    Branching Populations of Cells Bearing a Continuous Label

    2000 Mathematics Subject Classification: 60J80.This paper is concerned with an age-dependent branching process with particles (cells) bearing a label, the latter being treated as a continuous parameter. The proposed stochastic model is motivated by applications in cell biology. It is assumed that the mitotic division results in a random distribution of the label among daughter cells in accordance with some bivariate probability distribution. In the event of cell death the label borne by that cell disappears. The main focus is on the label distribution as a function of the time elapsed from the moment of label administration. Explicit expressions for this distribution are derived in some particular cases which are of practical interest in the analysis of cell cycle.     Gravitational oscillations in multidimensional anisotropic model with cosmological constant and their contributions into the energy of vacuum

    Were studied classical oscillations of background metric in the multidimensional anisotropic model of Kazner in the de-Sitter stage. Obtained dependence of fluctuations on dimension of space-time with infinite expansion. Stability of the model could be achieved when number of space-like dimensions equals or more then four. Were calculated contributions to the density of "vacuum energy", that are providing by proper oscillations of background metric and compared with contribution of cosmological arising of particles due to expansion. As it turned out, contribution of gravitational oscillation of metric into density of "vacuum energy" should play significant role in the de-Sitter stage

    Effect of gold and nickel co-additives on gas-sensitive characteristics of SnO2 thin-film on exposure to hydrogen and nitrogen dioxide

    The results of investigation of the gas-sensitive properties of sensors based on the tin dioxide thin films with combined additives of gold and nickel obtained by the DC - magnetron sputtering are presented. The investigated sensors are characterized by a high response to low concentrations of NO2 of 0.45 – 10.23 ppm at temperatures of 50 – 150 °C with response time of 10 s. The sensitivity of sensors to hydrogen appears at the temperature of 250 °C. The hydrogen sensors are characterized by high reproducibility of the measurement results. The obtained results are explained by the synergistic effect of gold and nickel additives, as well as the ability of the Ni to prevent the interaction of hydrogen with lattice oxygen atoms in the subsurface part of tin dioxide
