    Thermal Stresses Analysis and Optimized TTP Processes to Achieved CNT-Based Diaphragm for Thin Panel Speakers

    Industrial companies popularly used the powder coating, classing, and thermal transfer printing (TTP) technique to avoid oxidation on the metallic surface and stiffened speaker diaphragm. This study developed a TTP technique to fabricate a carbon nanotubes (CNTs) stiffened speaker diaphragm for thin panel speaker. The self-developed TTP stiffening technique did not require a high curing temperature that decreased the mechanical property of CNTs. In addition to increasing the stiffness of diaphragm substrate, this technique alleviated the middle and high frequency attenuation associated with the smoothing sound pressure curve of thin panel speaker. The advantage of TTP technique is less harmful to the ecology, but it causes thermal residual stresses and some unstable connections between printed plates. Thus, this study used the numerical analysis software (ANSYS) to analyze the stress and thermal of work piece which have not delaminated problems in transfer interface. The Taguchi quality engineering method was applied to identify the optimal manufacturing parameters. Finally, the optimal manufacturing parameters were employed to fabricate a CNT-based diaphragm, which was then assembled onto a speaker. The result indicated that the CNT-based diaphragm improved the sound pressure curve smoothness of the speaker, which produced a minimum high frequency dip difference (ΔdB) value

    Dynamic Finite Element Analysis on Underlay Microstructure of Cu/low-k Wafer during Wirebonding

    The aim of present research is to investigate dynamic stress analysis for microstructure of Cu/Low-K wafer subjected to wirebonding predicted by finite element software ANSYS/LS-DYNA. Two major analyses are conducted in the present research. In the first, the characteristic of heat affected zone (HAZ) and free air ball (FAB) on ultra thin Au wire have been carefully experimental measured. Secondary, the dynamic response on Al pad/beneath the pad of Cu/low-K wafer during wirebonding process has been successfully predicted by finite element analysis (FEA). Tensile mechanical properties of ultra thin wire before/after electric flame-off (EFO) process have been investigated by self-design pull test fixture. The experimental obtained hardening value has significantly influence on localize stressed area on Al pad. This would result in Al pad squeezing around the smashed FAB during impact stage and the consequent thermosonic vibration stage. Microstructure of FAB and HAZ are also carefully measured by micro/nano indentation instruments. All the measured data serves as material inputs for the FEA explicit software ANSYS/LS-DYNA. Because the crack of low-k layer and delamination of copper via are observed, dynamic transient analysis is performed to inspect the overall stress/strain distributions on the microstructure of Cu/low-k wafer. Special emphasizes are focused on the copper via layout and optimal design of Cu/low-k microstructure. It is also shown that the Al pad can be replaced by Al-Cu alloy pad or Cu pad to avoid large deformation on pad and cracking beneath the surface. A series of comprehensive experimental works and FEA predictions have been performed to increase bondability and reliability in this study

    Anti-Bladder-Tumor Effect of Baicalein from Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi and Its Application In Vivo

    Some phytochemicals with the characteristics of cytotoxicity and/or antimetastasis have generated intense interest among the anticancer studies. In this study, a natural flavonoid baicalein was evaluated in bladder cancer in vitro and in vivo. Baicalein inhibits 5637 cell proliferation. It arrests cells in G1 phase at 100 ΌM and in S phase below 75 ΌM. The protein expression of cyclin B1 and cyclin D1 is reduced by baicalein. Baicalein-induced p-ERK plays a minor role in cyclin B1 reduction. Baicalein-inhibited p65NF-ÎșB results in reduction of cell growth. Baicalein-induced pGSK(ser9) has a little effect in increasing cyclin B1/D1 expression instead. The translation inhibitor cycloheximide blocks baicalein-reduced cyclin B1, suggesting that the reduction is caused by protein synthesis inhibition. On the other hand, neither cycloheximide nor proteasome inhibitor MG132 completely blocks baicalein-reduced cyclin D1, suggesting that baicalein reduces cyclin D1 through protein synthesis inhibition and proteasomal degradation activation. In addition, baicalein also inhibits cell invasion by inhibiting MMP-2 and MMP-9 mRNA expression and activity. In mouse orthotopic bladder tumor model, baicalein slightly reduces tumor size but with some hepatic toxicity. In summary, these results demonstrate the anti-bladder-tumor properties of the natural compound baicalein which shows a slight anti-bladder-tumor effect in vivo

    Cryopreservation of Orchid Genetic Resources by Desiccation: A Case Study of Bletilla formosana

    Many native orchid populations declined yearly due to economic development and climate change. This resulted in some wild orchids being threatened. In order to maintain the orchid genetic resources, development of proper methods for the long‐term preservation is urgent. Low temperature or dry storage methods for the preservation of orchid genetic resources have been implemented but are not effective in maintaining high viability of certain orchids for long periods. Cryopreservation is one of the most acceptable methods for long‐term conservation of plant germplasm. Orchid seeds and pollens are ideal materials for long‐term preservation (seed banking) in liquid nitrogen (LN) as the seeds and pollens are minute, enabling the storage of many hundreds of thousands of seeds or pollens in a small vial, and as most species germinate readily, making the technique very economical. This article describes cryopreservation of orchid genetic resources by desiccation and a case study of Bletilla formosana. We hope to provide a more practical potential cryopreservation method for future research needs
