Stochastic Viscoelastic Wave Equations with Nonlinear Damping and Source Terms
The goal of this paper is to study an initial boundary value problem of stochastic
viscoelastic wave equation with nonlinear damping and source terms. Under certain conditions
on the initial data: the relaxation function, the indices of nonlinear damping, and
source terms and the random force, we prove the local existence and uniqueness of solution
by the Galerkin approximation method. Then, considering the relationship between the
indices of nonlinear damping and nonlinear source, we give the necessary conditions of
global existence and explosion in finite time in some sense of solutions, respectively
Survival of AIDS Patients Treated with Traditional Chinese Medicine in Rural Central China: A Retrospective Cohort Study, 2004–2012
This study aimed to explore the survival of AIDS patients treated with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in addition to combined antiretroviral therapy (cART) and of AIDS patients treated with cART. Data of patients taking cART between 30 October 2003 and 30 October 2004 in the National TCM HIV Treatment Trial Program area were retrospectively analyzed, with follow-up from 30 October 2004 to 30 October 2012. The log-rank test was used to compare survival between the two groups. A Cox proportional hazards model was used to determine hazard ratios to identify prognostic factors. The study included 521 patients in the TCM + cART group followed up for 3548 person-years and 375 patients in the cART group followed up for 2523 person-years. Mortality rates were 3.2/100 person-years and 4.2/100 person-years in the TCM + cART and cART groups, respectively. The difference in survival was significant. After adjusting for explanatory variables, the mortality rate of AIDS patients in the cART group was 1.7 times higher than in the TCM + cART group. Male sex, older age, little education, and lower CD4 cell count were risk factors for mortality. TCM intervention in addition to cART could increase survival of AIDS patients
An In-Context Schema Understanding Method for Knowledge Base Question Answering
The Knowledge Base Question Answering (KBQA) task aims to answer natural
language questions based on a given knowledge base. As a kind of common method
for this task, semantic parsing-based ones first convert natural language
questions to logical forms (e.g., SPARQL queries) and then execute them on
knowledge bases to get answers. Recently, Large Language Models (LLMs) have
shown strong abilities in language understanding and may be adopted as semantic
parsers in such kinds of methods. However, in doing so, a great challenge for
LLMs is to understand the schema of knowledge bases. Therefore, in this paper,
we propose an In-Context Schema Understanding (ICSU) method for facilitating
LLMs to be used as a semantic parser in KBQA. Specifically, ICSU adopts the
In-context Learning mechanism to instruct LLMs to generate SPARQL queries with
examples. In order to retrieve appropriate examples from annotated
question-query pairs, which contain comprehensive schema information related to
questions, ICSU explores four different retrieval strategies. Experimental
results on the largest KBQA benchmark, KQA Pro, show that ICSU with all these
strategies outperforms that with a random retrieval strategy significantly
(from 12\% to 78.76\% in accuracy)
Nested Event Extraction upon Pivot Element Recogniton
Nested Event Extraction (NEE) aims to extract complex event structures where
an event contains other events as its arguments recursively. Nested events
involve a kind of Pivot Elements (PEs) that simultaneously act as arguments of
outer events and as triggers of inner events, and thus connect them into nested
structures. This special characteristic of PEs brings challenges to existing
NEE methods, as they cannot well cope with the dual identities of PEs.
Therefore, this paper proposes a new model, called PerNee, which extracts
nested events mainly based on recognizing PEs. Specifically, PerNee first
recognizes the triggers of both inner and outer events and further recognizes
the PEs via classifying the relation type between trigger pairs. In order to
obtain better representations of triggers and arguments to further improve NEE
performance, it incorporates the information of both event types and argument
roles into PerNee through prompt learning. Since existing NEE datasets (e.g.,
Genia11) are limited to specific domains and contain a narrow range of event
types with nested structures, we systematically categorize nested events in
generic domain and construct a new NEE dataset, namely ACE2005-Nest.
Experimental results demonstrate that PerNee consistently achieves
state-of-the-art performance on ACE2005-Nest, Genia11 and Genia13
\u3cem\u3eIn Situ\u3c/em\u3e Activated Co\u3csub\u3e3–x\u3c/sub\u3eNi\u3csub\u3ex\u3c/sub\u3eO\u3csub\u3e4\u3c/sub\u3e as a Highly Active and Ultrastable Electrocatalyst for Hydrogen Generation
The spinel Co3O4 has emerged as a promising alternative to noble-metal-based electrocatalysts for electrochemical water electrolysis in alkaline medium. However, pure Co3O4, despite having high activity in anodic water oxidation, remains inactive toward the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Here, a Ni-doped Co3O4(Co3–xNixO4) prepared by a simple method exhibits favorable HER activity and stability (\u3e300 h, whether in 1 M KOH or the realistic 30 wt % KOH solution) after in situ electrochemical activation, outperforming almost all of the oxide-based electrocatalysts. More importantly, using the combination of in situ Raman spectroscopy and multiple high-resolution electron microscopy techniques, it is identified that the surface of Co3–xNixO4 crystals is reduced into intertwined CoyNi1–yO nanoparticles with highly exposed {110} reactive planes. Density functional theory calculations further prove that the Ni-doped CoO component in CoyNi1–yO plays a major role during the alkaline HER, because the introduction of Ni atoms into Co–O octahedra can optimize the electrical conductivity and tailor the adsorption/desorption free energies of Had and OHad intermediates
High-throughput Sequencing Analysis of Diversity and Spatial Heterogeneity of Fungal Community in Pit Muds of Different Ages for Baijiu Production
The fungal community structure, the relationship between fungal flora and physicochemical factors, and the prediction of fungal function in pit muds from different spatial positions of 10- and 50-year-old cellars at Jinhui liquor Co. Ltd. were studied by using Illumina NovaSeq high-throughput sequencing, redundancy analysis and Fungi Functional Guild (FUNGuild). The results showed that the fungal diversity and richness of the 10-year-old pit mud decreased with increasing depth; the fungal diversity of the 50-year-old pit mud showed an overall increasing trend, while the fungal richness initially decrease and then increased. Moreover, for the 10-year-old pit, the fungal diversity and richness of the upper layer of the pit wall were significantly higher than those of the other positions (P < 0.05), while for the 50-year-old cellar, the fungal diversity and richness of the bottom layer were significantly higher than those of the other locations (P < 0.05). The fungal diversity and richness were significantly higher in the wall of the 10-year-old cellar than the 50-year-old cellar (P < 0.05), but were significantly higher in the bottom of the 50-year-old cellar than the 10-year-old cellar (P < 0.05). A total of 21 fungal phyla and 520 genera were detected in all pit mud samples, the relative abundance of four dominant phyla (Ascomycota, Basidiomycota, Mortierellomycota and Rozellomycota) and most dominant genera such as Aspergillus and Kazachstania showed significant changes among pit ages and spatial locations (P < 0.05). Fusarium, Aspergillus, Saccharomyces and Monascus were positively correlated with the contents of water, humus, K+ and Ca2+, while Cladosporium and Vishniacozyma were positively correlated with pH. Seven nutritional modes of fungi were observed, mainly including saprophytic and pathological-saprophytic-symbiotic nutritional modes, and four single and seven mixed functional groups were determined.
