Prostatic duct adenocarcinoma with endometrioid features: report of a rare case and brief review of the literature
We report the case of a 78-year-old male patient who presented with dysuria and lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). After routine blood and urine analysis, the patient underwent ultrasonography which revealed a hypertrophied and inhomogenous prostate extending to the bladder neck. Open biopsy from the bladder neck was performed. The histopathological findings were found to be consistent with prostatic duct adenocarcinoma with endometrioid features.Key Words: Prostate, duct, carcinoma, endometrioid, lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS), dysuria
Ectopic splenic tissue in the testis: a case report
Splenogonadal fusion is a rare congenital anomaly that has been encountered in all age groups. It is defined as an abnormal connection between spleen and gonad or mesonephros derivatives. We report a case of splenogonadal fusion which was diagnosed incidentally in a 38-year-old man with a history of infertility. This rare entity should be considered in the differential diagnosis of testicular masses.Key Words: Splenogonadal fusion, testicular mass
Mucoid Cyst of The Penile Skin: A Rare Entity
A 9-year old male patient was admitted to our clinic for circumcision. Physical examination revealed a mass in the prepuce. After excision of the mass, histopathological examination was consistent with a mucoid cyst of the penile skin, which has been rarely reported. Pathologists and clinicians dealing with genitourinary system pathology should be familiar with this rarely encountered entity.Key Words: Mucoid cyst, penile ski
Crowds in or crowds out? The effect of foreign direct investment on domestic investment in Chinese cities
This study investigates the empirical relationship between foreign direct investment (FDI) and domestic investment (DI) in China using a comprehensive city-level panel over the period from 2003 to 2011. System-generalized method-of-moment estimation reveals mixed results. At the national level, FDI neither crowds in nor crowds out DI, indicating a neutral FDI–DI nexus. However, when the full sample is segmented by geographical topology, a positive and significant FDI–DI nexus can be found in eastern and, to a lesser extent, central cities. A negative, although insignificant, association is reported among western cities. Further, the empirical nexus is conditional on several local absorptive capacities including human capital, financial development, and institutional quality. These findings suggest that a region-based FDI strategy in general and local governments should strengthen their absorptive capacities to fully internalize FDI spillovers
Systemic Inflammation and Arrhythmogenesis: A Review of Mechanistic and Clinical Perspectives
Synovial Hemangioma of the Knee: A Rare Pathology
A 77 year old female patient was admitted to our clinic with a history of swelling in the right knee. After surgical excision of the mass, the pathological examination was found to be consistent with the synovial hemangioma of the knee which has been rarely reported up till now. Pathologists and clinicians dealing with the articular pathologies should be familiar with this rarely encountered entity.Key words: Synovial hemangioma, knee joint swellin

Coronary collateral circulation: Any effect on P-wave dispersion?
Coronary collateral circulation determines the severity of ischemic myocardial damage. Increased P-wave dispersion is an independent predictor for atrial fibrillation. Consistent evidence is little about the relation between coronary collateral circulation and arrhythmia risk. In this article, the effect of coronary collateral circulation on P-wave dispersion was evaluated. Collateral grade and p-wave dispersion were ascertained in 100 patients with >= 85% diameter stenoses in left anterior descending or right coronary arteries. Left ventricular function score was also determined in all patients. Coronary collateral circulation was absent in 32 patients, whereas 68 patients had coronary collateral circulation. Patients with collateral grade A had greater left ventricular function score than did patients with collateral grade 0 (P = .048). However, there was no significant difference between P-wave dispersion of patients with and without coronary collateral circulation (P = .45). The presence of coronary collateral circulation failed to exert a beneficial decreasing effect on P-wave dispersion
