    Effects of Rashba spin-orbit coupling and a magnetic field on a polygonal quantum ring

    Using standard quantum network method, we analytically investigate the effect of Rashba spin-orbit coupling (RSOC) and a magnetic field on the spin transport properties of a polygonal quantum ring. Using Landauer-Buttiker formula, we have found that the polarization direction and phase of transmitted electrons can be controlled by both the magnetic field and RSOC. A device to generate a spin-polarized conductance in a polygon with an arbitrary number of sides is discussed. This device would permit precise control of spin and selectively provide spin filtering for either spin up or spin down simply by interchanging the source and drain

    Interplay between Quantum Size Effect and Strain Effect on Growth of Nanoscale Metal Thin Film

    We develop a theoretical framework to investigate the interplay between quantum size effect (QSE) and strain effect on the stability of metal nanofilms. The QSE and strain effect are shown to be coupled through the concept of "quantum electronic stress. First-principles calculations reveal large quantum oscillations in the surface stress of metal nanofilms as a function of film thickness. This adds extrinsically additional strain-coupled quantum oscillations to surface energy of strained metal nanofilms. Our theory enables a quantitative estimation of the amount of strain in experimental samples, and suggests strain be an important factor contributing to the discrepancies between the existing theories and experiments

    LazyGNN: Large-Scale Graph Neural Networks via Lazy Propagation

    Recent works have demonstrated the benefits of capturing long-distance dependency in graphs by deeper graph neural networks (GNNs). But deeper GNNs suffer from the long-lasting scalability challenge due to the neighborhood explosion problem in large-scale graphs. In this work, we propose to capture long-distance dependency in graphs by shallower models instead of deeper models, which leads to a much more efficient model, LazyGNN, for graph representation learning. Moreover, we demonstrate that LazyGNN is compatible with existing scalable approaches (such as sampling methods) for further accelerations through the development of mini-batch LazyGNN. Comprehensive experiments demonstrate its superior prediction performance and scalability on large-scale benchmarks. The implementation of LazyGNN is available at https://github.com/RXPHD/Lazy_GNN

    Intrusions into Privacy in Video Chat Environments: Attacks and Countermeasures

    Video chat systems such as Chatroulette have become increasingly popular as a way to meet and converse one-on-one via video and audio with other users online in an open and interactive manner. At the same time, security and privacy concerns inherent in such communication have been little explored. This paper presents one of the first investigations of the privacy threats found in such video chat systems, identifying three such threats, namely de-anonymization attacks, phishing attacks, and man-in-the-middle attacks.     Objective: To observe the effect of clozapine induced hypotension in patients with postural hypotension, and nursing effectively prevent the occurrence of postural hypotension. Methods: 120 patients with schizophrenia who were treated by clozapine in our hospital in January 2015, June 2015, were randomly selected and blood pressure was analyzed by clinical observation. Results: In the 120 cases of the patients with schizophrenia, the incidence of postural hypotension is much associated with the length of time, drug dosage size, the patient's age, lifestyle, diet, sleep quality and so on. Conclusion: On the basis of the observation of patients taking clozapine, the health education can effectively prevent the postural hypotension. 目的  观察氯氮平致体位性低血压的情况,做好预防及护理,有效防止体位性低血压的发生。方法  对2015年1—6月在我病房住院服用氯氮平治疗的精神分裂症患者随机抽取120例,通过临床观察测定患者血压情况进行调查分析。结果  在120例住院的精神分裂症患者中,体位性低血压的发生与用药时间长短,药物剂量大小,患者的年龄、生活习惯、饮食睡眠质量等有关。结论  对服用氯氮平的患者,做好基础护理观察,同时开展健康教育,能有效地防止体位性低血压
