AbstractThe study first summarizes the characteristics of various intelligent algorithms such as improved genetic algorithm, differential evolution algorithm and ant colony algorithm adopted in test paper generation, and then proposes the parallel evolution of swarm based on ideas of shared intelligent algorithm and dynamic multi branches tree algorithm, so as to improve searching speed and achieve the effect of short-time optimization. During forming optimal individuals, classified training and repeated recognition by virtue of dynamic multi branches tree can not only avoid premature appearance but also get strong convergence. In addition, when the constraints change, the existing knowledge can be inherited. Facts have shown that this algorithm has certain theoretical significance and reference value to the development of intelligent test paper generation algorithm

Wideband hybrid metamaterial absorber via compound design of multiple mechanisms

Broadband and high efficiency are the two core indexes of absorption research, which usually requires a balance between them. Therefore, how to take into account both and achieve broadband and efficient absorption is a hot topic in current research. In this paper, by the compound design of multiple mechanisms, a kind of wideband hybrid metamaterial absorber (HMA) is proposed. The overall structure consists of a layer of patterned resistive film and a layer of magnetic absorbing material (MAM) separated by the air. The resistive layer is designed as square ring type to regulate the local magnetic field, which results in significant magnetic field enhancement within the MAM layer, and this mechanism provides a prerequisite for wideband and high-efficiency absorption in the low frequency band. Furthermore, due to the electrical losses of the resistive film, another absorption band is additionally excited in the high frequency band. Thanks to the multiple mechanisms, the absorption efficiency above 90% in the 3.2–22.0 GHz frequency band can be realized, and the thickness of the overall structure is 7.0 mm that is 0.07 of the wavelengths at the lowest frequency point. To demonstrate this method, a prototype is designed, fabricated and measured. Both the simulation and experiment results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. This work provides a new method to design wideband and high-efficiency electromagnetic absorption structures and may find potential applications in multi-functional planar or conformal structures

Advances in the Study of Hyperprogression of Different Tumors Treated with PD-1/PD-L1 Antibody and the Mechanisms of Its Occurrence

No full text
Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) including PD-1/PD-L1 antibodies, have demonstrated significant clinical benefits in the treatment of individuals with many types of cancer. However, as more and more patients use such therapies, the side effects of immune checkpoint inhibitors have also been discovered. These include accelerated tumor growth in some patients, creating new lesions, and even life-threatening ones. These side effects are known as hyperprogression disease (HPD), and different types of tumors have different HPD conditions after ICIs treatment. Therefore, understanding the pathogenesis of HPD and predicting its occurrence is critical for patients using ICIs therapy. Here, we will briefly review the current status of PD-1/PD-L1 antibody therapy, HPD occurrence in various types of tumors, and the underlying mechanism

Identification and molecular characterization of the alternative spliced variants of beta carbonic anhydrase 1 (βCA1) from Arabidopsis thaliana

Carbonic anhydrases (CAs) are ubiquitous zinc metalloenzymes that catalyze the interconversion of carbon dioxide and bicarbonate. Higher plants mainly contain the three evolutionarily distinct CA families αCA, βCA, and γCA, with each represented by multiple isoforms. Alternative splicing (AS) of the CA transcripts is common. However, there is little information on the spliced variants of individual CA isoforms. In this study, we focused on the characterization of spliced variants of βCA1 from Arabidopsis. The expression patterns and subcellular localization of the individual spliced variants of βCA1 were examined. The results showed that the spliced variants of βCA1 possessed different subcellular and tissue distributions and responded differently to environmental stimuli. Additionally, we addressed the physiological role of βCA1 in heat stress response and its protein-protein interaction (PPI) network. Our results showed that βCA1 was regulated by heat stresses, and βca1 mutant was hypersensitive to heat stress, indicating a role for βCA1 in heat stress response. Furthermore, PPI network analysis revealed that βCA1 interacts with multiple proteins involved in several processes, including photosynthesis, metabolism, and the stress response, and these will provide new avenues for future investigations of βCA1

Prevalence and Diversity Analysis of Candidate Prophages to Provide An Understanding on Their Roles in Bacillus Thuringiensis

Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) is widely used in producing biological insecticides. Phage contaminations during Bt fermentation can cause severe losses of yields. Lots of strategies have been engaged to control extrinsic phage contamination during Bt fermentation, but their effectiveness is low. In this study, the candidate endogenous prophages (prophages) in 61 Bt chromosomes that had been deposited in GenBank database were analyzed. The results revealed that all chromosomes contained prophage regions, and 398 candidate prophage regions were predicted, including 135 putative complete prophages and 263 incomplete prophage regions. These putative complete prophages showed highly diverse genetic backgrounds. The inducibility of the prophages of ten Bt strains (4AJ1, 4BD1, HD-1, HD-29, HD-73, HD-521, BMB171, 4CC1, CT-43, and HD-1011) was tested, and the results showed that seven of the ten strains’ prophages were inducible. These induced phages belonged to the Siphoviridae family and exhibited a broad host spectrum against the non-original strains. The culture supernatants of the two strains (BMB171, 4CC1) could lyse Bt cells, but no virions were observed, which was speculated to be caused by lysin. The functional analysis of the putative complete prophage proteins indicated that some proteins, such as antibiotic resistance-associated proteins and restriction endonucleases, might increase the fitness of the Bt strains to different environments. The findings of this study provided understanding on the high prevalence and diversity of Bt prophages, as well as pointed out the role of prophages in the life cycle of Bt

Genomic, Antimicrobial, and Aphicidal Traits of Bacillus velezensis ATR2, and Its Biocontrol Potential against Ginger Rhizome Rot Disease Caused by Bacillus pumilus

Ginger rhizome rot disease, caused by the pathogen Bacilluspumilus GR8, could result in severe rot of ginger rhizomes and heavily threaten ginger production. In this study, we identified and characterized a new Bacillus velezensis strain, designated ATR2. Genome analysis revealed B. velezensis ATR2 harbored a series of genes closely related to promoting plant growth and triggering plant immunity. Meanwhile, ten gene clusters involved in the biosynthesis of various secondary metabolites (surfactin, bacillomycin, fengycin, bacillibactin, bacilysin, difficidin, macrolactin, bacillaene, plantazolicin, and amylocyclicin) and two clusters encoding a putative lipopeptide and a putative phosphonate which might be explored as novel bioactive compounds were also present in the ATR2 genome. Moreover, B. velezensis ATR2 showed excellent antagonistic activities against multiple plant pathogenic bacteria, plant pathogenic fungi, human pathogenic bacteria, and human pathogenic fungus. B. velezensis ATR2 was also efficacious in control of aphids. The antagonistic compound from B. velezensis ATR2 against B.pumilus GR8 was purified and identified as bacillomycin D. In addition, B. velezensis ATR2 exhibited excellent biocontrol efficacy against ginger rhizome rot disease on ginger slices. These findings showed the potential of further applications of B. velezensis ATR2 as a biocontrol agent in agricultural diseases and pests management
