El papel del locus de control del jefe entre el guanxi percibido y la conducta de liderazgo en los negocios familiares

The special and historical relationship network in Chinese societies is based on blood ties or family emotional connection, in which family business appears the best representative. With the specialty of corporate structure, power and leadership between superiors and subordinates are the critical issues for research, where managers’ personality is particularly emphasized. We combine guanxi in Chinese societies, power, influence tactics, and locus of control in the research model, 147 family business in Taiwan are proceeded the questionnaire survey, and 332 valid copies are retrieved. With hierarchical regression analysis, the findings show the close relations between managers’ power, perceived guanxi and leadership behavior, in which managers’ locus of control play a critical role. It is therefore suggested that the assignation of managers in such type of enterprises should be more cautious; in addition to the communication with the subordinates, the fitness with personality and competence should be concerned in order to maintain the favorable work efficiency and the relations between superiors and subordinates.La histórica y especial red de relaciones de la sociedad china se basa en lazos de sangre o en conexiones familiares emocionales de las que los negocios familiares son la mejor representación. Junto con la especialización de las estructuras corporativas, la cuestión clave de esta investigación será el poder y el liderazgo de los jefes sobre los subordinados, poniendo el énfasis en la personalidad del jefe. En el modelo de investigación –administración de un cuestionario a 147 negocios familiares de Taiwán, de los que 332 fueron válidos- combinamos el “guanxi” de las sociedades chinas, el poder, las tácticas para tener influencia y el locus de control. Mediante análisis jerárquicos de regresión los resultados muestran la estrecha relación que se da entre el poder de los jefes, el “guanxi” percibido y la conducta de liderazgo, en la que el locusde control de los jefes desempeña un papel destacado. Por eso se recomienda que la designación de jefes en esas empresas sea más cuidadosa. Además de la comunicación con los subordinados, debe prestarse atención a la adecuación entre personalidad y la competencia para mantener una eficiencia laboral y unas relaciones entre jefes y subordinados favorables

Persistent surgical wound bleeding: A rare condition related to acquired hemophilia A

SummaryAcquired hemophilia A (AHA) is a rare condition that predisposes affected patients to a bleeding tendency, even after a trivial physical insult. We present our experience with a 45-year-old male patient who was referred to our institute because of persistent bleeding from a left forearm surgical wound after fasciotomy. He was diagnosed as having AHA. Surgical treatment in combination with recombinant activated factor VII (rFVIIa) led to a satisfactory result. Clinical awareness and multidisciplinary professional connections are necessary in the treatment of AHA. Acquired hemophilia should be considered in the differential diagnosis of patients with uncontrolled bleeding episodes

Exploring correlations among tourism characteristics, visitor behavior intention, and customer satisfaction

In the process of getting into the 21st century, Taiwan left behind the agriculture-based economic system and changed it for high-density and elaboration industries. With progressing societies and economic development, tourism, leisure and recreational industries have boomed. Moreover, the implementation of two-day weekend policy has increased the leisure time and the frequency of tourism and recreation activities. The correlations between Tourism Characteristics, Visitor Behavior Intention, and Customer Satisfaction are therefore discussed in this study. Focussing on Xitou Nature Education Area, the customers were distributed 250 copies of questionnaires. A total of 182 valid copies were retrieved, with the retrieval rate of 73%. The research results show significant correlations between 1. Tourism Characteristics and Customer Satisfaction, 2. Customer Satisfaction and Behavior Intention, and 3. Tourism Characteristics and Behavior Intention. The research results are expected to provide assistance and suggestions for tourism industries developing industrial characteristics

Identifying the relationships among Guanxi, political climate and power bases: evidence from Taiwan

Although Guanxi, political climate, and power are common business practices in the workplace, the popularity in research has yet to be intensified. This study aims to explore the effects of Guanxi, political climate, and power bases and the moderating effects of political climate. Questionnaires were issued to workers across service and manufacturing industries and 1099 valid responses were collected. The results from hierarchical regression analyses indicated significant relationships between Guanxi and power bases in various patterns. Significant relationships also emerged between political climate and power bases. Partial mediating effects of political climate were found between the relationships of Guanxi and power bases. Recommendations, suggestions, and conclusions were also presented on the basis of the empirical findings

Effects of computer integrated instruction on learning satisfaction: take the University of Tourism's student as an example

Higher Education Teachers are identified in both educational reform and instructional theory with being able to apply Computer Integrated Instruction to the teaching approach for more diverse changes correspondent with the demand in the era. In empirical research, innovative Computer Integrated Instruction is also proved to be able to enhance teachers' learning and teaching effectiveness and students' learning outcome. Research issues on teachers' Computer Integrated Instruction should be based on understanding that it could enhance Learning Satisfaction. In this case, this study tends to discuss the effects of Computer Integrated Instruction on Learning Satisfaction through the use of a questionnaire survey. The research results show the significantly positive correlations between Computer Integrated Instruction and Curriculum, Teaching Approach, and Learning Method; and, people with distinct gender, age, and grade appear various viewpoints on Learning Satisfaction. Such research results could provide recommendations for the authorities, private and public universities, and further researchers and reference of the government private and public universities practicing information education

Switching Intention and Behaviors to Wetland Ecotourism after the COVID-19 Pandemic: The Perspective of Push-Pull-Mooring Model

This study used a push–pull–mooring model (PPM model) to build an integrated model to explain the influencing factors of tourists’ switching intention to wetland ecotourism after the COVID-19 pandemic. The push effect is crowding perception, the pull effect is nature-based destination attractiveness, and the mooring effect is the risk perception of COVID-19. The study collected 551 valid research samples by questionnaire survey in two world-class wetlands in Taiwan. The results of the regression analysis showed that push, pull, and mooring influenced tourists’ switching intention to wetland ecotourism. Among them, the mooring effect regulated the relationship between the push effect and switching intention to wetland ecotourism, but did not regulate the relationship between the pull effect and switching intention to wetland ecotourism. Finally, the switching intention to wetland ecotourism further influenced wetland ecotourism behaviors. It is expected that people can go outdoors after the COVID-19 pandemic and bring substantial economic benefits of tourism to wetland ecological attractions in Taiwan
