    Development of airborne hemispheric spectrometer

    No full text
A new concept of hyperspectral instrument is presented. Novel design of hyperspectral skydome allows retrieval of atmospheric constituents and properties from a snapshot of spectral solar radiation over entire sky, regardless of platform motion either on ground or aircraft. Design and description of subsystems of the instrument are given followed by preliminary tolerance analysis, whose results are to be added in the retrieval algorithm along with hardware specifications. Extended application of the hyperspectral skydome is being carried out filling in the gap in the imaging spectrometry

N/P InP homojunction solar cells with an In0.53Ga0.47As contacting layer grown by liquid phase epitaxy

N/P InP homojunction solar cells with an In sub 0.53 Ga sub 0.47 As contacting layer were fabricated by liquid phase epitaxy (LPE). Electron-Beam-Induced-Current (EBIC) measurements were performed on several selected samples. It was found that the background doping level in the base region sometimes results in a deep junction, which greatly affects the cell performance

    Nonlinearly Realized Extended Supergravity

We provide nonlinear realization of supergravity with an arbitrary number of supersymmetries by means of coset construction. The number of gravitino degrees of freedom counts the number of supersymmetries, which will be possibly probed in future experiments. We also consider goldstino embedding in the construction to discuss the relation to nonlinear realization with rigid supersymmetries.Comment: 19 page

Relation between Kitaev magnetism and structure in α\alpha-RuCl3_3

Raman scattering has been employed to investigate lattice and magnetic excitations of the honeycomb Kitaev material α\alpha-RuCl3_3 and its Heisenberg counterpart CrCl3_3. Our phonon Raman spectra give evidence for a first-order structural transition from a monoclinic to a rhombohedral structure for both compounds. Significantly, only α\alpha-RuCl3_3 features a large thermal hysteresis, consistent with the formation of a wide phase of coexistence. In the related temperature interval of 7017070-170 K, we observe a hysteretic behavior of magnetic excitations as well. The stronger magnetic response in the rhombohedral compared to the monoclinic phase evidences a coupling between the crystallographic structure and low-energy magnetic response. Our results demonstrate that the Kitaev magnetism concomitant with fractionalized excitations is susceptible to small variations of bonding geometry.Comment: 9 pages, 8 figures, To appear in PR
