    Generalized Background-Field Method

The graphical method discussed previously can be used to create new gauges not reachable by the path-integral formalism. By this means a new gauge is designed for more efficient two-loop QCD calculations. It is related to but simpler than the ordinary background-field gauge, in that even the triple-gluon vertices for internal lines contain only four terms, not the usual six. This reduction simplifies the calculation inspite of the necessity to include other vertices for compensation. Like the ordinary background-field gauge, this generalized background-field gauge also preserves gauge invariance of the external particles. As a check of the result and an illustration for the reduction in labour, an explicit calculation of the two-loop QCD β\beta-function is carried out in this new gauge. It results in a saving of 45% of computation compared to the ordinary background-field gauge.Comment: 17 pages, Latex, 18 figures in Postscrip

AbstractThis study aims to determine "The Effect of E-commerce on Consumptive Behavior in Economics Education Students, FKIP Untan Pontianak". The method used is a quantitative method with the form of relationship studies. The population is active students of the Pontianak Untan FKIP Economic Education class 2019, 2018 and 2017 regular A and the accelerated gross enrollment rate program (PPAPK) who have spent shopping through E-commerce. While the sample in this study amounted to 56 respondents obtained through simple random sampling technique. Data collection techniques using indirect communication techniques and documentary studies. The results of the study found that there was a significant positive effect of E-commerce on Consumptive Behavior in Economic Education Students of FKIP Untan Pontianak of 7.6% as evidenced by the Sig value of 0.040 <0.05 and in other words rejecting the null hypothesis (Ho) for variable testing , So the conclusion is that there is an effect of E-commerce on consumptive behavior in Economics Education Students FKIP Pontianak Untan amounting to 7.6%, while the remaining 92.4% is influenced by other factors not examined by researchersKeywords: E-commerce, Consumtive Behavior

Using Positive Youth Development Constructs to Design a Money Management Curriculum for Junior Secondary School Students in Hong Kong

    Get PDF
This paper aims to discuss the relationships between the selected positive youth development constructs and the enhancement of Hong Kong junior secondary school students' money management skills, values, and attitudes. Various issues of money management of adolescents are reviewed. These issues include the need for money management programs for adolescents, the content and coverage of an appropriate money management program, and its relationships with the selected positive youth development constructs. The curriculum units for secondary 3 students are taken as examples to illustrate the design of the program. It is believed that promoting cognitive competence, self-efficacy, and spirituality could be an effective way to enhance students' money management skills, values, and attitudes, thus preparing them better for facing the finance-related issues in life

Using Positive Youth Development Constructs to Design a Drug Education Curriculum for Junior Secondary Students in Hong Kong

    Get PDF
This paper outlines the design of a new curriculum for positive youth development (P.A.T.H.S. II) in Hong Kong. The paper discusses the conceptual base for designing a drug-education curriculum for junior-secondary students using four positive youth development constructs—cognitive competence, emotional competence, beliefs in the future, and self-efficacy. The program design is premised on the belief that adolescents do have developmental assets; therefore, the curriculum is designed to develop their psychosocial competencies. The goal of the curriculum is to develop the selfhood of these youths and ultimately achieve the goal of successful adolescent development

Combinatorial Hopf algebras and Towers of Algebras

Bergeron and Li have introduced a set of axioms which guarantee that the Grothendieck groups of a tower of algebras n0An\bigoplus_{n\ge0}A_n can be endowed with the structure of graded dual Hopf algebras. Hivert and Nzeutzhap, and independently Lam and Shimozono constructed dual graded graphs from primitive elements in Hopf algebras. In this paper we apply the composition of these constructions to towers of algebras. We show that if a tower n0An\bigoplus_{n\ge0}A_n gives rise to graded dual Hopf algebras then we must have dim(An)=rnn!\dim(A_n)=r^nn! where r=dim(A1)r = \dim(A_1).Comment: 7 page

    Implementing Unitarity in Perturbation Theory

    Get PDF
Unitarity cannot be perserved order by order in ordinary perturbation theory because the constraint UU^\dagger=\1 is nonlinear. However, the corresponding constraint for K=lnUK=\ln U, being K=KK=-K^\dagger, is linear so it can be maintained in every order in a perturbative expansion of KK. The perturbative expansion of KK may be considered as a non-abelian generalization of the linked-cluster expansion in probability theory and in statistical mechanics, and possesses similar advantages resulting from separating the short-range correlations from long-range effects. This point is illustrated in two QCD examples, in which delicate cancellations encountered in summing Feynman diagrams of are avoided when they are calculated via the perturbative expansion of KK. Applications to other problems are briefly discussed.Comment: to appear in Phys. Rev.

    Renormalizability of Nonrenormalizable Field Theories

    Get PDF
We give a simple and elegant proof of the Equivalence Theorem, stating that two field theories related by nonlinear field transformations have the same S matrix. We are thus able to identify a subclass of nonrenormalizable field theories which are actually physically equivalent to renormalizable ones. Our strategy is to show by means of the BRS formalism that the "nonrenormalizable" part of such fake nonrenormalizable theories, is a kind of gauge fixing, being confined in the cohomologically trivial sector of the theory.Comment: 3 pages, revtex, no figure

Quantum Communications with Compressed Decoherence Using Bright Squeezed Light

We propose a scheme for long-distance distribution of quantum entanglement in which the entanglement between qubits at intermediate stations of the channel is established by using bright light pulses in squeezed states coupled to the qubits in cavities with a weak dispersive interaction. The fidelity of the entanglement between qubits at the neighbor stations (10 km apart from each other) obtained by postselection through the balanced homodyne detection of 7 dB squeezed pulses can reach F=0.99 without using entanglement purification, at same time, the probability of successful generation of entanglement is 0.34.Comment: 4 pages, 2 figure

Discrete symmetries and models of flavor mixing

Evidences of a discrete symmetry behind the pattern of lepton mixing are analyzed. The program of "symmetry building" is outlined. Generic features and problems of realization of this program in consistent gauge models are formulated. The key issues include the flavor symmetry breaking, connection of mixing and masses, {\it ad hoc} prescription of flavor charges, "missing" representations, existence of new particles, possible accidental character of the TBM mixing. Various ways are considered to extend the leptonic symmetries to the quark sector and to reconcile them with Grand Unification. In this connection the quark-lepton complementarity could be a viable alternative to TBM. Observational consequences of the symmetries and future experimental tests of their existence are discussed.Comment: 14 pages, 5 figures.
