    Chiral magnetic currents with QGP medium response in heavy ion collisions at RHIC and LHC energies

    We calculate the electromagnetic current with a more realistic approach in the RHIC and LHC energy regions in the article. We take the partons formation time as the initial time of the magnetic field response of QGP medium. The maximum electromagnetic current and the time-integrated current are two important characteristics of the chiral magnetic effect (CME), which can characterize the intensity and duration of fluctuations of CME. We consider the finite frequency response of CME to a time-varying magnetic field, find a significant impact from QGP medium feedback, and estimate the generated electromagnetic current as a function of time, beam energy and impact parameter.Comment: 10 pages, 12 figur

    Rogue waves in the massive Thirring model

    In this paper, general rogue wave solutions in the massive Thirring (MT) model are derived by using the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (KP) hierarchy reduction method and these rational solutions are presented explicitly in terms of determinants whose matrix elements are elementary Schur polynomials. In the reduction process, three reduction conditions including one index- and two dimension-ones are proved to be consistent by only one constraint relation on parameters of tau-functions of the KP-Toda hierarchy. It is found that the rogue wavesolutions in the MTmodeldependontwobackgroundparameters,whichinfluencetheirorientation and duration. Differing from many other coupled integrable systems, the MT model only admits the rogue waves of bright-type, and thehigher-orderroguewavesrepresentthe superposition offundamentalonesinwhichthe non-reducible parameters determine the arrangement patterns of fundamental rogue waves. Particularly, the super rogue wave at each order can be achieved simply by setting all internal parameters to be zero, resulting in the amplitude of the sole huge peak of order N being 2N +1 times the background. Finally, rogue wave patterns are discussed when one of the internal parameters is large. Similar to other integrable equations, the patterns are shown to be associated with the root structures of the Yablonskii-Vorob’ev polynomial hierarchy through a linear transformation

    Growth differentiation factor 11 (GDF11) has been implicated in rejuvenating functions in age-related diseases. The molecular mechanisms connecting GDF11 with these anti-aging phenomena, including reverse age-related cardiac hypertrophy and vascular and neurogenic rejuvenation, remain unclear. In this study, we sought to uncover the molecular functions of GDF11 using bioinformatics and network-driven analyses at the human gene and transcription levels using the gene co-expression network analysis, the protein-protein interaction network analysis, and the transcription factor network analysis. Our findings suggested that GDF11 is involved in a variety of functions, such as apoptosis, DNA repair, telomere maintenance, and interaction with key transcription factors, such as MYC proto-oncogene, specificity protein 1, and ETS proto-oncogene 2. The human skin fibroblast premature senescence model was established by UVB. The treatment with 10 ng/mL GDF11 in this cell model could reduce cell damage, reduce the apoptosis rate and the expression of caspase-3, and increase the length of telomeres. Therefore, our findings shed light on the functions of GDF11 and provide insights into the roles of GDF11 in aging

    This paper gives an overview of the ten-year devel- opment of the papers presented at the International ACM Conference on Automotive User Interfaces and Interactive Vehicular Applications (AutoUI) from 2009 to 2018. We categorize the topics into two main groups, namely, manual driving-related research and automated driving-related re- search. Within manual driving, we mainly focus on studies on user interfaces (UIs), driver states, augmented reality and head-up displays, and methodology; Within automated driv- ing, we discuss topics, such as takeover, acceptance and trust, interacting with road users, UIs, and methodology.     Effects of vitamins and trace-elements supplementation on milk production in dairy cows: A review

    During the past decade, significant advances were made in understanding the effects of vitamins and trace-elements supplement on milk production of dairy cows. This work discussed the effects of vitamins and trace-elements supplementation on milk production of dairy cows. Studies have indicated that vitamin A (VA) and β-carotene (BC) supplementation have some effects on udder health and milk yield in dairy cows whose intake is below 110 IU/kg BW/day. If low quality forage is fed, supplementation of VA should be considered. Supplementation of B-vitamin has important effects on milk production and could increase milk yield and milk component production. The effect of vitamin E (VE) and selenium (Se) supplementation on the milk yield and milk components are not unified due to the optimum dose, route and timing of VE administration in lactational dairy cows. Zinc (Zn) supplementation increases lactation performance and reduces milk somatic cell count (SCC) in most studies. Limited research has indicated that copper (Cu) supplementation could reduce milk SCC. Before deciding to supplement vitamins and trace-minerals indicated earlier for the improvement of milk production of lactational cows, farmers should have their animals fed with tested and evaluated rations to be sure of the levels of supplementation which may be warranted.Keywords: Vitamin, trace-element, dairy cow, milk productio

    Experimental Free-Space Distribution of Entangled Photon Pairs over a Noisy Ground Atmosphere of 13km

    We report free-space distribution of entangled photon pairs over a noisy ground atmosphere of 13km. It is shown that the desired entanglement can still survive after the two entangled photons have passed through the noisy ground atmosphere. This is confirmed by observing a space-like separated violation of Bell inequality of 2.45±0.092.45 \pm 0.09. On this basis, we exploit the distributed entangled photon source to demonstrate the BB84 quantum cryptography scheme. The distribution distance of entangled photon pairs achieved in the experiment is for the first time well beyond the effective thickness of the aerosphere, hence presenting a significant step towards satellite-based global quantum communication.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figure
