Role of fractal dimension in random walks on scale-free networks
Fractal dimension is central to understanding dynamical processes occurring
on networks; however, the relation between fractal dimension and random walks
on fractal scale-free networks has been rarely addressed, despite the fact that
such networks are ubiquitous in real-life world. In this paper, we study the
trapping problem on two families of networks. The first is deterministic, often
called -flowers; the other is random, which is a combination of
-flower and -flower and thus called hybrid networks. The two
network families display rich behavior as observed in various real systems, as
well as some unique topological properties not shared by other networks. We
derive analytically the average trapping time for random walks on both the
-flowers and the hybrid networks with an immobile trap positioned at an
initial node, i.e., a hub node with the highest degree in the networks. Based
on these analytical formulae, we show how the average trapping time scales with
the network size. Comparing the obtained results, we further uncover that
fractal dimension plays a decisive role in the behavior of average trapping
time on fractal scale-free networks, i.e., the average trapping time decreases
with an increasing fractal dimension.Comment: Definitive version published in European Physical Journal
Entropy spectrum of a Kerr anti-de Sitter black hole
The entropy spectrum of a spherically symmetric black hole was derived
without the quasinormal modes in the work of Majhi and Vagenas. Extending this
work to rotating black holes, we quantize the entropy and the horizon area of a
Kerr anti-de Sitter black hole by two methods. The spectra of entropy and area
are obtained via the Bohr-Sommerfeld quantization rule and the adiabatic
invariance in the first way. By addressing the wave function of emitted
(absorbed) particles, the entropy and the area are quantized in the second one.
Both results show that the entropy and the area spectra are equally spaced.Comment: Accepted for publication in The European Physical Journal C, Volume

Phenomenological Analysis of B->PP Decays with QCD Factorization
In this paper, we study nonleptonic charmless B decays to two light
pseudoscalar mesons within the frame of QCD factorization, including the
contributions from the chirally enhanced power corrections and weak
annihilation. Predictions for the CP-averaged branching ratios and CP-violating
asymmetries are given. Within the reasonable range of the parameters, we find
that our predictions for the branching ratios of B -> PP are consistent with
the present experimental data. But because of the logarithmic divergences at
the endpoints in the hard spectator scatterings and weak annihilation, there
are still large uncertainties in these predictions.Comment: 34 pages, 5 figures. to appear in PR
The sintering, sintered microstructure and mechanical properties of Ti-Fe-Si Alloys
A systematic study has been conducted of the sintering, sintered microstructure and tensile properties of a range of lower cost Ti-Fe-Si alloys, including Ti-3Fe-(0-4)Si, Ti-(3-6)Fe-0.5Si, and Ti-(3-6)Fe-1Si (in wt pct throughout). Small additions of Si (≤1 pct) noticeably improve the as-sintered tensile properties of Ti-3Fe alloy, including the ductility, with fine titanium silicides (TiSi) being dispersed in both the α and β phases. Conversely, additions of >1 pct Si produce coarse and/or networked TiSi silicides along the grain boundaries leading to predominantly intergranular fracture and, hence, poor ductility, although the tensile strength continues to increase because of the reinforcement by TiSi. Increasing the Fe content in the Ti-xFe-0.5/ 1.0Si alloys above 3 pct markedly increases the average grain size and changes the morphology of the α-phase phase to much thinner and more acicular laths. Consequently, the ductility drops t
Charmless Decays Based on the six-quark Effective Hamiltonian with Strong Phase Effects II
We provide a systematic study of charmless decays (
and denote pseudoscalar and vector mesons, respectively) based on an
approximate six-quark operator effective Hamiltonian from QCD. The calculation
of the relevant hard-scattering kernels is carried out, the resulting
transition form factors are consistent with the results of QCD sum rule
calculations. By taking into account important classes of power corrections
involving "chirally-enhanced" terms and the vertex corrections as well as weak
annihilation contributions with non-trivial strong phase, we present
predictions for the branching ratios and CP asymmetries of decays into
PP, PV and VV final states, and also for the corresponding polarization
observables in VV final states. It is found that the weak annihilation
contributions with non-trivial strong phase have remarkable effects on the
observables in the color-suppressed and penguin-dominated decay modes. In
addition, we discuss the SU(3) flavor symmetry and show that the symmetry
relations are generally respected
Direct Measurements of the Branching Fractions for and and Determinations of the Form Factors and
The absolute branching fractions for the decays and

tagged sample from the data collected around 3.773 GeV with the
BES-II detector at the BEPC. In the system recoiling against the singly tagged
meson, events for and events for decays are observed. Those yield
the absolute branching fractions to be and . The

Search for the Lepton Flavor Violation Processes and
The lepton flavor violation processes and are
searched for using a sample of 5.8 events collected with
the BESII detector. Zero and one candidate events, consistent with the
estimated background, are observed in and
decays, respectively. Upper limits on the branching ratios are determined to be

The pole in
Using a sample of 58 million events recorded in the BESII detector,
the decay is studied. There are conspicuous

broad peak due to the is observed, and its pole position is determined
to be - MeV from the mean of six analyses.
The errors are dominated by the systematic errors.Comment: 15 pages, 6 figures, submitted to PL
