    Criminal Registration in the Service of the Penitentiary System

    Introduction: the article deals with problems of information and analytical support of law enforcement intelligence operations conducted by bodies and institutions of the penal system, considered in dissertations defended in dissertation councils at educational and scientific organizations of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia. Specific attention is paid to the use of personal biometric data of persons held in places of deprivation of liberty. The author analyzes a fairly long historical retrospective of the use of criminal registration in penitentiary practice. This work is evaluated from the point of view of obtaining results of law enforcement intelligence operations and is positioned as an informational basis for operational investigative identification. The legal basis of modern criminal registration in the penal system is evaluated. The author also considers modern hardware and software complexes designed for personal identification, as well as issues of interaction between the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia and other departments, primarily internal affairs bodies, in addressing these issues. Purpose: based on a retrospective analysis of the essence and content of criminal registration in the penal system, to make a conclusion about prospects for its development in the modern period and foreseeable future. Methods: universal method of cognition – dialectical materialism based on the laws of dialectics; formal logical methods – analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, abstraction, analogy; general scientific methods – observation, comparison, description, etc.; and private scientific method of historical analogy. Results: the analysis of the criminal registration development in the penitentiary system shows that further improvement of this area of information support for operational investigative activities is associated with the use of modern hardware and software and the establishment of close interdepartmental interaction. Conclusions: the modern Russian penal system needs to ensure further development of criminal registration, taking into account the experience gained in this area by other law enforcement agencies and special services, including foreign ones. It is also necessary to initiate the adoption of normative legal acts regulating interdepartmental interaction in the field under consideration

    Universal Statistics of Transport in Disordered Conductors

    In low temperature limit, we study electron counting statistics of a disordered conductor. We derive an expression for the distribution of charge transmitted over a finite time interval by using a result from the random matrix theory of quasi one dimensional disordered conductors. In the metallic regime, we find that the peak of the distribution is Gaussian and shows negligible sample to sample variations. We also find that the tails of the distribution are neither Gaussian nor Poisson and exhibit strong sample to sample variations.Comment: 11 pages, REVTEX3.0, MIT-CMT-HL940

    Histogram Domain Ordering for Path Selectivity Estimation

    We aim to improve the accuracy of path selectivity estimation in graph databases by intelligently ordering the domain of a histogram used for estimation. This problem has not, to our knowledge, received adequate attention in the research community. We present a novel framework for the systematic study of path ordering strategies in histogram construction and use. In this framework, we introduce new ordering strategies which we experimentally demonstrate lead to significant improvement of the accuracy of path selectivity estimation over current strategies. These positive results highlight the fundamental role that domain ordering plays in the design of effective histograms for efficient and scalable graph query processing

    Two new fluorescent NBD-piperazine derivatives with lipophilic substituents of formylcholesterol and hexanoic acid (compounds 2 and 3, respectively) were synthesized. Using in silico calculations, their abilities to permeate through lipid bilayer and to be bound affinely with some cytochromes P450 of human (2 with lanosterol 14α-demethylase CYP51, 3 with drug-metabolizing CYP1A1, CYP2D6, CYP3A4; energy of binding Ebind from –14.4 to –10 kcal/mol) and of mycobacteria (2 with sterol 27-hydroxylase CYP125, 3 with “orphan” CYP164; Ebind from –13.3 to –9.1 kcal/mol) were demonstrated. The synthesized compounds and calculated computational data will contribute to prioritization of in vitro investigations aiming to revealing properties of the proteins.Синтезированы два новых флуоресцирующих производных NBD-пиперазина с липофильными остатками формилхолестерола и гексановой кислоты (соединения 2 и 3 соответственно). Расчетно-теоретическими методами показана их возможность проникать через липидный бислой, а также аффинно связываться с некоторыми цитохромами P450 человека (2 с ланостерол 14α-деметилазой CYP51, 3 c лекарство-превращающими CYP1A1, CYP2D6, CYP3A4; энергия связывания Ebind в диапазоне –14,4…–10 ккал/моль) и микобактерий (2 со стерол-27 гидроксилазой CYP125, 3 с «орфанным» CYP164; Ebind в диапазоне –13,3…–9,1 ккал/моль). Полученные вещества и соответствующие расчетно-теоретические данные будут способствовать приоритезации исследований in vitro для целей исследования функций этих белков

    The study involved 117 human fetuses aged 5 to 10 months of prenatal development (85,0-500,0 mm parieto-calcaneal length) of both sexes by means of complex of morphological methods (anthropometry, morphometrics, computed tomography, three-dimensional computer constructing, statistical analysis). Statistical analysis of morphometric parameters of nasal region structures of both sexes fetuses during fetal period of human prenatal ontogenesis allowed to clarify and determine the features of sex and age anatomy, elucidate mathematical regularities of morphometric parameters changes in investigated structures, which can be a morphologic basis for developing diagnostic algorithms and solving issues of human fetus maturity degree. Periods of uneven growth of nasal region morphometric parameters are 5 and 8 months of fetal development during which is its size accelerated growth in both fetus sexes; also 7th month, when its growth is decelerated. Mathematical analysis of morphometric changes features of the nasal aperture and nasal cavity allowed to withdraw logarithmic functions, which reflect patterns of this structures dynamic changes: - width of nasal cavity (male) y=6,6219*exp(0,1178*x); - width of nasal cavity (female) y= 6,323*exp(0,128*x); - length of nasal cavity (male) y=11,9296*exp(0,1076*x); - length of nasal cavity (female) y=11,6504*exp(0,0992*x); - width of nasal aperture (male) y=5,8844*exp(0,1116*x); - width of nasal aperture (female) y=5,8259*exp(0,0914*x); - height of nasal aperture (male) y= 6,9016*exp(0,1418*x); - height of nasal aperture (female) y=7,0358*exp(0,1004*x).Исследовано 117 плодов человека в возрасте от 5 до 10 месяцев внутриутробного развития (85,0-500,0 мм ТПД) обоего пола с использованием комплекса методов морфологического исследования (антропометрия, морфометрия, компьютерная томография, трехмерное компьютерное реконструирование, статистический анализ).Статистический анализ морфометрических параметров структуры носовой области плодов обоего пола на протяжении плодового периода пренатального онтогенеза человека позволил выяснить и определить особенности половой и возрастной анатомии, установить математические закономерности изменений морфометрических показателейисследованных структур, что может быть морфологическим базисом для разработки диагностических алгоритмов ирешения вопросов о степени зрелости плода. Периодами неравномерного роста морфометрических показателей носовой области являются 5-ый и 8-ой месяцы внутриутробного развития, во время которых наблюдается ускоренный рост ее размеров у плодов обоего пола, а также 7-ой месяц, во время которого замедляются темпы ее роста. Математический анализ особенностей морфометрических изменений носовой апертуры и носовой полости позволил вывести логарифмические функции, которые отображают закономерности динамики изменений этих структур: - ширина носовой полости (мужской пол): y=6,6219*exp(0,1178*x); - ширина носовой полости (женский пол): y= 6,323*exp(0,128*x); - длина носовой полости (мужской пол): y=11,9296*exp(0,1076*x); - длина носовой полости (женский пол): y=11,6504*exp(0,0992*x); - ширина носовой апертуры (мужской пол): y=5,8844*exp(0,1116*x); - ширина носовой апертуры (женский пол): y=5,8259*exp(0,0914*x); - высота носовой апертуры (мужской пол): y= 6,9016*exp(0,1418*x); - высота носовой апертуры (женский пол): y=7,0358*exp(0,1004*x).Досліджено 117 плодів людини віком від 5 до 10 місяців внутрішньоутробного розвитку (85,0-500,0 мм ТПД) обох статей із використанням комплексу методів морфологічного дослідження (антропометрія, морфометрія, комп’ютерна томографія, тривимірне комп’ютерне реконструювання, статистичний аналіз). Статистичний аналіз морфометричних параметрів структур носової ділянки плодів обох статей упродовж плодового періоду пренатального онтогенезу людини дозволив з’ясувати та визначити особливості статево-вікової анатомії, встановити математичні закономірності змін морфометричних показників досліджених структур, що може бути морфологічним підґрунтям для розробки діагностичних алгоритмів та вирішення питань про ступінь зрілості плода. Періодами нерівномірного росту морфометричних показників носової ділянки є 5-й та 8-й місяці внутрішньоутробного розвитку, під час яких спостерігається прискорене зростання її розмірів у обох статей, а також 7-й місяць, під час якого уповільнюються темпи її росту.     Declarative graph querying in practice and theory

    With the recent resurgence of interest in graph data man- agement, there has been a flurry of research on the design and engineering of graph query languages. On the design side, there is a large body of theoretical results that have been obtained regarding graph languages. On the engineer- ing side, many sophisticated scalable solutions for graph query processing have been developed and put into practice. While both areas are focusing on the study of graph query languages, there has been relatively little work bridging the results on both sides. This tutorial will survey the state of the art in this landscape with a particular focus on uncovering and highlighting indicative research issues that are ripe for collaboration and cross-fertilization between the engineering and theoretical studies of graph database systems

    Finite element analysis of a thermally insulated infrared radiant emitter

    The purpose of this work is to analyze the efficiency of the technical solution that is based on thermal insulation of the infrared radiant burner outer surface and to identify of the characteristics of combustion and heat and mass exchange processes. Calculation of the heat balance is performed for thermal capacities of 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40 kW and proceeding from the main goal that was to generate directed local heating of workplaces and production areas. We used Ansys Multiphysics software and Fluent CFD solver to implement finite element analysis. Calculation of the thermal insulation layer thickness for a given external surface temperature was additionally performed. The technical solutions offered provides an optimal thermal regime in the whole building and enable us to increase the efficiency of the high temperature infrared radiant emitter to 2-17% and a consequence of the system as a whole

Recent work has brought a cost-based optimization approach to RPQs [6]. We set out a framework herein which we call Wireframe for a two-phase, cost-based optimization for CRPQs. In Wireframe, CRPQ planning—and, likewise, evalu- ation—is separated into two phases. In the first phase, the plan is for evaluating the “answer graph”.
