Turkish-Russian adversarial collaboration in Syria, Libya, and Nagorno-Karabakh

Russia and Turkey are backing opposing warring parties in three active conflicts. However, this adversarial positioning has not hindered cooperation between Moscow and Ankara. They reign in opposing sides and, in effect, stage-manage their respective theatres of wars. Through multilateral arrangements, Europe is an enabler of Turkey's position and could leverage its support to push Ankara to cooperate more effectively with its Western partners. Gliosarcoma: a study of four cases

    Get PDF
Gliosarcomas (GS) are highly malignant and rare tumors of the central nervous system with a poor prognosis. We report here on four patients with GS, the median survival for whom was 9.25 months. Prognosis of GS remains poor, and a multidisciplinary approach (surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy) seems to be associated with slightly more prolonged survival times

SIMPLE MODEL FOR THE INPUT IMPEDANCE OF RECTANGULAR MICROSTRIP ANTENNA

    No full text
A very simple model for the input impedance of a coax-fed rectangular microstrip patch antenna is presented. It is based on the cavity model and the equivalent resonant circuits. The theoretical input impedance results obtained from this model are in good agreement with the experimental results available in the literature. This model is well suited for computer-aided design (CAD)

Araştırmanın amacı, 60-66 aylık çocukların bakış açısı alma ve yaratıcı düşünme becerileri arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmada veri toplama amacıyla “Demografik Bilgi Formu”, “Torrance Yaratıcı Düşünme Testi Şekil Testi A Formu” ve “Bakış Açısı Alma Testi” kullanılmıştır.

Dynamic issue queue capping for simultaneous multithreaded processors

    No full text
A simultaneous multithreaded (SMT) processor mixes multiple instruction streams in its superscalar out-of-order execution core for higher throughput. To achieve this, a superscalar processor is modified in such a way that some of its resources are duplicated and the rest is shared among multiple threads. The issue queue (IQ), which holds all waiting instructions until they become ready and scheduled for execution, is among these shared resources. A baseline unmanaged IQ can give an unexpectedly low performance since a hungry thread can tie up most of the IQ entries. This type of scenario is also worse in terms of the fairness metric since some of the threads may experience starvation. Earlier studies propose both static and a limited type of dynamic capping of the IQ entries for regulating IQ traffic and providing better SMT throughput and fairness. In this study, we propose an efficiency-based dynamic capping (EDC) algorithm that calculates an efficiency metric for each thread and allocates the IQ entries for maximizing the throughput and the fairness metrics. EDC gives 3.6% better throughput and 3.9% better fairness results compared to the current state-of-the-art algorithms, on the average. © TÜBİTAK117E866 Türkiye Bilimsel ve Teknolojik Araştirma Kurumu, TÜBITAKThis work is supported by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) under Grant No. 117E866

Accurate synthesis formulas obtained by using a differential evolution algorithm for conductor-backed coplanar waveguides

    No full text
In this paper, accurate synthesis formulas obtained by using a differential evolution (DE) algorithm for conductor-backed coplanar waveguides (CBCPWs) are presented. The synthesis formulas are useful to microwave engineers for accurately calculating the physical dimensions of CBCPWs. The results of the synthesis formulas are compared with the theoretical and experimental results available in the literature. A full-wave electromagnetic simulator IE3D and experimental results are obtained in this work. The average percentage error of the synthesis formulas obtained by using DE algorithm is computed as 0.67% for 1086 CBCPW samples having different electrical parameters and physical dimensions, as compared with the results of quasi-static analysis
