    The type of this research is descriptive research that aims to determine the ability of students mathematical connections to solve the problem of story form on Triangle and Triangle material in class VII of SMP Negeri 1 Majene based on students\u27 early math ability. The subjects of the study were 6 students consisting of 2 students with a high level of early math ability, 2 students with moderate level of math ability, and 2 students with low level of early math ability. The result of the research shows that (1) students with high level of high mathematics ability have high mathematical connection ability, students with high ability level can solve problems and connect them with mathematics, science (other), and daily life well. But there are students who have little problem in solving the problem (2) students with the basic level of mathematics skills have medium math connection ability, students with ability level are able to understand the problem, but have difficulty in solving the problem and connect it with mathematics concept, fields), and daily life. (3) students with low level of early math ability have low mathematical connection ability, Students with low ability level have difficulty in understanding determine the elements of the problem so that they can not solve the problem and connect it with mathematics, science (other), and also everyday life

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa padapembelajaran matematika dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif Tipe STADdengan pendekatan matematika realistik di kelas VIIA semester gasal Tahun Ajaran 2015/2016.Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang terdiri dari 2 siklus, denganmenerapkan model pembelajaran Kooperative Tipe STAD dengan pendekatan matematikarealistik. Subjek penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIIA SMP Negeri 3 Tinambung. Teknikpengumpulan data penelitian hasil belajar siswa dilakukan dengan mengunakan tes sedangkanaktivitas belajar siswa mengunakan lembar observasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakanadalah analisis deskriptif yakni menjelaskan arah Perubahan peningkatan hasil belajar siswadalam penerapan model pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe STAD dengan pendekatan matematikarealistik. Dari analisis data dengan penerapan model pembelajaran Kooperative Tipe STADdengan pendekatan matematika realistik, Pada siklus I rata-rata keterlaksanaan pembelajaransebesar (70,00%), rata-rata aktivitas belajar siswa sebesar (57,89%), serta diperoleh skor rataratahasil belajar siswa sebesar 67 dan pada siklus II rata-rata keterlaksanaan pembelajaransebesar (95,00%), rata-rata aktivitas belajar siswa sebesar (86,87%), serta deperoleh skor rataratahasil belajar siswa sebesar 80, dari data tersebut terlihat bahwa terdapat peningkatanketerlaksanaan pembelajaran dari siklus I ke siklus II sebesar (25,00%), terjadi peningkatanaktivitas belajar siswa siklus I ke siklus II sebesar (28,95%), serta peningkatan ketuntasanbelajar siswa dari siklus I ke siklus II sebesar (23,81%). Pada siklus II ini telah tercapaiindikator ketuntasan belajar yang ditetapkan, jika paling sedikit 70% dari jumlah siswa dalamkelas telah mencapai ketuntasan ≥ 70% tujuan pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian ini membuktikanbahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Kooperative Tipe STAD dengan pendekatan matematikarealistik dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas VIIA SMPNegeri 3 Tinambung

    The impact of surplus free cash flow and stock market segmentations on earnings management in Jordan: agency - and institutional - theory perspectives / Ahmad A. Toumeh, Sofri Yahya and Azlan Amran.

    The current research aims at providing evidence concerning the influence of surplus free cash flow (SFCF) and stock market segmentations (SMS) on income-increasing earnings management practices in Jordan. The results, based on a sample of all non-financial companies that were listed on the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) from 2013 to 2017, confirm the research hypotheses. The Huber-White’s sandwich standard errors for randomeffects regression was used as the primary statistical tool for this study. The findings revealed a significant and positive association between SFCF and income-boosting discretionary accruals (DAC). As well, the results found that SMS was significantly and positively associated with the positive DAC. This research adds value to scholarship by investigating the impact of SMS variable on earnings management. To the best available knowledge, this relationship has not been examined either in Jordan or elsewhere in the world. Further, this is the first empirical attempt to investigate the effect of SFCF on earnings management in Jordan, which provides meaningful information for companies seeking to understand and reduce agency problems within the Jordanian context

    Efficiency study on vertical-finned crystalliser for concentration of carrot juice

    Vertical-Finned Crystalliser (VFC) is a new innovation of the progressive freeze concentration method which is applied in concentration of carrot juice. The aim of this research is to observe the efficiency of this newly designed crystalliser in preserving the beta carotene content in the carrot juice concentrate. The crystalliser is equipped with a cooling jacket and extended surface of heat transfer area which makes it possible to obtain high efficiency operation, highly concentrated carrot juice and pure ice layer in the process. The process started with feeding the carrot juice into the crystalliser and the ethylene glycol coolant was pumped into the cooling jacket. Both carrot juice and coolant were circulated in the crystalliser and cooling jacket using two different pumps, until a layer of ice was formed on the inner wall of the crystalliser, including the extended surface/fins. The range of coolant temperature investigated was -6 °C to -12 °C and circulation flowrate of 1,600 mL/min to 2,800 mL/min at constant operation time of 50 min. The efficiency of the process was observed based on the average concentration efficiency value, η (%) and effective partition constant, K using concentration value from the sample absorbance analysis result of UV-Vis spectrophotometer. It was found that the increase in freezing rate (-8 °C) brought about the increase in average concentration efficiency value, η and lower K-value. Meanwhile, the best circulation flow rate was 2,800 mL/min giving higher value of efficiency and lower K-value.     Dampak Pengelolaan Migas terhadap Perikanan Tangkap Skala Kecil di Sulawesi Barat

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran pengaruh pengelolaan migas offshore terhadap perikanan tangkap skala kecil di Pulau Lere-lerekang. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama 3 bulan yang dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Sendana sebagai wilayah konsentrasi nelayan skala kecil yang melakukan operasi penangkapan di wilayah perairan Pula Bala-balakang.  Parameter yang diamati terdiri dari 2 aspek yaitu aspek ekonomi dan social dimana variabel yang digunakan pada kedua aspek tersebut mengacu pada metode RAPFISH dan dianalisa secara deskriptif. Pengambilan data mengacu pada metode purposive sampling dan snowball. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa persepsi nelayan terhadap pendapatan, jumlah hasil tangkapan semenjak adanya pengelolaan migas di wilayah perairan Pulau Bala-balakang cenderung menurun sedangkan parameter nilai hasil tangkapan dan biaya melaut cenderung meningkat. Peningkatan nilai hasil tangkapan disebabkan semakin sedikitnya jumlah hasil tangkapan yang dapat didaratkan oleh nelayan di lokasi penelitian, namun peningkatan nilai hasil tangkapan ini tidak dapat dirasakan manfaatnya karena tidak sebanding dengan jumlah hasil tangkapan yang diperoleh dan semakin tingginya biaya operasional yang disebabkan lokasi penangkapan yang semakin jauh. Pada aspek social sebagian besar nelayan menyatakan pekerjaan sebagai nelayan skala kecil yang melakukan operasi penangkapan ikan di wilayah perairan Pulau Bala-balakang sudah tidak mampu untuk memenuhi kebutuhan sehari-hari sehingga untuk mengatasi kondisi tersebut maka nelayan melakukan strategi adaptasi yaitu dengan mencari pekerjaan sampingan atau beralih menjadi penyedia jasa angkutan antar pula

    Multi-objective optimization of filament wound composite pressure vessels based on weight and matrix cracking/ burst pressure using imperialist competitive algorithm

    The most important concern in design of filament-wound composite pressure vessels reflects on the determination of the optimum shape and optimum laminate stacking sequence of composite vessels based on the matrix cracking pressure and burst pressure of composite laminates. In this study the Imperialist Competitive Algorithm (ICA) is used to find the optimum laminate stacking sequence of composite vessels that the design considerations are stability and strength constraints. the matrix cracking pressure of filament-wound composite pressure vessels made of different number of helical layers and different layers of Circumferential layers was calculated by using orthotropic material formulae and then, the burst pressure of composite vessels was calculated by using netting analysis. The optimum laminate stacking sequence of filament winding composite was found to maximize the matrix cracking pressure and the burst pressure by using Imperialist Competitive algorithm

    Static analysis of stitched sandwich beams with functionally graded foam core

    In this paper static analysis of a cantilever functionally graded sandwich beam under uniform distributed loads is carried out numerically. The beam is composed of two glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP) facesheets and a graded Corecell A-series foam core. The composite skins and foam core are stitched together using the same glass fiber. A finite element (FE) model is developed employing a FE commercial code to determine the stresses and deflections. To find the effect of quality of foam gradation through the thickness of the core on the deflections and stresses numerical experiments are performed. Results revealed that the quality of gradation of the foam core affected the displacements and stresses significantly so that an optimal gradation of foam can minimize the deflection, stresses and weight of the sandwich beam
