motivation and its predictors: A three-year longitudinal study
This study examined change in Chinese students' autonomous learning motivation in the first three years of college and how this change is accounted for by intra- and inter-individual variables. The sample included 633 (328 female) college freshmen. Results showed that students' autonomous learning motivation decreased over years in college. Students' perceived parental autonomy support and peer relatedness demonstrated different change patterns over time, but each variable positively predicted students' autonomous learning motivation. Students majoring in science showed a more rapid decline in motivation than liberal arts students. Students studying a major of their own choice showed a higher initial level of motivation than students who were studying a major not of their own choice, but no group difference in the declining trend of motivation was observed. The positive effects of students' perceived institutional support on motivation were limited to the freshmen year. (C) 2011 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved
