Channel Estimation for Ambient Backscatter Communication Systems with Massive-Antenna Reader
Ambient backscatter, an emerging green communication technology, has aroused
great interest from both academia and industry. One open problem for ambient
backscatter communication (AmBC) systems is channel estimation for a
massive-antenna reader. In this paper, we focus on channel estimation problem
in AmBC systems with uniform linear array (ULA) at the reader which consists of
large number of antennas. We first design a two-step method to jointly estimate
channel gains and direction of arrivals (DoAs), and then refine the estimates
through angular rotation. Additionally, Cramer-Rao lower bounds (CRLBs) are
derived for both the modulus of the channel gain and the DoA estimates.
Simulations are then provided to validate the analysis, and to show the

Exceptional and Anisotropic Transport Properties of Photocarriers in Black Phosphorus
We show that black phosphorus has room-temperature charge mobilities on the
order of 10 cmVs, which are about one order of magnitude
larger than silicon. We also demonstrate strong anisotropic transport in black
phosphorus, where the mobilities along the armchair direction are about one
order of magnitude larger than zigzag direction. A photocarrier lifetime as
long as 100 ps is also determined. These results illustrate that black
phosphorus is a promising candidate for future electronic and optoelectronic

Differential Expression ESTs Associated with Fluorosis in Rats Liver
The fluoride has volcanic activity and abundantly exists in environment combining with other elements as fluoride compounds. Recent researches indicated that the molecular mechanisms of intracellular fluoride toxicity were very complex. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying the effects on gene expression of chronic fluoride-induced damage is unknown, especially the detailed regulatory process of mitochondria. In the present study, we screened the differential expression ESTs associated with fluorosis by DDRT-PCR in rat liver. We gained 8 genes, 3 new ESTs, and 1 unknown function sequence and firstly demonstrated that microsomal glutathione S-transferase 1 (MGST1), ATP synthase H+ transporting mitochondrial F0 complex subunit C1, selenoprotein S, mitochondrial IF1 protein, and mitochondrial succinyl-CoA synthetase alpha subunit were participated in mitochondria metabolism, functional and structural damage process caused by chronic fluorosis. This information will be very helpful for understanding the molecular mechanisms of fluorosis
Eisenia fetida Protease-III-1 Functions in Both Fibrinolysis and Fibrogenesis
The fibrinolytic function of earthworm protease-III-1 (Ef P-III-1) has been studied in recent years. Here, we found that Ef P-III-1 acted not only in fibrinogenolysis, but also in fibrogenesis. We have used Ef P-III-1 to hydrolyze fibrinogen, and to activate plasminogen and prothrombin. Based on the N-terminal sequences of the hydrolytic fragments, Ef P-III-1 was showed to specifically recognize the carboxylic sites of arginine and lysine. Analyses by fibrinogenolysis mapping and amino acid sequencing revealed that the isozyme could cleave the alpha, beta, and gamma chains of fibrinogen, showing a high α-fibrinogenase, moderate β-fibrinogenase, and low γ-fibrinogenase activities. Interestingly, Ef P-III-1 activated plasminogen and released active plasmin, suggesting a tPA-like function. Furthermore, Ef P-III-1 showed a factor Xa-like function on prothrombin, producing alpha-thrombin. The function in both activating prothrombin and catalyzing fibrinogenolysis suggests that Ef P-III-1 may play a role in the balance between procoagulation and anticoagulation
