    The influence of non-domestic factors on elite sport development and anti-doping policy : the cases of Japan and the UK/England

    The aim of this thesis is to examine the extent to which selected aspects of sport policy in Japan and also UK/England are influenced by international forces. The objectives which underpin the research aim are to analyse the characteristics of the domestic policy areas and identify the varying degree of impact of external influences on domestic sport policy. The thesis examines the interactions between domestic and international factors that shape elite sport policy and anti-doping policy and seeks to identify how domestic institutional values and ideas have been shaped by global influences. Importantly, by analysing the nature and mechanisms of global influence that are manifest at the domestic level, it is intended to identify varying degree of impact external to national policy. To achieve the above objectives, a qualitative methodology and related documentary research methods are adopted in the empirical investigations. Policy document analysis and semi-structured interviews are employed. The cases of UK (or England where appropriate) are introduced in order to generate a deeper understanding of the development of Japanese elite sport and anti-doping policy. The thesis draws on a range of theoretical frameworks, including international relations theory, international regime theory and globalisation, to analyse the empirical data.     The murder case involving the primary school girl by her classmate that ocurred in June of 2004 has special characteristics pertaining to the time, and the place of the case, as well as to the relationship between the victim and the assailant. In an effort to elucidate the cause of the murder, a great deal of information and various ideas from experts have been flowing from the media. However, the assailant, her family and their home life do not differ from the normal family in today's Japan. Taking all of this into consideration, we will give an opinion about what is lacking in the current education system with reference to the relation between emotion, will and action

    中高年期の健常成人を対象として,徳島大学人と地域共創センターの公開講座「発達心理学を用いて過去から未来へ」の中で回想法を用いたグループワークを行った。2019 年度は,講座開催回数5 回のうち,心理検査の実施が2 回,グループ回想法実施が2 回であった。心理検査結果の説明後,それぞれ自分のパーソナリティに関する質問があった。回想法では,それぞれの人生の切片が語られた。心理検査結果の理解を通してそれぞれ自分のパーソナリティへの理解が深まった。グループでの分かち合いでは,それぞれが語った内容の共有を通して,それぞれの人生の見直しが語られ,これからの残りの人生を考えて行きたいという意見があった。The author conducted a course entitled “From the past to the future using developmental psychology” in the university’s open studies program at the Center for Community Engagement and Lifelong Learning of Tokushima University using the reminiscence method. The object was healthy middle-aged and old people. In the year 2019, 5 lectures were given. Among them, psychological tests were performed twice and group reminiscence methods were conducted twice as well. After explaining the psychological tests results, each of the participants asked questions about their own personality. On the reminiscence method, each one of the participants related one personal experience. As for the psychological test, after the explanation and understanding of the results, each one fostered a better understanding of his personality. In the group of the reminiscence method, review of each one’s life was carried on through the sharing of all the participants. Someone manifested the desire of continuing this thinking for the rest of the life

    徳島市,徳島県の特別支援教育への支援事業の一環として大学生を学習支援ボランティアとして小学校や中学校に派遣する事業を開始して6年目を迎えている。その中で,特に両者の連絡体制に課題があることが判明してきた。本調査では,ボランティア学生と派遣校とのパイプ役であることが多い特別支援教育コーディネータを対象として質問紙調査を実施し,ボランティア学生との連絡体制、支援体制についての問題点と解決方法について明らかにすることを目的とした。次の結果が得られた。ボランティア学生の指導を行っているコーディネータは約半数であった。ボランティア学生への指導はボラン ティア学生との話し合いが有効と考えているが,コーディネータの業務が多く,打ち合わせ時間が不足している。連絡記録表はその補助手段として有効である。Six years have passed since we started the project to dispatch learning support volunteer students to elementary and middle schools as part of its assistance to special education in Tokushima Prefecture and Tokushima city. In this report we investigated the problem of the contact system between learning support volunteers and school teachers.The method was a questionnaire.The participants were special education coordinators. The results obtained were as follows: Half of them gave guidance to the students. They thought that a valid guidance to learning support volunteers students was having discussion with them,but meeting time fell short because of the many activities of special education coordinators.Tables to contact and record proved useful as supplementary means

    A review of life using group reminiscence therapy

    回想法は単に過去を懐かしみ昔の思い出に浸ることを促すものだけでなく,過去を現在に活かすという心理的援助技法である。その上,回想が他者に語られるという点において,「分かち合う」という社会的機能も大きく関与する。本報告では,グループ回想法を用いて自分の人生を振り返るという作業を通して,過去を現在に活かし,それを未来に活かすことができるのかを検討することを目的とした。グループ回想法に参加したのは9名(男性5名,女性4名)であり,年齢幅は37~ 82 歳(平均63.89 歳)であった。8回のセッションで5テーマの回想法を実施した。その結果,5回の文章数は4回目の旅行をテーマにした回想法で有意に多かった。参加者別で文章数に有意差が認められなかった。「分かち合い」は,回想法の回数を経るに従って活発になった。今後,回想法を通して,回想を他者に語り,分かち合うことで過去を現在,未来に活かせているかを検討する必要がある。The reminiscence therapy is not only the one that encourages the immersion in old memories nostalgic of the past, but also the psychological aid technique to make use of the past to the present. Moreover, as the reminiscence is narrated to others, the social function of “sharing” is also greatly involved. In this report the author aimed to explore the possibility of utilizing the past to the present through the work of looking back on one`s own life using group reminiscence therapy and make use of it for the future. Nine people (5 males and 4 females) participated in the group recollecting method. The age was 37 to 82 years (average 63.89 years). The author carried out five themes of this reminiscence therapy in 8 sessions. As a result, the number of sentences in five times was significantly larger in the 4th reminiscence therapy with the theme of traveling. There was no significant difference in the number of sentences expressed by participants. “Sharing” became more active as the number of reminiscences increased. From now on, through reminiscence, it seems necessary to explore how to use the past to the present and future by telling others reminiscences of the past and sharing them

    Developmental support in radiation disaster medium- and long-term support program

    After the Great East Japan Earthquake in March 2011, the Tokushima University has sealed an agreement with the city of Shirakawa in the Fukushima Prefecture for support in the radiation disaster. The project team of the Tokushima University has been conducting radiation learning meetings, doing health promotion, exercise guidance and development assistance. As for the development assistance, the author carried it out seven times until now. Each time lasted three days. Initially, the people showed some distrust, but we managed to build a reliable relationship. Five years have passed.Now in this year 2015 the author have been asked to continue to support nursery schools and kindergartens. The author conducted every time individual counseling for parents on the development of their children. All the contents were reported. Finally, the author made some reflections about the necessity to continue this supporting activities in the future

    The Meaning of Memories through Life Stories : In University Open Lectures

    日本の高齢化率は高く,平均寿命も長い。定年後から死ぬまでの期間,生きがいをもって生きることが必要である。本調査・報告では,徳島大学人と地域共創センター公開講座の受講者が,「人生ストーリー」という方法を用いて,自分の人生を振り返り,今後の人生の過ごし方への目安が得られるか,「人生ストーリー」の前後でどのような変化がみられたかを検討した。今回はCOVID-19の影響を受け,受講者は3名と少なく,個別にワークシートを使用しての振り返りを中心に行った。自分の人生を書いて振り返ることで,「自分の人生への捉え方が変わり,前向きになった」という回答が得られたことから,「人生ストーリー」を用いて,自分の人生を振り返ることは,その後の人生の生き方に積極的な意味を与える可能性が示唆された。しかしながら,受講者の中には,明確な変化のみられなかった者もおり,今後,調査対象者を増やして検討を続ける必要がある。In Japan, the rate of elderly people is high, as is the average life expectancy. Therefore, from the day of retirement until the end of oneʼs days, it is imperative to lead a worthwhile life. In this report, the author examined whether participants in an open lecture at the Center for Community Engagement and Lifelong Learning Tokushima University used the life story method to look back on their lives and obtain guidelines for how to spend their future lives, and what changes were observed before and after the life story. Due to the influence of COVID-19, there were only three participants in this course, so the focus was on individual reflections using worksheets. The participants responded that writing and reflecting on their lives changed the way they viewed their lives and made them more positive, suggesting that reflecting on oneʼs life using a life story may have a positive meaning for the way one lives oneʼs life in subsequent years

    Problems in the school education, like classroom chaos, bullying, truancy and decline in academic achievement,have occurred from the late 1990's. Various attempts,for example,school counselor or teaching assistant,h ave been made to solve these problems. In this study the author aimed at explaining the relationship between examined academic achievement and learning attitude. The subjects were 2nd to 6th grade children. Tests of reading, writing and calculation were created to be answered by them. The results showed a great score variation in all grades. Especially this was sharp in hearing ability. From these results, there was a discussion about the necessary factors in school education
